This is a small but well formed campsite. The facilities are well cared for and the wardens very friendly. The local pub is pleasant but a bit of a walk away. The main attraction is proximity to Hadrian's Wall. The site is terraced so pitches are flat and I liked that the terraces are named after Himalayan mountains. There are no facilities specifically for children but there are chickens and ducks for them to see. It has WiFi for a small donation in the charity box and you can hire BBQs for a fee. The shop had fresh baked scones when we were there and they are well worth sampling if you see them.

This was my second stay, I liked it so much last August I decided to spend Easter here. The great attraction for this site is its isolated location, only a brisk walk down the lane to the Wall itself. As you would expect, the landscape is amazing and you really feel that you are there when at the campsite. The facilities are modern and immaculately kept. The wardens gave a very warm welcome and were very helpful throughout my stay. They run a little shop with some essential items, constructive criticism is that they could expand the stock; a freezer with some frozen foods would be nice, though I understand that most visitors in caravans and motorhomes would be coming better stocked than I was. It is pleasant to walk over the fields to Haltwhistle.

My wife and I spent a night here, The owner Sue was very helpful and friendly. We were allocated a hard standing with electric hook up. The toilet/showers were spotless. Cooked breakfast is available if ordered night before (pity I only found this out in the morning. Lol). The views are spectacular. We were told about local pubs and shops but as we were only there for the night we didn't use them. Personally we could not fault the place.
Can't wait to go back in the very near future and stay longer.

We stayed here the week before Xmas 2014 and had a fantastic time. We pretty much had the site to ourselves, so it was nice and peaceful. There is so much history in the area, personally I find it awe inspiring. When you see first hand the scale of 'The Wall', with the huge ditch behind it, lime kilns to make mortar built along the way as well, it makes you realise what an immense undertaking it must have been. It would cost billions to create today, (and they'd probably still be over budget!) It pretty much tipped it down the whole time we were there, which eventually led to the drains overflowing on site, though this was purely down to the amount of water which fell, and the site owner saw to it quickly and as unobtrusively as possible. Very good considering the time of year. Lovely clean and spacious toilets and showers, it bugs me when some members rate these as inadequate. If you want a hotel, you're on the wrong type of holiday! All in all we had a lovely stay here and will definitely go back again, though probably out of season again to avoid the crowds. There's another site less than a mile away which charges double what this one does, I'd go to this one if I were you.

A very pleasant experience. The site is well signposted and, although the approach roads are fairly narrow, there are plenty of places to pass. The scenery is superb, the staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The facilities are also first class. The farm has ducks, chickens and sheep and one particular hen, Jeanie, does like to make herself at home! Would definitely return.

This was our second stay on this campsite, fantastic views good size pitches and very friendly staff. We originally booked in for two nights but the weather was awful so stayed on for an extra couple of nights in the end we didn't want to leave. All facilities are clean only issue is with having a button push on shower however I can understand why it's there. Very child and dog friendly and I will definitely be booking to come back. Thanks guys.

Fantastic site. Very clean and friendly. Lovely views.
Chickens, rabbits and ducks roaming the campsite. Duck pond in the middle.
Cafe/shop which had just about anything you might need including the wifi password for a small donation which goes to charity.
Lovely walks in the area (the tree from Robin Hood prince of thieves isn't far away)and the twice brewed pud is only about a mile and a half and does very nice food.
Haltwhistle (the centre of Britain) is a short drive away and has a co-op for anything you might need that the camp shop doesn't have.
Plenty of roman forts in the area.

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. The location is superb, right next to The Roman Wall. The views from the camp site are absolutely stunning.
We had problems setting up our caravan, purely down to a sloping pitch and me being to pig headed to ask for help. However once set up we were absolutely fine.
The facilities are spot on, the shower blocks are very clean, with plenty of hot water and toilet rolls. It was very busy when we stayed however we never had any problems having to wait to use the facilities.
I suppose you could complain about having to push a button every 30 seconds to get hot water for the shower, but that is just a petty gripe and not a complaint.
The site was very clean although there was a lot of rubbish in the over flowing bins. I guess that is down to the site being busy, not a fault of the owners or wardens.
We did feel as if other users where on top of one another.
That however would not stop us from using the site again.
Graham and Sue are very friendly but not in your face.
There was a problem of loud music being played from a caravan near us. In all the years of caravanning and all the sites we have used we have never come across this problem. I spoke to the warden and he sorted it without a problem.
Free WiFi is an absolute bonus and very much appreciated. There is a donation tin in the reception area for the local search and rescue team.
I like to recycle as much as possible, so separate bins for bottle, cans and paper might be a good idea.

Nice site, although called Hadrians Wall it's still a fair trek away but good start point for any walkers or site seeing families.
Found it a bit of a struggle to drag our van up to the higher level pitches and was a bit boggy in places but it is Cumbria so expected. Site was kept clean and wardens on site so no problems there.
Only issues we found was no disposable BBQ s allowed due to H&S but could hire from site at inflated price, And even though we asked to be moved to a lower, flatter pitch as there was plenty available at the time of asking we were told they were to boggy, then the next day 18 Italian motor homes arrived and parked on the lower pitches! They also pretty much took over the site and it was over capacity so toilets and showers were over run!
Other than that reasonable value but as mentioned a good base for trekking The East side of Hadrians Wall.

Excellent campsite. All the way from Spain via N Wales. Met and guided around by very friendly and informative owner. Useful and well stocked little shop on site. Shower blocks well maintained and always sufficient hot water. Pitch well maintained and level (makes a welcome change). Owner very grateful when minor breakages reported and problems dealt with immediately. Hadrians Wall (the actual), Vindolanda and Roman Army Museum worth the trip 'Up t'north' Recommend this site to anyone.
