We stopped here over the Easter weekend. We booked in at reception & a ranger showed us to our pitch which was well sheltered by some trees.
The site was full but there was no problems with queueing for toilets or showers which were cleaned on a regular basis. There is a dog walk, a field for ball games & an indoor swimming pool. The shop is well stocked & reasonable.
Ripley is a lovely little village about tw0 minutes walk from site, with Pub / hotel & shops + the Castle & Museum.
There is a mobile chip shop on site on Saturday evenings. It gets there around 5.30 pm & starts serving around 6pm. Please queue early as it is very popular. We will certainly return again!

Had a lovely 4 nights on this campsite. Staff very helpful and friendly. Toilets and showers spotless. Good swimming pool, my little lad loved it, also decent park for the kids and a big playing field. Pitches had plenty of room. Site kept very clean. We were lucky with the weather, sun shone all week and the little lad was sad to leave. Really enjoyed it and there was no noise from anywhere on the site after 10pm, only thing I can say is that the ducks wake up pretty early some mornings. Nice walk into ripley, short drive to light water valley and to ripon and only a short drive to old mother shipton. Plenty to do and see

After many good reviews we arrived at this site with high hopes.
It was a weekend stay and the site was full and understandably quite noisy and we did feel the pitches were a little on the small side but this did not dampen our spirits.
The toilets and showers did however as they were dirty. It looked as though all the children on the site had visited unsupervised and strewn toilet roll all over the block and the floor for the whole weekend was wet and dirty. The toilets themselves were at a backward angle so our 9 year old couldn't get on for fear of banging his head!
The shop was very basic and had odd opening times and the pool looked pleasant but we didn't use it.
Ripley village and castle is gorgeous and would recommend it to anyone but I certainly couldn't say the same of the site.

This is a lovely site, central for visiting the many attractions / towns on offer. A small but very clean swimming pool. Toilet / shower blocks are cleaned very regularly. Staff very friendly & helpful. Fish & chip van on site 1730 on saturday evenings, although we didn't use it so cant comment on the quality. Judging by the long queue waiting for it to arrive, I should think they are very good! We were lucky enough to have fabulous weather for the 4 days we were there. Dogs are allowed on the site, as long as they are well behaved & kept on a lead. We had a dog with us & were pleased to see that everyone seemed to adhere to the rules. Re previous comment on being pitched next to tents???? We heard nothing after 10/1030 at night, as per the site rules. Perhaps this caravanner has a tent phobia????

Lovely campsite. Seemed busy but still very quiet on a night apart from the ducks on the first night. They weren't so bad on the other nights! People were friendly but kept themselves to themselves. Clean toilet blocks and hot showers. Kids used swimming pool very refreshing after a hot day although they have to be accompanied by an adult if they are under 15. The playground is big although our kids are older and weren't bothered by it. Nice walk from the campsite into Ripley. There's also a nice walk at the side of the castle. Visited Fountaines Abbey and Studley Royal. Beautiful walks there and at Brimham rocks. Will definitely return to this site.

Site very nice. Pitches nice and long and plenty of room for awning and car an room left for BBQing. Staff welcoming and friendly and the toilet block is cleaned regularly throughout the day. We were pitched on hard standing near the play area as requested. Only problem being it backed on to the tents and as it was bank holiday was very busy and noisy late at night. Our 1yr old loved the inside play area and the swimming pool is a bonus at just £1 each. Walk in to Ripley village and have an ice-cream. It is gorgeous (and I don't normally eat it). Children's play area is fine for older kids but very young children would be bored and our 1yr old soon was as there was nothing for that age.

This was only our second time out with the caravan, when you drive up the drive, me and my wife both look at each other and said WOW !
This was quite a large site ( too big to let the kids run/ride out of sight ) you know what mother hens are like.
There is a small play are for the kids which they enjoyed.
The site was very clean and very tidy I had a little walk to get water and a little further for the toilet block, not that it caused any problem at all for us.
There is a swimming pool ( indoor ) which was a bonus however the changing rooms where not heated, hence the time of year they were cold!
The on site shop was stocked well, and the supermarket was only a very short drive away.
Price for the site was very good .

Having not been here for 4 years we decided to visit Ripley Caravan Park. The park is well maintained and was quiet as it was nearing the end of the season. The toilet blocks were clean and facilities of good standard. Walking distance from Ripley and not far from Brimham Rocks, it is well placed. We were a little surprised to be sited on grass when it was quite muddy despite there being numerous hard standings available. There is a large pond on site so take your ear plugs as the ducks start quacking around 4am. Its worth visiting however for its proximity to Ripley.

At first sight the park appeared to be full, but I realised that many of the caravans were permanently sited. We were offered a pitch right on the bank of the pond which was lovely, however the land is not flat so choose with care. Not all the bathroom facilities were open we were told & were asked to use the ones furthest away from the pitch. I noticed that these facilities did not resemble the ones on the website and looked very dated. Later that weekend I noticed someone using the other facilities and when I entered realised that these were the ones pictured on the website and wonder why we had been directed elsewhere?
The best thing from my children's point of view is the pool. It is warm & cheap & for £1 per person excellent value. I can imagine it would get very busy high season though.
The staff did not seem too friendly and seemed preoccupied at all times, and on a couple of occasions my husband was ignored for some time when waiting to ask questions. I found it all a little odd as they were not directly rude but it niggled me nonetheless.
There is an Asda in Harrogate and the surrounding area is worth exploration. We may use the site again, if only for the pool.

Not being able to get into our preferred site we thought we would brave this site even though we have been somewhat disappointed with private sites in the past but we were very pleased with the site. Booked a fully serviced pitch which was great. Only problem I found was the gravel pitches were only just wide enough to put awning up and this meant you have to walk on the grass to get in. Site staff were very helpful and space between pitches was good. Toilet block very clean. Nice short walk to Ripley Village which is beautiful. Would go again.
