Visited previously in 2008. Ladies toilets refurbished (gents not yet), cleaned 4 times a day. Your enjoyment may depend largely on where you are put. We were on hard standing, tucked into a corner by a screen hedge and felt relaxed and secluded. Our friends (also in a motorhome) were on the open grass area (muddy, standing water), at the end of one of the many rows of units, 1 metre from the track with folk looking in as they walked past, and 1 metre from next door's vehicle, so they sat with their blinds up.
Site's main virtue is proximity to the village - if you don't want to move (and park) a motorhome, there are regular cheap buses from here to Harrogate, Leeds, Ripon etc. Look out for outdoor theatre shows at Ripley Castle in the summer - you take a picnic, and it's a lot of fun. The walk to the village, however, is across a field (the road is too dangerous, fast traffic, no pavement). There's a new cycle route into the village, it would be ideal if this was extended across the field to the camp site. Cost £17, good value. Dog run is adequate, no more than that, not worth the £1 extra that the dog paid!

Let's set the scene. Rang on the day of our visit and was told only grass pitches but ground was firm so we decided to try our luck. 1 to 2 hours later we turned up and made our way to reception. The guy at reception knew nothing of our arrival. Shown to our pitches (as we took two units) and was sited on the wettest / softest / uneven grass pitches. Our friends in the other motorhome sank into the ground and had to be pulled out by a dumper. We did ask to be moved but warden told us we had to pitch where we were put, even though we noticed other more suitable pitches not been used in our stay. Not such a great idea to pitch a 6 ton vehicle on soft ground.
All that said the site is well presented and I am sure if you book in advance then you will get the type of pitch you want.
Small pool and indoor play area for kids.
Outdoor play area seem to keep the kids busy along with the ducks.
Shop has the usual essentials as long as you get there between the short opening times.
Previous reviews touched on the point that in our opinion owners have probably lost heart with this venture (didn't really interact with guests).
I am sure if it wasn't for the small team of wardens then this site wouldn't be half as good as it is.
Great showers with unlimited hot water.
Good links for onward visits.

We are just back from a four night stay at Ripley Park over Easter.
When we arrived we made our way to reception which we felt unfortunately was a little impersonal and far too business like.
We could have been told more about the site and facilities we felt. However negative over, we were taken to our pitch.
The site is just outside Ripley which is about 4 miles outside Harrogate. There is a bus stop a short walk from the site where you can catch a bus to Harrogate every 15 mins at a cost of £4 return.
The site is a lot bigger than you first imagine once you are in. There is a good sized activity area for kids with swings and such like. There is also a football field and an are set up for volley ball. There is an indoor swimming pool which is ok for an additional £1. 50 each. There is a toddlers play room and a games room with a couple of pool tables and a table tennis table.
The centre piece for me was the duck pond with lots of ducks walking freely around the site which we felt added some character to the place.
There is a shop opened a couple of hours a day at busy times stocking a range of essentials.
The showers and toilets were a little outdated but they were very clean and with plenty of hot water.
We really enjoyed our first visit to this site and we will definitely return.

Well arrived back after a nice long weekend away- The reception area was standard (we were not informed of what was in the area when booking in and they there was not much in the reception area to inform you either which I always find leaflets etc; helpful), it led towards a small swimming pool which looked full of kids, which for us we preferred not to bother with. The site was a lot bigger than I realised and well kitted for people with families with a games room and a park area which was nice for when our grandchildren came to visit for the day. We were placed next to the duck pond which was beautiful until it came to night time when they were doing there mating calls but that's only because I'm a light sleeper.
The showers were nice and clean, water was hot. The only thing with the showers were that they didn't appear very well ventilated as the mirrors were steamed up which was a nuisance. The area in itself was beautiful we did a lovely walk around the Ripley Castle and surrounding area. The walk to the local pub took about half an hour but it was very welcoming and friendly, although we found out after about the hotel in Ripley village did have a bar that you could access.
The neighbouring areas- Knaresborough, Harrogate and Studley Rodger all are very beautiful places and are easy to access and well worth a visit. All in all we enjoyed our stay there.

Very clean, well kept site. Big site but feels a bit crowded with no hedging and not much privacy. Lots of seasonal pitches. No tents allowed. BBQ must be off ground.
Toilets spotless and always open. Basic shop and a Saturday chippy van.
Staff polite and helpful but not overly welcoming. (Mobile phone seemed more important as usual). Swimming pool looked inviting. Free internet on some days else £1. 50pd.
Excellent site for folks visiting Harrogate. The No. 36 bus service runs nearby every 15 minutes to Harrogate (£4 rtn) or Leeds - parking is very expensive.
Meagre child play area and some deep water.
Would definitely return.

Just spent the last weekend of the season here, and was glad we did. We have stayed here 4 / 5 times before now (see previous reviews) and still stand by everything I have said. Great site which is why we have been so many times, every time we stay we like it that little bit more.
Pitch sizes are very generous, even a novice can get pitched up very easily, once you are booked in at reception you are shown promptly to you pitch where you are helped onto you pitch by the warden.
Great well run site.

Our first visit to Ripley Caravan Park and we will definitely be back.
On arrival you are dealt with promptly and directed to your pitch by friendly staff riding golf buggies who also answer all your questions before you've asked them.
Shop open three times a day but not licensed so bring your own beer/wine etc.
Games room for table tennis/pool tables/bandits and a television, play room for the smaller ones.
Very nice swimming pool for a minimal charge which was most welcome in the hot weather and a sauna too.
Very clean toilet/showers of which there are plenty and also very impressed that there are two of each in the same block so cleaning does not close them down(other sites take note)and disabled access/facilities.
Very large play area for the kids swings/frames etc. Which is locked during darkness so goes quiet when you'd expect it to and the kids come back to the units.
Football field with posts and nets for a kick about and dog walking area with poop bins.
Very nice pond area with ducks to feed.
Ripley only 10 minutes away with a footpath provided for residents only.
Only advice I can give is, be early in the queue for the mobile fish and chip van due to its popularity.

Just back from a fantastic weekend. The site staff were friendly. The pitches were great. The facilities were superb, a great park with separate ball game area and a lovely swimming pool.
The shower block was good and I really liked the fact that there were 2 blocks for each gender so during cleaning there was always a block open.
Ripley is close and worth a walk for ice cream and a lovely pub.
Knaresbrough is also lovely and a good day out.
Sad we were only there for the weekend as the weather was fab, we will be back and think this will be a regularly visited site.

Arrived at this site to a warm welcome and then shown to a grass pitch that was a very generous size.
Although the site was almost full it never seemed busy as it's well laid out with a beautiful duck pond close to our pitch.
The toilets and showers were very clean with plenty of hot water. There were two private washrooms, more would have been good.
The excellent children's play area was very much appreciated by my children as well as the small swimming pool which was very nice indeed.
The only negative point for me was the way the site is laid out it encourages people to inconsiderately walk through your pitch, one of my pet hates.
