What can I add to other reviews. ! Fantastic site and wonderful amenities. Fantastic friendly staff. Views to die for. Plenty for all ages to do from walking Mountain biking or fishing or canoing in the lakes. Toilets and showers are some of the best we have ever come across. Never needed to wait for either. Kept spotlessly clean. Everyone on the site were friendly and very quiet at night. A big thank you to george and the staff for a wonderful job.

Just returned from a whole two weeks at this site. We had high expectations of the site due to all the excellent reviews. I have to say it exceeded all our expectations. This has to be the best campsite and I am not going to repeat what has been said. The whole place has a relaxed atmosphere about it and they have thought of everything. I can honestly say there is nothing negative to say. The site is clean and has everything you need for a great holiday. The toilet block has to be the best we have experienced on any of the campsites we have visited.
We have two teenagers and I did worry that they would be bored but they were more than happy to stay on site and go for walks, swim in the lakes or borrow one of the Kayaks.
When you go to the toilet block on a clear night the night sky is amazing.
Cant wait to go back.

Just back from a lovely week at Fforest Fields. The facilities were excellent and the owner's were very friendly and helpful.
It was nice to hire a fire pit for a couple of nights and just sit in deckchairs relaxing with a drink or two. It's the only site we have visited where we have stayed on the site rather than feeling the need to go out and find attractions and things to do. The atmosphere and views are really relaxing.
Major supermarkets are not too far and there is a nice walk to the local pub.
The site is well maintained. We did notice a large number of dogs around with some mess seen but that is of course down to some irresponsible owners rather than the site owners.
We will definitely be going back as, after visiting numerous sites over the years, it is the best site we've been to.

In the heart of mid wales a beautiful site. Toilets and shower facilities were immaculate and the site is spotlessly clean. It is a heaven for dogs and children. The children were on their bikes enjoying themselves. The lakes for swimming and kayaking were great. The walks around the site are fabulous and free fishing in one of the lakes. A beautiful summerhouse has been built on one of the lakes. The pitches were very large and spacious. The family who run the site are very friendly and it is down to their hard work the site is so lovely. Thank you.

Have just come back from 4 nights camping at Fforest Fields in the worst of the summer weather so far. Brand new windbreak broke and thought on many occasions our tent was going to blow away with the huge gusts of wind and rain. The facilities are excellent and always clean. The fridges were always full so found it hard to get any food in there but managed on our third day. Glad of the freezers to refreeze our ice blocks. Lovely site, well maintained pitches with added bonus of the fishing lake and the other lake for canoeing and swimming. Lovely idea of fire pits £5 deposit which you get back, then £3 hire per night plus £6 logs so made an expensive addition to our holiday. We were also asked for a £25 deposit from each family when we booked even though on website it says they do not normally ask for one. Did notice huge piles of dog poo which was not cleared up as there were many dogs on site. Many owners cleaned up their mess but obviously one or two just didn't and kids had to be careful not to walk in it. Not sure our small group was made to feel welcome though. Site more catered for families, couples but not really family group gatherings. Was left rather disappointed after waiting so long and planning our few days away with family friends, that we were made to wonder if we made the right decision to stay at Fforest Fields.
Would we go there again. Probably on our own sometime in the future because the fishing lake our son enjoyed and the other lake our kids thoroughly enjoyed swimming in it and jumping and diving off the pontoon. Not sure our friends would revisit though as not relaxed enough for them and too many rules.

We have just spent a week at Fforest fields with our family, 15 of us in tents folding campers and caravans, we had a good time with days out. The facilities are great all clean tidy and upto date. Its a quiet site with shops etc nearby, on site the small shop stocks a few things and you can hire the fire pits which are great. The only let down was that we were packing up on the Friday to make an early start ( booked in and paid for until Saturday ) which was noticed and we had 8 tents put on our pitches using the hook up before we had left, it did not make the ending of the week very good.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this wonderful site. We went for my birthday over the 13/14 July and the weather was tropical! I lived in my bikini for the whole 3 days there. How to describe differently from the other reviews - I imagine that the owners were campers prior to coming here and I would like to think that they listed all the things that you would want as a camper and then set about providing everything. The indoor washing up sinks, the free washing machines, the drying room, the fridges and freezers, the microwave and kettle and the lockable mobile phone charging. The free and always immaculate showers and toilets. My other half said that the mens facilities were let down by a few lazy gentleman not cleaning up after themselves in the showers and in some of the toilets - this is not a reflection on the owners - just a minority of inconsiderate campers! We booked a tent pitch with EHU and told to pitch wherever we wanted - so we plumped for the middle of the field. With hindsight - this was a mistake as we had no shade from sun up to sun down. We both took to lying under our cars to try and get some respite from the unusually tropical sunshine. We took a walk to the lake and because of the heat, I found myself swimming with all the others - beats the overcrowded pools in the awful high rise resorts. We will definitely go back, the whole ethos of the owners and their team was to make you feel trusted and welcome - this was never more evident than in the honesty shop. Lots of sausages and bacon from a local farmer. You were never made to feel like you shouldn't be doing something - when we asked if we could have a fire, we were told that camping isn't camping if you don't have a fire. This campsite is up there with the best ones in Europe. The sign of any good site is one with lots of Dutch or Danes and there were plenty here. My only downside is the local area. Having been brought up in Anglesey, I am acutely aware of the lack of facilities in some of the most beautiful areas in Wales and unfortunately, this was no exception. We wanted a nice cup of tea and cake, and both Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells were lacking. On our last day, we packed up and tried to get something to eat (my other half is stationed in Lulworth Dorset and I live in Manchester, and we like to get the whole day together before we have to go our separate ways). We ventured into Builth, but it was a ghost town with all the pubs telling us that they either didn't serve food, would be serving at 7 or just looking at us if we were mad! I know that living in Manchester I am used to eating out at all hours of the day - but the same can be said for the more rural Dorst also. Don't expect to wined and dined when out, just take lots of lovely food and keep it in the fridges/freezers on site. I nearly forgot - there was no rush to get us off the site. We started packing up about 2pm and off by half 3. There were others around us just starting to pack as we were leaving. A truly wonderful site, we cannot praise it enough. As a seasoned camper both in UK and in Europe - this is right up there with the best. Well done and thank you for making my 41st birthday the best birthday ever - and for making the sun shine! You are all so very clever! Thanks And & Paul xx

Fforest fields was always a very good campsite to us, as a family with young children and, later, returning with them as adults. The location and ambience, and the care and attention of Katie and George Barstow to enhancing the camping experience was first class.
However, our latest visit last month gave us our first experience of the new facilities block - which transfers this campsite into the 'excellent' category. The space within the shower cubicles and the quality of the facilities generally shows great care and attention to campers' needs, and adds to all the other splendid features of this campsite.
Fforest fields is now the reference point against which we will compare all the other sites we hope to visit! Go and see for yourself.

We went back to Fforest Fields this year after 2 years away. It was a last minute decision with a beautiful forecast ahead for the weekend.
As usual we were greeted as if we were long lost family and left to pitch where ever we chose and in any direction which we love. We chose a pitch in the main filed for the first time away from most as we fancied peace and quiet.
When we have stayed before we have always had a wonderful time and it has been our favourite site since our first visit 4 years ago. However, we have always left wishing the facilities were a bit nicer. Don't get me wrong, they were always clean but a little old and basic. So imagine our surprise this year when we arrived and found the most wonderful facilities, where every little thing had been thought of.
I found this site so relaxing and the family are always so friendly and I spend many a winter's day day dreaming about going again.
The area around the site is beautiful and plenty to do on site and locally for families and adults. Lovely long walks for the dog.
Anyway must get back to work but just like to say that this site is perfect in every way. Have a good Christmas and New Year. (They should have an 11 out of 10 for this place)

I don't think there is anything else I could add about this site. It was perfect, but this could have had something to do with the weather. Had the most amazing week and even booked an extra night.
Couldn't fault the site at all, always spotless and owners very helpful. The cheapest site we've ever been to.
The lake is an added bonus, everyone loved it even the dogs!
Will definitely be back.
Keep up the good work.
