Quiet site, a nice peaceful break. Unfortunately the weather was awful. I agree with most comments, the park wardens were lovely people, friendly and very helpful as was another man who we seen regularly, but the owners on the other hand weren't as pleasant / friendly.
Can't fault the park wardens for keeping the site clean, the toilet / shower block was a nightmare for them with the amount of water / mud but it was still kept spotless. Showers were the cleanest on a site I've seen for a while, I dropped a white towel and it stayed white! 20p for hairdryers, only downside was no plug socket to use your own in the block. Handy baby bath sink in the ladies for those with a little one. Washing up / clothes washing sinks also kept clean and tidy.
Shop was open 8.30am-10am then 5pm-6pm with an opening of 1-2pm in high season, which was more than enough really, but if you need bread get it in the morning! 25p a bag for duck food which kept my sons more than entertained.
Reception was open until 10pm and had a large amount of information about the local area, maps and information on attractions near by. Park would be an ideal base to visit Harrogate, Ripon, maybe even Lightwater Valley, when the weather allows.
Pool was warm and again kept clean by the site staff, £1 per swim or £2.50 for 3 day pass, £5.00 for a weeks pass which was reasonable and enough of a cost to make sure it wasn't packed 24/7 when it rained.
Playground was locked up at night every night, all the equipment was in very good order.
Dog walking area was a little small, trying to avoid the tree roots at night wasn't easy! However the grass was kept short and bins emptied regularly.
Washing machines £1.50 and driers 50p for 25 minutes can't be moaned about either, but a bit busy with the weather for them to only have one of each.

This was our 2nd time this year we have stayed at this site, and what can I say. Its a fantastic site, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the showers are very clean and the water is hot. There is a family ran butchers in the village of Ripley, which is very reasonable. I give him £10 and asked him to put me a barbecue pack together, we got burgers, steaks, sausages, chicken fillets and a lot more.
Also in the village of Ripley is the Star club, this is situated next to the post office and it is very reasonably priced. We are booked on again for the August bank holiday and are looking forward to our stay.

As with most of the reviews, I can't fault the site itself, its scenic, quiet and very easy to find. I spent 3 nights with wife and my 2 children ages 3 & 5.
The weather was not pleasant, with quite a lot of rain, the site does get very flooded very quickly however it drains away just as quick, avoid pitches near the toilet blocks, this seem to be the worst effected.
The site is in a good location to visit the beautiful town of Knaresborough (4 miles) and Harrogate (3 miles).
The only downside to the site were the staff, lots of reviewers have said that they found them friendly, we actually found them miserable, not many smiles or hello goodbye etc. This was the only real gripe, I would still visit this site again.

Ripley is a great site with loads of facilities; a games room, large toilet block (great water pressure), swimming pool, washing up room, large play area, small shop and laundry facilities. I would think that it was great for families as there is so much to do on site. The site had too much going on for us and we were looking for something quieter. Nevertheless, everything was well maintained and staff were very helpful! Local pubs are a fair walk away. Dogs are welcome. There are loads of rabbits and ducks to be seen on site.

Just had a fantastic time here and met some really nice people. The site is great for a relaxing holiday and has the cleanest toilets and showers that you will find anywhere, there was always someone cleaning them while we were there. Ripley is a lovely little village and the ice cream that everyone raves about is super, and only 5 minutes walk. Harrogate is a stones throw away and Knaresborough also. We had a dip in the site pool which was lovely and warm and our 5 year old daughter loved it.
We will definitely be going back,. Soon.

We have just returned from having 10 nights on this site and have to say it was a great place and I would highly reccomend it. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the games room on site was good. The toilets were always kept clean and even in the height of the season were never too busy. Also after 10 at night there is very little noise on site. One thing I would say would be to check the opening times of the site shop as it was hard to find a time when it was open. The local chip van that comes on site on a Saturday can also be highly reccomended. A great site and a great holiday!

A lovely site with many spaceous pitches, we were located in the upper tent field which had electric points but was pretty hard to get a good level.
The electric points can be a distance from your van so you may need to have an extension if on this part of the site. The toilets were spotless, childrens play area very tidy and locked up at the 22:00 curfew.
Grassed area for ball games located at the bottom of the site but not used by all occupants, my van has numerous ball prints down the side and a number of cars in our area sport matching marks due to kids and parents not paying attention to the site rules.
The site has small onsite shop which has slightly odd opening times, I would make note of when it is open. The pool is clean and a reasonable size, there are goggles and armbands on sale in the shop should you forget.
A good location for Bettys tea rooms, Mother Shiptons Cave and Ripleys world famous Ice Cream Parlour. Our kids 9 and 10 loved it (Especially the pool).
All in all a lovely stay with the exception of the footballers using our outfit as goals, I know kids are kids but rules are rules.
I would also note the events that take place at Ripley Castle, during our stay they had an ABBA / Madness event which was clearly audible from our location. Http://www.Ripleycastle.Co.Uk/news.Html
TV Signal not so good based on the standard Status roof mount, however no problems with Satellite signal.
We will be back but on a serviced pitch next time.

We used this site for one night whilst cycle touring recently. We arrived on a day of gale force winds and asked for a sheltered spot (tongue in cheek). We were made to feel very welcome and taken to the tent area and offered advice on where the best place to pitch might be. The site was lovely, really clean and with nice plantings and a pond. Loads of water birds and rabbits to entertain us as we lay in the tent. The toilet block, showers and laundry facilities were all first class. One very minor gripe was that the staff warned us against going to the Boars Head in Ripley as it was so expensive and suggested we cycle a mile and a half down the road to the next village where there are two pubs. We did this but neither of them were doing food so we had to come back to Ripley and the Boars Head anyway. (The food was a bit pricey but it was excellent). Definitely a site I would visit again.

A good site that we would happily return to. Generous space allocation, mostly hard stands for motorhomes and caravans: some are serviced (stand pipe and waste water drain). Separate area for tents. Trees and shrubs mean you're less aware of how many units there are. Friendly management.
Excellent toilet facilities with free showers (though they were having boiler problems on our visit); the toilet block is spotless and is cleaned without being closed, so you don't have to watch the clock in the morning. We didn't use the swimming pool. A pond on site means the ducks, coots and moorhens are a constant source of entertainment: one duck left an egg in the grass by our motorhome which we saved from the four crows and had for breakfast.
Tiny dog run, but it served its purpose. Ripley itself is a very pretty planned village and only a short walk away across a field. Its icecream is legendary. The Boars Head is an excellent place for an evening meal in the pub or restaurant, with a splendid wine list and real ales. Watch out for theatre performances and shows in the grounds of Ripley Castle - we saw Twelth Night as a promenade show: you take your own picnic dinner with you, and it was an excellent evening.
Harrogate is worth a day's visit for its leafy character and individual shops. Plenty of houses and gardens nearby (entry free for Friends of the Historic Houses Association): Ripley Castle is very interesting, and also does tours for children on Sundays. RHS gardens at Harlow Carr are also superb.

Had a very enjoyable short break at this site over the May bank holiday period. We found the site to be very clean, including the toilets and showers and the water was always hot. Our two daughters, aged 8 and 7, especially enjoyed the playground and the swimming pool (the pool was very clean, a bit on the small side but suffice for kids). We were lucky to have a pitch right beside the lake, the children discovered a nest full of 6 eggs, unfortunately they still hadn't hatched when we went home! We spent a nice day at nearby Brimham Rocks, make sure you wear good walking shoes. We also enjoyed Knaresborough visiting both Mother Shipton's Cave and the swimming pool for the kids which has a flume. Whilst at Knaresborough we had a very good meal at The Hart which was very reasonably priced and buy one get one free!
