Peaceful site. Great for walking/Cycling. Climbing the mountains/Hills ( which are around the site ) were very interesting. We affectionately called one, Georges Mountain. ( to the left of the site as you drove in ) This was a favourite of ours. When you reached the top of Georges M/H and looked out, the views were stunning. Plenty of wild life about. Owners very polite. We stayed for a week and had a nice time. 1 Local Pub. Electric Hook ups. Water. Ch/Des area. Showers.Toilet block M&F. Laundry facilities. Small pond. TV rec poor but you can borrow an Ariel from the owner. Also Bar B Q Blocks are available. No local shops. A few groceries are available on the site during the busier periods. Weather very windy and wet at the time, but this didn't bother us.

This fantastic site is a MUST. It's peaceful with a relaxed atmosphere, mainly due to the owners Katie & George who have to be the most friendliest and helpful owners we’ve ever met. We had a problem with our EHU which had gone faulty. George came out in the dark with a loan one for us around 10.45pm within 10 mins of us calling for help. What a service!
The Honesty Box for milk, eggs, bacon, bread etc is an excellent feature which is very well used. You can always be sure of a bacon butty and a cuppa whatever the time. The site has excellent drainage so even though we had terrific rain, we were never in any puddles.
Just outside the sink area, there is a wipe board where UKCS members are encouraged to write their names to let other members know they are on site. There are daily weather forecasts printed from the internet for the area which is brilliant for helping to plan your activities. There is also a huge map on the wall with areas of interest indicated and a free information leaflet that Katie & George have put together is a valuable piece of information. Brecon Beacons approx 20 mile drive.
There are also picnic tables & benches dotted around the site for use by customers. The wildlife on the site is spectacular with Swallows nesting in the toilet areas and bunny rabbits hopping about the site, so many different types of birds landing for titbits and lots of sheep.
There is plenty of good easy accessible walking direct from the site so you can take a picnic with bottles of wine on a good day and not have to drive back.
Supermarkets are available 4 miles away in Builth Wells and 7 miles away in Llandridnod Wells so no need to take too much food with you. The Seven Stars pub in Aberedu (approx 6 miles from the site)serves fantastic food and an extremely friendly welcome.
This site is a MUST for all those who require peace, tranquillity, fantastic wildlife, friendly helpful owners, fantastic walking and a base for exploring the fabulous areas. Ee will be back next year.

Lovely site with really pretty piches around a small onsite stream ,and a seperate large field. We were piched on the large field at the bottom of a mountain and to wake up to that view every morning was fantastic ! The owners are really friendly and saved our tent when we managed to damage it. The location of this site is terrific if you enjoy walking ,we found lots of fantastic walk through forests ,along streams ect ,we were sorry to leave after 10 days because there was still so much more we wanted to do and see.the site its self is clean and well kept and is on a working farm so fascinating too .We will deffinatley be visiting this site again !!

Our friends and my husband and I spent two fabulous weeks at Fforest Fields. As soon as we arrived the greeting from the owner was fabulous, our sites were superb and the views were great. Some lovely walking straight out of the gate from our field and our dogs loved it! You can have fresh bacon, bread, butter, eggs etc from a well stocked fridge (need to get in quick for bacon as really good and goes quick!!) and all the facilities were clean, water hot and laundry room had a use of spin drier which was great. The town of Builth Wells is good and the butcher J D Powell is the one that supplies the bacon. Do go and have your Sunday lunch at the Lion Hotel in Builth Wells, its a real treat. All in all, it is a really superb, friendly site.

This is my favouite site as you can relax and not worry about the kids. George and Katie do a brilliant job keeping everything in order. The pitches are big and the views fantastic. I've never known my kids enjoy the natural surroundings so much as here. There are great walks all around the site, and paragliders often jump off the hill and land in the field next to the site. The facilities are very clean and the site has an all round happy feeling about it.

Just returned after spending the BH weekend here. We were camped in the overflow field - beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Small tip though I'd suggest taking earplugs as the sheep are very noisy especially at about 4am.
Very very friendly/helpful owners Kate and George - nothing was too much trouble and the honesty box was a real delight to see in this day & age. Lovely location, plenty of walks for the fit and not so fit!!
It being a BH weekend the site was full and very busy and to be honest in my opinion the facilities couldn't cope with the number of people. Every day we had to queue for the showers for quite a while - problem was worse for us ladies I think and we gave up trying to wash up at the sinks - too many people and unfortunately no hot water. I know the facilities are being upgraded this winter so we shall see what next year brings perhaps.
I would return to the site - but probably midweek not in the school hoildays a little too busy for us - but ideal for families I would have thought.

Just arrived home from BH weekend. What a beautifully placed site with tremendous views. As For Katie, George and Ollie what wonderful people so helpful, friendly and determined to keep their site up to scratch.I loved the way they always were around at about 10 p.m. going for a little walk without looking or saying anything negative. I am sure this is why the site went wonderfully peacefully quiet just after 11ish even though before all were having fun and the general hubbub was fun.
I know the facilities are going to be upgraded which is a good thing as they were struggling with a full site with rainstormms and I think a small block in the Sports field would be good. The weather let us down and two things I would advise is if you are in the overflow (sports) field bring ear plugs as the sheep tend to get Very loud at dawn and try not to be given the spot at the top right hand side with no bushes or trees as it's a wind tunnel. We found that everyone else was having a bit of a breezy time but we were being blown all over the place and whilst others lower down the field or in the inner part of the site had gazebos standing ours despite good pegging bowed and we had to take it down.
I can recommend the site and the best bit was whemn on Sunday night walking across the field to the loo in the dark I tripped over something and when i got my husband to shine his torch it was a hedgehog! Luckly it survived it's encounter with me.

We can't add anything to the reviews that have been submitted, just say that this is a wonderful site. The pitches are very well maintained and generous and it is very thoughtfully set out. If you are looking for a site that is peaceful, tranquil and picturesque, with friendly owners and campers then this is the one for you. The views are stunning whether you stay on the camp site or venture further away. There is hardly any noise on the site, just the sheep! Our only comment for improvement would be the shower block. Although it is kept immaculate by Katie and George it is cramped and dated. We will definitely be regulars to this site - very glad we stayed!!

We have just enjoyed our second stay at Fforest Fields. There is nothing we can say that hasn't been said in previous reviews. The location is fantastic, the site is impeccable, and the owners are very friendly. We go for the Royal Welsh show, arriving the weekend before it gets really busy. We stay in the overflow field that is put into use for the Show. Whilst this isn't landscaped, it is very well kept with a gravel road to the pitches. Despite the site filling up to capacity as Show week arrives, there is never any sense that the site can't cope. The washing facilities are plentiful and any queues at peak periods move quickly. Other reviewers have commented on the honesty box, which is great. I would like to think that because the owners treat their visitors with respect, we treat their site with respect as well. A few other sites we have visited would do well to take some lessons.
