Visited here the first bank holiday weekend in May. After checking in we were accompanied to our hardstanding pitch where the friendly owner helped guide OH in while he reversed caravan! Good play area and football field. Small swimming pool that hubby took 4yr old son into a bit small for older kids. Shop not open that often but stocked essentials. Good base for travelling around the area. Facilities clean although one building housed them all would benefit from another building to the other side of the site. Would visit again

This is a nice site, in lovely grounds and well located for all the surrounding areas, such as Knaresborough, Harrogate etc. We had a grass pitch in the top field which was nice, as it was quiet but not too far from the toilet blocks and park. The hardstanding pitches all looked a bit to close together with little space between them. The Play area was good for the kids, probably suitable for ages up to 10 years old, but you felt safe to let the kids play together and not have to constantly watch them. The toilet blocks are the one thing that let this site down, theyre unheated and dated, with pressure problems in the showers and the boiler switching on and off when it felt like it. All in all a really nice site and would definetly go again, but could be that much better, if they invested in a new shower block, and also if the warden could learn to be just a bit more polite with people.

Pleasant site with large field with goal posts for ball games. Toilets and showers fine with plenty of hot water. Pool was great and although small, not too busy when we went. Large park area for kids and all equipment chained up at 9 ish for 12 hours, so no kids hanging around.
The site is mainly statics and caravans with two fields for tents. Unfortunately, we were placed directly at the entrance to the dog wallking area - a thin pathway at the side of your tent - no privacy and not good when your youngest is petrified of dogs1
All in all, a well run site with good facilities. We would definitely return, but request a different pitch.

This was our second visit to Ripley, and as it was the week before Easter,we booked in advance, asking for a pitch near the play area so we could keep an eye on our 6 year old. When we arrived we booked in and were given a copy of the site rules and opening times, then taken to our pitch, which overlooked the play area, as we requested. The Wardens are always on hand, and were really friendly.
The site is made up of an area of Statics, a large Touring area, and a Tent field with EHU’s. There are some Super Pitches with water and drainage. All the pitches are marked, avoiding the temptation some site owners suffer packing 3 outfits into 2 pitches at peak times. Not so at Ripley, all the pitches are large enough for full awning and car.
The facilities are spotless, the toilet block is split , so when the staff are cleaning one side, the other is open. There is also a pot wash and laundry, and a chemical toilet disposal area. Hot water is free, and there are Hair Dryers in the washrooms.
There is an Indoor Pool (75p), Sauna, Games Room and a big Outside Play Area. The site also has a dedicated dog walk, which has several dog waste bins along its length. Or you can walk along the edge of an adjoining field into Ripley (15mins) if you fancy more exercise. The site is about 4 miles from Harrogate, 12 miles from Ripon and close to the village of Ripley with a small shop selling “World Famous Ripley Ice Cream”, a Traditional Butcher (fantastic Ripley Sausages for the BBQ).
We had a relaxing week, and even though the site was full for the Bank Holiday it was still peaceful. We have booked for a further 2 weeks in August, and will try to get some weekends in as well.

We stayed here for a weekend. Great site. On arrival we went to reception and we booked in, paid, then were shown to our pitch, right at the side of the duck pond. It was lovely. The facilities were excellent, even a pool, although we didn't use it. We just got pitched and sorted and couldn't be bothered cooking, but they have a fish and chip van that calls in - great! The village is about 5 minutes walk away and is very pretty, couple of pubs there too. We'll definitely use this site again. Oh the site is well signposted too - easy to find!

What fantastic site we have just returned from a weekend at this site and I can highly recommend it.
This site is the best one we've been to this year there were 4 family's in our group 18 people altogether 2 trailer tents 1 tent and a caravan all with hook up. The pitches we were given spread along the field. The park was good for the kids and the showers were clean and smelt really nice.
We will definitely go there again. The staff were very friendly, just an allover very good site.

Excellent site showers free and warm although on the powerful side swimming pool on site and only 75p for a swim with no time limit playground on site with excellent play equipment staff are very friendly and helpful the toilet block is very clean. Make sure you take rock pegs as the ground is hard ideal position for Ripley castle and knaresborough with york only about half an hour away will definitely be visiting again

Shown to our pitch (choice of three) at very top of the site. Obviously been heavily used over the summer as there wasn't much grass on it. But it was very spacious and clean and plenty of room for the car, front or side. Toilet / shower / washing-up facilities were all excellent and very clean, no queues which is always nice! And plenty of hot water whatever time of day. Showers a bit powerful for little ones though! Not overly impressed with the pool - didn't look desperately clean and it was very cold. Visited the Railway Museum in York (admiss free, £7 to park car), the Viking Exhibition in City centre and Mother Shipton's Cave - all well worth a visit. Can strongly recommend Pinocchio's Italian Restaurant in Harrogate for a fantastic meal and very inexpensive (special offer £4.95 each for any pizza or pasta dish). Planned a 3night stay at this site, but had to cut it short by a night due to very strong winds and a petrified 3 year old! Must admit hubby and I were also a bit nervous and neither of us relished the prospect of a sleepless night and having to hold the tent down at 3 in the morning so we made the decision to pack up at 6pm and head home! We would visit this site again as it is an excellent base for sightseeing in York and Harrogate.

Really enjoyed our stay here, only here for 4 days, will stay longer next time. Kids loved the pool, although judging by the way there swim shorts faded it did have an unusual amount of chlorine in it. They didnt bother with the games room, preferred to hang out with there friends in the park. We have a really large tent which I told them on booking and they were fine, didnt charge any extra. Fish and chips from mobile van on wednesday where lovely but quite small portions, hubby could have ate same again. Kids also enjoyed feeding ducks. Shower and toilet blocks where very clean, showers free and never too busy.

Enjoyed our stay at Ripley. Make sure you take rock pegs we did not expect it to be hard ground and struggled. There is a shop which is open various times,A games room with tv and a couple of arcade games, next door is a room with toys in for the very young. The showers knock you through to next week if your not awake when you go in you will be when you come out (great). The toilets were clean and had wash cubicles too. The pool isn't that big but plenty of room for a decent swim our son loved it. The play area was close to us so we could see what the little loves where up to, it did get a bit to noisy at one point with some older ones but I did notice the wardens were on hand to shut them up when it got late. Some control from the parents wouldn't have gone amiss. Will be going back again.
