This is a great site for families. Friendly, helpful staff and good sized pitches.
The pool was a little on the small side but never busy, enough room for the kids to have a play. My 8 year old loved the play area and both my kids made lots of friends.
The toilets and showers were clean and there was nearly always a cleaner in keeping them spick and span. There is an on site shop selling the basics.
Ripley village is a short walk away where you can sample the delicious Ripley ice-cream, yum!
The fish and chips from the van which comes on site on Saturday are good.
Definately be going back very soon!

Stayed for 3 nights over school half term 2 adults 2 kids ages 8 and 12yrs and our dog.
What a nice site. Very clean and not too packed. Plenty of other kids here to keep my 2 occupied. Made some friends and never saw them all day. Site safe and enclosed with an adventure play area and football field/balls game area. Swimming pool as well but a bit too small and I think you pay extra for it's use.
The showers/toilets are in a large block and have 2 lots of showers / toilets for both sexes. On one side the showers were hot and powerful on the other they were timid and a bit cool but very clean. They are cleaned several times a day. The showers are on a timer but I managed to jam shower button in and it stayed on.
There is a games room and a small shop in the reception area that I personally didn't make use of but it's there for emergency supplies, open only a few hours each day though. Nice stroll into Ripley through farmers field (we used as exercise area for our Springer Spaniel when cows weren't in it. (Dog bin nearby))
Overall a very pleasant break. We even had a bit of sun.

Just stayed for from Fri - Sun and had a great time.
The facilities are excellent with plenty of clean showers/toilets and never had to queue even though the site was full.
Only two sinks for washing pots and had to form a small queue and think for a site of this size there should be more.
Although we did not have any children with us, there is plenty for children to do on the playground and playingfield.
A handful of ducks walk around the site and may even try to pinch your sandwiches!
The site is in a great location with plenty to do in the surrounding area. Ripley is a 5-8 min walk away which has a castle, with fantastic gardens, deer walk and childrens play park, pub shop and ice cream parlour.(very nice)
We biked to Knaresborough which is about 4 miles away and was a bit up and down with hills but still only took around 20 minutes.
Would go back as there is so much to do and enquired about further availability but the site was booked up for the time we wanted. So booking early may be advised.

Had a great visit over the bank holiday weekend, stayed until Wednesday.
Toilet/shower block was clean and no problems with queues even though the park was full. The showers are hot (a bit too hot and powerful for our 3 yr old though and I wished they stayed on a bit longer with out having to hold the button in). We asked to hire the disabled toilet key so we could take our little one into the shower in there as it was a proper shower, no buttons to press. Had to queue for the washing up sinks as only two available. But these were just minor things as the park is lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
The swimming pool though was small was a great addition for the little one.
Fish & chips on Saturday night was also an added bonus.
It wasn't noisy most people were very curteous and kept the noise to a minimum, though I can't say that about the ducks!
The playground was kept clean and was used all the time by my son.
I must admit when the crowds left it was heaven, so peaceful. A visit to Knaresborough is a must, we had a picnic by the river. The ripley ice cream shop was nice, try the strawberry. Also visit the railway museum its free to get in, you can park near it but this costs £7 for all day, but its really good (the food is not cheap)there is also an outdoor play area.
I would go back to this park again, but especially to this area as so much to see.

I would just like to agree 100% with Niccybear on the comments on this campsite. We too have just come back from a superb weekend, sun was blazing, campsite immaculate, groundsman friendly. It was just the sort of campsite we expect from a 5 star site, well behaved kids and no rowdy parents and everyone seemed to settle down at night without any noise at a respectable time (believe me a campsite we went to last August was disgusting with foul language and people drinking until early hours of the morning!). Lots of wildlife including ducks, rabbits and bleating sheep on occasions in the distance, plus I think a bat had flown on to our tent on one night - LOL.
ONE WARNING - The showers were VERY hot and I like hot showers but even I had to step out of it every now and then, I would not let my children in them!
Definitly will be going back!

Just returned from our first weekend at Ripley - what a lovely site. Beautifully maintained and cleaned - even found a cleaner in the wash ups at 11 last night !
The groundsmen are v friendly and smashing with the children. We had a lovely pitch without electric for our tent. Lots of space and very tranquil. Ducks welcomed us and had a good look around our tent. Great football area and busy playground. Shop well stocked and swimming pool lovely - games room great.
On Saturday evenings a local fish and chip van is near reception from 5.30- 6.30 and they were great if you want a rest from doing a barbie.
We went to Ilkley for a couple of hours but was not anything special but when we visited Ripley village were delighted to see Morris dancers - and the ice cream is the best we have ever had and coming from people living at the seaside that says a lot !
£31.00 for 2 adults and 2 children for 2 nights is money very well spent - if you want a well run , well kept site with pool and lots of play area , surrounded by lots to see and do then this is for you.

Very nice campsite. We have been here probs about ten times in the past years. Lovely friendly people. The campsite. Is kept very clean and tidy. The pool could do with being a little bit warmer. The football field is good so you can have peace around your tent. Overall we always have a great time when we visit.

We have just had a pleasant autumn break at this site, joining friends who had been here all week. As a child-free foursome we appreciated the owners' habit of using one field for predominantly adults-only customers, though they made it clear this could not be 100% guaranteed.
As it was a mild weekend there were lots of people booked in, yet the site still felt spacious as they did not go for a

Very late booking only possible thanks to helpfulness of staff.
Site full and therefore clearly popular.
Arrival smooth, pitch a bit smallish, but flat and well attended by ducks, coots and moorhens. Although full the site was quiet, and the facilities good though washing up busy. Could have used shop on arrival but had closed.
Local visits Ripley castle, Knaresborough and Pateley Bridge all smashing.
Can definitely recommend and will return ourselves.

I’ve just returned from a long weekend on this site and we will NOT be returning. We chose this site because it advertises itself as a family friendly site but this is far from the truth and in fact should advertise as great for couples wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday. The site is in a good location being close to attractions for days out and in a very quiet spot and the site looks lovely with the duck pond and park but it’s very much like a show home where you can look but don’t touch or enjoy yourself. The toilet block is good and very clean but the water is not child friendly as it actually steams when coming out of the taps it is so hot and neither me or my husband could keep our hands under the running water so there was no way we were going to put the children in the showers – which obviously they loved! For others who had put their children in we could hear lots of ‘ow it’s too hot’ shouts from them. I’ll be amazed if they have never had a serious incident with burning from the water before now. The layout of the site looks good at first but when you really look you realise how close all the caravans are to each other and we noticed this especially with the tent because we could hear some snoring from other tents around us from inside ours! This I think is the main problem because as a family we could not relax and enjoy spending time with the children as we were told by the warden to keep the noise down on our first night when we sat outside the tent with a camp fire playing Chinese Whispers! Our 8 year old was told the next day to stay off the grass whilst riding his bike around even though he had just ridden on the grass to let a car pass driving on the road!
