Lovely site, very family orientated with good facilities, tents well catered for with good pitches. Staff were on the whole friendly with 1 exception though I think she is mentioned by other reviewers! Good range of facilities, one moan would be about the showers, having to hold the button in whilst trying to have a shower is not ideal! Fish and chip van visited twice a week and worth the queue, nice curry sauce! Will use again!

This was our first camping trip and what a fantastic site. Great space for large and small tents, the staff were very helpful, great facilities clean shower/toilet areas.
Great park for the kids. Just a 10min walk to Ripley village, there is an old style sweet shop and world famous ice creams and the local pub accepts children which is great. All in all if this is your first caravan/camping trip you wont be disapointed we will be going back to this site with our children. A credit to this site others should follow.

My husband, myself and our 6yr old daughters first stay at this site, would definitely return. My daughter enjoyed the playpark and playing football on the playing field. Spent a morning in the swimming pool at £1.00 each. Good facilities free showers. All pitches were ideal, has trees to shield the wind if any, we were lucky weather was good. Has shop on site. Has duck pond on site which my daughter liked. Overall we found it to be a well run friendly site.

This was a last minute booking as we suddenly had the chance to get away but couldn't go far.
The site was easy to find and helpful in pitch allocation. Most staff were friendly and helpful, but some were a bit grumpy!
Although it was busy we still managed to get a swim in and the play area certainly kept the kids entertained.
Toilets were clean and tidy. Shop was handy, but a short walk into Ripley provided a wonderful butchers and farm shop.
The weekend was made by our friendly neighbours and we would visit again if we were short on time and just needed a quick getaway.

What a fantastic site! Great staff and facilities and a wonderful spot for all of Yorkshire incl Fountains Abbey and Lightwater Valley not to mention York. The weekend was busy but that was not a problem as all pitches were well allocated and placed. Ripley village and castle next door and you could also enjoy a firework display on the Saturday evening when there was a wedding on at the castle. This site should be a model for others.

We only stayed at this caravan park for the weekend, we had a nice relaxing time.
The campsite has a well stocked shop and very reasonable prices. It also has an indoor swimming pool and sauna. It has a really good park for the older children, which our little boy loved. It also had a room with a variety of toys for toddlers to play in. Situated next to the playroom was a games room with a pool table, table tennis table and games machines.
On a Saturday night a mobile fish and chip van comes onto site, I can honestly say the fish and chips are exceptionally good.
Ripley village is within walking distance and Harrogate town centre is only a ten minute drive.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Site fees are very reasonable.

Just returned from a lovely weekend here (The weather was lovely, which does help), haven't been for a number of years as we were put off in the past by the noise, however this weekend we were pitched quite some distance from the playground which meant it was lovely and quiet and our little man didn't mind the walk to the playground. He very much enjoyed feeding the ducks, as they visited the van regularly.
The staff were pleasant and the toilet block always clean.
The swimming pool is small but adequate. Nice area. We will be back.

On arrival if there is more than two units checking in space is tight and traffic doesn't move, you are shown to your pitch following a golf buggy. The pitches are tight and people are always walking close by or kids on bikes and the odd duck.
Toilets are clean but stall type like school. Showers are free but not much space. All in all not a bad site but not one that leaves me wanting to rush back.

When we stayed we were lucky enough to have glorious sunshine. This was our first expedition for 2 years and our little boy is now 3 and a half years old and we also have a seven month old baby. Also 2 dogs, but we have always had them!
I had read the reviews and asked in advance to be pitched by the playground. I was glad I had as our 3 year old spent all of his time there with all his new friends! The baby was able to watch the children and was kept happily amused.
Plus points; fab playground, large pitches for tents and all with electric, clean toilet / shower block (despite the site being rammed) although some people need to learn showering etiquette and mop up after themselves! great little swimming pool, nice chips from the chippy van that visits on a saturday teatime, good effort with the recycling, nice walk into Ripley, very friendly pub / hotel in Ripley which is really posh but welcomed us with our buggy, child, and 2 dogs into their beer garden.
Negatives; one staff member very sullen (although all the others really nice), the dog walk is a nice gesture but no good at all for 2 large dogs who need a lot of exercise in fact there was nowhere nearby that they could be let off their leads, and finally no bar which is not of huge importance to us as we were well stocked but the bloke next to us was a bit peeved.
Definitely a good site if you have children, but we may not return purely because of the dog walking. We have to please everyone in our family!

Really nice campsite. Is quite large and was full over the weekend we stayed. We had a really nice pitch next to the ball field, the pitch was very spacious with lots of room for our dome tent and people carrier, with room left over. The campsite has a good playground which our two kids (aged 4 and 3) loved.
The site shop was basic but sold what you'd need. The kids loved the swimming pool which was very good value at £1 each. The walk into Ripley village took about 10 minutes with the kids, cutting across the field. We had a lovely couple of drinks in the beer garden at the Boars Head, and the kids liked the ice cream.
All in all, this was a lovely campsite, a bit noisier than some perhaps but very spacious, clean with good facilities and in a gorgeous location. We will definitely come again.
