Another nice stay at this campsite, toilets very clean as was the site.

We had a day out in Ripon which has a very good selection of shops, we used the bus with has stops just a short walk away, use the field to reach these as the road is very busy, we noticed a new hand gate had been erected at the top of the field, this made it much better as the old one came out on the road.

The only problem we had at this campsite was the amount of children riding bikes around the roads of the site, a sign warns drivers 5mph only on site, then your cut up or overtaken by a child on a pushbike going a lot faster.

Perhaps they should have a area for Adults only, if they do, they don't tell you about it.

Site seemed to have more static tourers this visit.

If you like Ducks this is the site for you.

Would visit again.

Just back from this site for 2 nights during September, we only live in north Leeds so the site was easy to get to in 30mins. The site was lovely and clean and had really nice toilets and great showers. The site has a good playground for kids and our pitch was opposite and could be better placed to watch the kids. We had a hard standing plot too which we like. The staff we very helpful, our electric cable did not reach but they lent us one for a £20 deposit. The tv signal wasn't great with a digital tv we couldn't get X factor :-( ! My husband took the kids swimming, it was great, small but kids loved it. We drove firer Nortth to middles or on Saturday and did a great walk which included the How Stean Gorge which was fab we went through 2 caves and walked through the gorge, had a beer at the cafe too.

This camp site only had 2 down sides, no pub / restaurant in walking distance when it's rainy etc. Also the shop only opens 3 times a day for an hour at a time, not too bad but not great when you realise at 18:05 you need some fuses!

Generally a nice clean site with a pool and play area. We would recommend for people who want to be near Harrogate

 Fri to Sun 11/13 Oct.

A large impersonal site with a lot of static homes and seasonal pitches and expensive. Pitch £17 per couple. Older teenage son £4, Porch Awning £2. = £23 per night low season.

Had this been in Summer (High Season) this would have been £28 per night.

Swimming pool (very small) was covered over. Games room, 2 pool tables, 50p per game and one table tennis table.

This is the most expensive site we have stayed at and will not be returning.

Poor value for money especially if staying in high season given the number of sites in this area.

Advertises 10% reduction for Senior Citizens, low season, but was told it does not include weekends which is not mentioned on their Tariff.

Just arrived back and this one is definitely going onto the list to return!

I booked a few hours before arriving due to last minute plans and what a friendly reception we received. From the moment I called to ask for a plot, I knew I'd made the right choice.

A warm welcome and book in, escorted to the plot, had everything explained and pointed out and was asked if I needed any help with anything!

Showers were lovely and warm, water for washing was nice and hot. I was stopped and asked twice in the week if the water was warm enough in the ladies. No queues for showers or toilets. Plenty of room. Even has separate sinks with a mirror and shower curtain round so I could clean my teeth in private.

Lovely large sink for baby bathing and great play area if you have small kids. Noise curfew of 10 was great and politely enforced if necessary. Lovely little duck pond in the middle with lots of chicks on to occupy the little ones at the mo.

Great field at the back for ball games for older kids.

Extremely clean and well maintained. One of the guys was out every morn sweeping the paths and raking the kids play area. Bins, toilets and showers were constantly maintained.

Overall, we loved this place and we will be back! Thank you for having us at such short notice

We loved this park and really couldn't fault it.

Big flat pitches with plenty of space, we were shown to ours by a lovely warden and he pointed out where everything was. The grounds were hard but this could be due to the hot weather spell, we simply pegged in at an angle as we didn't have any rock pegs with us.

Facilities were superb, plenty of clean showers, toilets and wash basins so there was never a queue and the park was full. There's even a baby bath at standing height so I could wash my 3yr old easily (she has a fear of showers!)

The on site shop opens 3 times a day for about an hour a time and has pretty much everything you would need. There is also a fish n chip van every Saturday evening but be prepared to queue, they were fantastic as cooked fresh to order, hence the wait but well worth it!

The indoor pool was a welcome treat (£1. 50 adult & £1 child) with small but adequate changing facilities. We loved it. The children's playground and ball field were perfect for our lttle girl and she loved making lots of friend there.

The site is within walking distance (through a private field along a hedge walk)to Ripley village which has a pub, butchers shop and a tea room, it's also close to the castle and the firework display on Saturday night (we guess for a wedding) was a nice treat.

Overall a lovely site kept in great condition by some lovely people. They ensure it's quiet after 10pm but without being 'bossy'. One of the wardens gave me and my daughter a lift back to our tent from the shop on his golfing buggy which she was tickled pink with! We'll certainly be returning.

Just returned from Ripley's Caravan Park and we have had a really good stay.

We were escorted to the pitch and shown where to pitch, where the EHU and where all the facilities were. The pitches were a good size and had no problems even with our Maritsa 700. I would really recommend rock pegs on this site as there seems to be about 4' of soil then stone underneath, but don't let this put you off. The toilets and showers were nice with plenty of hot water. The park was full when we were there but the facilities seemed to be coping with everyone. There is a dog walk and children's ball playing area away from the tents/caravans. The playground is a good size and seemed to accommodate all the children that were playing there. They lock it up on a night and this helps calm the site down.

The team of staff are always around and are never too far away if you need help. The ducks are also a nice distraction for the kids especially if the young ducklings decide to come out for a walk with mother duck!

Overall this is a good site and is in a good location to visit some of the local towns. You can hear the odd road traffic in the distance but this is nothing to worry about or let your stay be spoilt. I can't think of any serious negatives to say about the park other than the hard ground.

We have visited this site 6+ times as its not far from us plus we can't fault it at all. If you want somewhere to stay for a quiet weekend this is the place. Its a very basic site compared to some we have stayed in but it has everything you need for a weekend stop.

The playground is more than adequate and always busy when we have stopped, child loves it and quickly picks up little camping friends. They also have a swimming pool for a small charge and a games room for older children.

Toilet block always clean, nice hot shower.

Pitches are perfect, we usually get a visit from the ducks.

The staff are pleasant and friendly.

Good location for visiting York, knaresborough or Harrogate.

I can't wait to get a few dates booked in this year.

We booked this campsite for Whitsun week based upon the reviews already written and we were not disappointed.

The staff are all very friendly and was surprised to read previous comments to the contrary. We were welcomed at Reception (even though we were early) and were shown around the campsite on the way to our pitch (which was generous in size).

There is ample entertainment for kids with a football pitch, volleyball net, indoor table tennis and two pool tables, an indoor swimming pool and a great little playground for the under 10s. Our kids were also highly entertained by the ducks that wander around the campsite at leisure.

We were situated close to the park which the kids loved and this was locked up at 22:00. The park was usually silent by 22:30 at the latest.

The showers are dated but spotlessly clean and with plenty of hot water. There are two undercover washing up sinks at the end of the shower block which also had no shortage of hot water.

The rubbish bins are emptied regularly and there are plenty of recycling bins available too.

The shop is open three times a day for an hour each time with everything reasonably priced. You can order a newspaper to be picked up each morning at no extra cost. There is a 24/7 Asda ten minutes away (by car) on the edge of Harrogate.

The site was busy all week with a regular turnover of visitors but everybody drives carefully and the tracks are very wide for cars/caravans.

There is a mobile fish & chip van that calls in every Saturday evening but we were very impressed with Jenny’s fish bar on the road to Asda (Harrogate).

Although dogs are allowed on this site (we’re not ‘dog’ people), there is a separate pathway for them to be walked and we didn’t hear any barking, growling, etc during our stay.

There is plenty to do in the area with Knaresboro, Harrogate, York close by and Ripley Castle (including a fabulous ice cream shop) a short walk away. Brimham Rocks, Malham and Ingleton Falls are great for exploring and Lightwater Valley is an excellent theme park (which is covered by Tesco clubcard vouchers).

The site is very bike-friendly and a cycle path into Harrogate has been recently opened.

Pleasant large site convenient for Harrogate (good bus service from Ripley) Relatively expensive - perhaps because of indoor pool - which we didn't have time to use anyway! Site fairly empty when we were there.

Historic village of Ripley about 15 mins walk away - couple of somewhat trendy grocers shops and couple of cafes.

Never seen so many ducks - of all shapes and sizes. Good fun!

We have just returned from 3 nights staying over the bank holiday weekend. The site was completely full. I had requested a pitch next to the pond and was really glad I had as this was by far the nicest area of the park. If you have young children this wouldn't be the best area due to the pond being unfenced so IMHO the next nicest area would be the grass pitches adjacent to the dog walk/ball field as this had some natural screening provided by trees. I would not have liked to have been in the central area (mostly hardstanding pitches) as with no screening between pitches the area looked really cluttered with caravans.

For us and our 2 girls the pond was a lovely focal point, we spent a lot of time happily feeling the cute ducklings and found this area quiet with regards to people, the ducks were less quiet but I did not mind this at all! We were parked next to their home after all! The play area is a good focal point for children and there is a field for ball games.

I found the staff friendly and we were grateful to be able to extend our stay until 4pm on our final day paying only £2. 50 enabling us to spend another day in the area.

The site is perfectly located for Fountains abbey and Brimham rocks, both of which we loved. We popped into Harrogate one evening and ate at Pizza express (courtesy of tesco clubcard!) and this is nearby. We didn't make it into Ripley itself ironically but drove through and it looked really pretty.

The shower block is fine, not the best we have used nor the worst. There are 2 separate area within the same block for ladies, we preferred the larger area which seems to have been updated more recently. The showers were warm and very powerful, only downside was that once you have finished and were trying to dry, water splashed through from neighbouring cubicles. There is no family bathroom that I noticed and I felt the showers were too hot for my girls to use.

I really feel that your view of this park will be influenced by your pitch - go for grass pitches near the pond and I think you will be happy. Also as we left the site it was significantly emptier than when we arrived and the whole appearance was so much greener without the sea of white caravans in the centre. So maybe out of peak season those central pitches are less cluttered.

Overall we would return and would recommend, especially for families as children are well catered for here.
