Well we've just returned from our 2nd visit to Ripley Caravan Park and yet again came home feeling happy and relaxed. Such a lovely site, with lots of wildlife and superbly kept site. Toilet?shower block cleaned regularly and always in tip top condition, lovely heated indoor pool. Good access into Harrogate and surrounding areas. The cream of the cream when it comes to Wardens, Cath and Dave are fantastic, super friendly and always there to help and give advice on the local area. Thanks again both of you, perfect couple to run this lovely site!

This is an amazing site, very clean and tidy, this is our second stay. On arrival the reservation is very well organised. The facilities, showers, WC are well managed very clean and lovely hot water. Good site all round and very reasonable. Will definitely return
Although didn't have children there are great facilities lovely park and heated indoor pool! The site is very close to Harrogate, no faults at all. Great all round site for everyone!

Just had another 5day break here. [see my earlier post]
It was midweek, so fairly quiet, the staff found us a secluded spot [on our request]. Fortunately, it was quiet anyway due to 'the schools' not being on holiday.
Things to do?. We had a day on the Embsay Steam Railway and another day on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
Ripon is a lovely little town. [as is Harrogate & Knaresbrough]. But Ripon somehow is the nicest. Masham is nice too.
The local pub in the nearby village of Ripley sell good value sandwiches [the main food menu looked a tad expensive, but if its the same value as the sandwiches, it may well be worth the money].
The local wildlife is good, we had a hedgehog visit us most nights, and despite being well away from 'the duckpond' a pair of Mallards made our caravan a regular visit. The site also has a large population of rabbits. [it was hilarious watching a rabbit chase a coot/moorhen away from its young rabbits one morning]
I cant really comment on 'child friendliness' of the site, because we didn't have our grandchildren with us, but the children's playground looks good, and there is also a field reserved for 'ball games'. [presumably it saves the irritating 'thud' of a ball hitting your caravan. ]
All in all. Another great break at this lovely site. We're hoping to visit again this year, this next time with our grand children.

We have just returned from a two night [midweek] stay here, we found the site staff pleasant & helpful, the facilities toilets top class, pitches vary with 'grass' or 'hardstanding'. We opted for 'grass'. Which was short & neatly cut.
A previous reviewer has complained about 'duck poo'. Despite being near to the Duck Pond and a large presence of ducks, we found no such problem. [my only worry was that the ducks would raid my BBQ, or that they would upset our rather feisty Jack Russell Terrier. Fortunately, neither occurred]
There is a small 'dog-walk' area on the edge of the park [along with a 'ball games' area. Which we though is nice touch]
The swimming pool is rather small, but the water was a nice temperature, and not 'over-chlorinated' [as many pools are]. It was nice to take a dip there one afternoon. A bargain at £1. 50. There is also a Sauna [we're intending to try that next time].
You can order a daily paper at the small on site shop. Order it the day before though. If you miss out, the local Post Office/General Convenience Store in the village of Ripley sell papers
The Post Office also sells snacks. We bought a Scotch Egg & a Yorkshire Pasty. These might sound like the normal snack one could buy anywhere. But with a twist, we found both contain a large amount of 'pork pie' style filling, very different, and delicious. Both proved to be a meal in itself.
There is a small indoor 'playroom' for the kids, and a larger room with pool/billiard tables for the older children, as well as a children's playground, I would have no hesitation bringing my grand-kids here.
We are totally new to the caravan aspect of touring [despite having spent many years and toured most of England as 'Trailer Tenters' ]. This was only our second outing with our new caravan, fortunately an understanding neighbour helped us with a bit of advice and our awning [thanks Bill, if youre reading this].
TV reception is very good. [although, if you're used to juggling with & adjusting a small aerial in a trailer tent, the built in aerial on our caravan seemed like a luxury].
On the downside, it is a large site, and I guess it may get busy during Peak Season Weekends. We are normally used to smaller quieter sites, although I suspect the staff would try to accommodate you in a quiet place if you asked.
Would I go back????. Despite having a rule that we never visit the same site twice in a year, YES, we've booked to back next week. There looks to be lots to do/visit in the area, so we will be looking into that next week. [watch this space?]
TBH, I would give this site 11 out of 10 if I could.

Stayed here for one night. They normally only do two so was nice to be accommodated.
The site itself is suitable for kids it has a play area and games room and swimming pool, though this was closed due to refurb.
Toilet block seemed a bit tired, but showers hot and powerful.
However, the toilets were frequently soiled. This was not a fault of the owners, it is the people using them not having courtesy to others who need to use them. The management do check the facilities frequently.
Site is close to Ripley, an hours walk to Harrogate or a short bus ride, we did half and half.
The staff at the site were helpful, one chap helped us put the van on to the pitch and another gave us directions to walk or bus in to Harrogate
Nice site for families

Our only regret is that we could only stay for one night, as we were on our way home from France. The welcome from the wardens was excellent and the experience completed a memorable holiday. A peaceful site with pool, sauna, ducks and moorhens!

We think the last time we visited was about 30 years ago, but we needed to somewhere in Harrogate for a couple of nights mid week so we returned. It is a very large site with spacious pitches, we got one on the banks of the duck pond :-) The wardens were all very friendly. Best summed up as informal but professional. The site was very clean, and we often saw the wardens picking up litter whilst doing other jobs. The toilets and the swimming pool/ sauna look tired and need a refurb. We intended a swim every day but after our first one didn't use it again.
We (I'm an OAP with a heart condition) walked from the site to Harrogate (about 4. 5 miles) along the old railway line (sustrans 67). A great walk but be warned it is uphill every step of the way. It is only 1 in 120, but it goes on & on. Suggest you go into Harrogate (starts in ASDA car park) and walk or cycle downhill to the site.

Had a fantastic 4 nights at Ripley Caravan Park.
Came here with a family of 4 which included 2 little people aged 7 & 3.
The wardens and staff are very friendly and are always available if you need help as are the other caravaners.
The park is great for the kids as is the pool.
The wildlife is great with ducks wandering around all day and hedgehogs roaming on a night time.
Being overly critical, the site could do with a pub (not a clubhouse).
A nice pub to have a couple of beers and a nice meal would just make this park a 10.
Had a fab time and would go back.
Thank you Ripley Caravan Park.

We've been coming to this site for over a year now, always need to book as its busy, kids love it. Facility's and park are all excellent it's a very well kept site BUT the only let down is the attitude of the staff (not all of them) We feel as if the older generation are priority. We all help paying there wages and more so a family of 6 than a couple!
We think the site would benefit from an updated booking system
Overall excellent site but staff could do with a lesson in customer service with a smile and to treat everyone the same!

Fairly big site of mainly touring and static caravans with smaller field with tent pitches at top out of way which was nice and quiet. Site layout around a central children's playground which got very busy and noisy, although quietened down by 10pm. Staff really helpful and friendly, I even had a ride in golf cart to our pitch! Warden very proud of site and its growth over years. Plenty of toilets and shower's, never seen such a busy site with so many quiet facilities! Great location with short walk through a field into Ripley for icecream and a beer. On great bus route 36, ripon-Leeds. Would recommend and return one day.
