July 2003 Lovely - neat, tidy, clean, great staff & facilities, with the icing on the cake being the visiting fish & chip van. The pool is great to have but it is only small - wouldn't recommend travelling miles to Ripley if that is what is attracting you. Well laid out with play area in the middle & safe for the children to head off to alone. We're going back in 2004.

July 2003 We would highly recommend this site, we have stayed here 2 years and each time found the site very well looked after. The toilets are kept very clean, as is the whole of the camp site. All the staff are efficient and friendly. The use of the swimming pool is not that expensive but the pool is small so don`t go when crowded. There are lots of places to visit nearby. I would stay again when I return to Yorkshire.

June 2003 Have just returned from a weekend camping at Ripley Caravan Park near Harrogate in North Yorkshore. We were very impressed with this site which is in the countryside about 3-4 miles from Harrogate. Although the site was full when we were camping there it was still very peaceful.
The site has some static caravans which are in a separate area from the main touring area, there was a separate area for trailer tents and tents with or without electric hook up. The site is very level and we were impressed with the quality of our pitch though the ground seemed stony under the grass and we had a bit of trouble getting tent pegs in.
Shower and toilet areas and washing up area all very clean and didn't have to wait in spite of the site being full. Nice swimming pool, a small charge of 75p per person and though the site was busy the pool was fairly quiet the couple of times we used it. Shop seemed fairly basic, open for around an hour 3 times per day but seemed to stock the main items. There is a Safeway in Harrogate and an Asda superstore which is open til 10pm on Saturday nights including the Pharmacy which we visited for hayfever remedy - only takes 10 minutes in the car.
My 4 year old daughter loved the play area - kept her occupied for most of the 2 days we camped and she thought the duck pond with the baby ducks was wonderful. Because she enjoyed being at the site so much we didn't do a lot of sight seeing but went to Brimham Rocks which is definately worth a visit and Pately Bridge where there is another nice little play area and walk along by the river.
My only gripe if I had one was the dog walking area which I felt was a bit small - a run of about 150 yards which went behind the tent area to a dog "loo" which was about 6 foot square and which my dog refused to go in. This was the only area you could let the dog off the lead ( there are several fields around the site but all had sheep in while we were there). When I let my dog off the lead in the dog run he was so bored he went back to the tent again! I would certainly recommend this site, though and we will definately be revisiting it in the future.

june 2003 we recently booked a whole family weekend at ripley, 13 adults,7 kids and 5 tents. we all had a fantastic time, even the sun was shining for a change. The facilities were fabulous, we even had fish and chips from a portable caravan on the saturday night. The kids loved the swimming pool, and the games room, we had a game of 10-a-side football(ADULTS CHEATING) as there was a junior pitch were our tents where. The washing facilities were great, the toilets and showers were spotless, all the staff were very friendly.pitch fees including electric hook-up was very reasonable, we all enjoyed it so much we have booked a week in july.

We have just spent the long Easter weekend here and had a great time. The site has both grass and hard standings and is set around a large duck pond, it has a pool(indoor, heated) a kids play area a play room for under 6's and a games room with table tennis tables and pool tables as well as a tv, for the older kids.Everywhere remained clean and tidy as the bins were emptyied regularly. There is a large shower and toilet block with plenty of powerful and hot showers(free) a washing up area also with constant hot water(free)and a laundry room. For those of us with dogs there is a dog walk where you can let the dog off the lead for a run. There are areas for tents and also trailer tents.A short walk across a field( safer than the road) takes you to Ripley Castle and the wonderful ice-cream shop and old fashioned butchers as well as a general store (although the site shop is well stocked).
