Just spent a fantastic 2 days over Easter weekend at this site. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Plenty for the kids to do, large park on site, a games room and a lovely heated swimming pool. Toilet and shower facilities spotlessly clean. Great weekend all round. Definetly visit again in the next few weeks.

Just returned back from an Easter break at Ripley Caravan Park. The site lives up to its grading. Toilets clean all times of day and night. Hard standing pitches are spacious for a twin axle caravan and awning. Plenty of space between you and your neighbour. The site is very tidy. On site shop is open at various times throughout the day. (and reasonably priced) .
The site was full but wasn't over crowded. The sun shined throughout our stay which does make a difference. Swimming pool is still 75p each. Plenty of room for the little ones to let off steam. Kite flying, football etc. Visited York which is approx 1/2 hr away by car. Use the Rawcliffe Bar park and ride. £2.00 per adult and kids go free for a return journey. The bus drops you almost outside York minster. It saves the stress of having to find parking in York around midday.
Ripley is a 5 minute walk from the site through a field or there is a large free car park in Ripley if walking is difficult. In Ripley the Castle, gardens and deer park costs approx £25 for a family of 5. There are also a few shops selling ice cream etc. Will we visit the area and site again? Most certainly. In fact we've booked for Spring Bank

Dispite the weather been against us we had a lovely relaxing break. The surrounding area was splendid with the autumnal colours. The boys enjoyed the play area, the games room and the heated swimming pool. Hope to go again when hopefully the weather may be kinder.
The toilets and shower block were excellent and clean. There is an excellent place to eat in the nearby village where Sunday Lunch is a must. Our thanks also to the staff who were chearful and helpful which went along way to making our stay a good one

September 2005 Stayed here for 2 nights last weekend. Loved it. Toilets and shower facilities spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. Ground nice and flat to pitch our tent. No pub on site but that didn't bother us.We read about the fish and chip van that comes round at certain times but missed it. All in all We would recomend this site.

September 2005 Just come back from a weekend here. Everything about the site was excellent. £13.50 a night for a Tourer 2ad,3ch & 1 infant with hardstanding and electric hookup. On arrival we were shown to our pitch. Heated indoor swimming pool 75p each. As you can see level headed pricing. Plenty to keep the children entertained rain or shine. Free showers and toilets were kept clean throughout our stay. Nippy Chippy van on Saturday evenings. Fish Excellent, Chips Good. 10 minute walk to Ripley Castle again good value for money (when the sun shines which we were blessed with).Car boot sale on Sunday only a 5 minute walk. Definately be back for a week or maybe 2.

August 2005 A relaxing place to visit with children. Everything was spotlessly clean. Our pitch was a good size so we could easily fit on our 6 man tent, plus gazebo and car and trailer. We were pitched near the football field which was great as the children could go off and play with the friends they made and we could see them from our seats just outside the tent. I personally would not want a pitch near the slide and play area as this tended to be busy until fairly late at night (10 to 10.30 pm). The pool was lovely and although small it was far from crowded when we visited. I would definitely visit again if we are in the area.

August 2005 What a fantastic site
We spent 5 nights here in indiffernt weather in our haven 8 tent.
Where to start.....
The site is a large park 300m from the village / hamlet / street of Ripley in North Yorkshire. The site is split up using treas and small wooden fences. The fences are a tempory measure as there are young trees growing next to them.
There is an indoor swimming pool, onsite shop, excellent showers (powerfull and very hot) laundary and washing up station. A mobile chippy visits the site twice a week (wednesday and saturday)during high season and on just a saturday at low season.
Grumbles first
There are only two washing up sinks in the station. A sthere were over 50 tents on the site you often had to queue to do the dishes!! However as everyone was very friendly this was a good way to meet new people.
The onsite shop is poorly stocked and runs out of bread and newspapers within the first hour of opening.
The ground on our pitch had a large amount of stones under the surface which obviously provide drainage but also led to over 20 tent pegs being bent!
Positives
The staff - fantastic, cannot do enough for you, friendly to all the family both adults and kids.
The showers - Hot clean and powerfull. Infact the entire site is clean and cleaned on a very regular basis.
Family orientated - lots for the kids to do (there is a fantastic duck pond where the ducks can be fed and an excellent adventure play park)
Well drained - we had a few very heavy showers but the site did not pool and the water never stayed on the surface.
Location - Based in onbe of the best areas of North Yorkshire there is loads to do on days out from such free activities as walking and cycling, through to National Trust sites, model villages, steam railways, chocoalte factories, castles, waterfalls and shops.
Price it cost us just £16 per night for a HUGH tent (sun camp haven 8) two adults and three kids and an extra car.
We had an excellent time at this site and have decided to make it the base of our operations for next years summer holiday staying at least 7 - 8 nights.
One final thing you MUST do when at this site.... visit Ripley and the ICE CREAM SHOP!!!!
Go! Go now do not delay.

August 2005 This is a lovely well kept site, with good facilities for kids and is an excellent centre for touring round this beautiful part of the country. The pool was great for the kids and the staff were friendly. It was only a short drive to nearby Harrogate or Knaresborough, both picturesque towns. One downside for me, (which does seem to be an issue with a lot of sites) is the limited dog exercise facilities. It basically amounted to a 50 yard footpath which is ok for small dogs but a bit restrictive if you have a more energetic dog, but other than that I would recommend this site.

July 2005 The whole site was FANTASTIC, apart from the smallest problem. The ground was so hard I bent the majority of my tent pegs tryin to put them in. Clean, tidy, freindly, SUPERB place. We are now arranging our next visit in a couple of weeks. Tried all the local activities and made freinds with lots of people. The kids made lots of friends as well.
