What a fantastic site. The views are amazing on the top field where we were. The site itself is very very clean with a shop to help you out in case you forgot anything (T-bags every time we go camping haha).
There is a pub that does food which is about a 20 minutes walk or if you use your car you could pop into Haltwhistle which is 5 minutes away or pop into Twice Brewed Brewery where you could also have food.
Back to the campsite the showers are nice and hot and there was no queue when we went but could be busy as there was only 3. We hired a fire bin and it was lovely sitting out until 1am.
The tent pitches are kept very well. During our stay I have to say that there was hardly any noise and there was a lot of people there and children.
We will definitely be going back as it was very peaceful with the fantastic views. It really recharged our batteries. Keep up the goodwork

Had a fabulous time.
Gorgeous surroundings, Quiet and owners extremely friendly.
They had no issues assisting when my partners car got bogged in due to rain.
They kindly pulled it out at no charge and with no hesitation.

Perfect site for me and my dog to spend a few days walking in the area.
Easy check in and good clean toilet and shower facilities.
Nice large hard standing pitch (twin axle van) with glorious views across the countryside.
20 minute walk to Hadrian's Wall and the views from up there are breathtaking! Twice Brewed pub 35 minute walk with good food and real ale brewed on site.
Last night had a substantial snowfall and next morning owner said I could stay an extra night if travelling was a problem. Can't beat that sort of service and I definitely want to go back again.

This site is in a great location for accessing Hadrians Wall. Good area for walking with footpaths close to the site entrance.
We were greeted with a warm welcome by Steve and Tracy.
It is clear that care and attention has been put into providing nice facilities. The toilet and shower facilities were warm and very clean.
The campsite has a quiet, intimate feel. Would definitely stay again.

First time camping and we brought our 9 month baby along too. We were instantly welcomed and the check in process was quick and friendly.
We were given a key to the baby change and disabled toilet and shower area which was very helpful made shower time so much easier.
Toilets and showers were all clean and we never had to wait to use anything. Lots of washing up sinks too.
Cute little store on site with coffee in the morning which was amazing.
Great location with bus stop only 8 minute walk away and close to Hadrian’s wall of course too.
Would definitely recommend and will be coming back.

Very friendly welcome on arrival and checked in swiftly and shown to respective pitch. We were on a pitch up the hill which was ok to get too if you give it a few revs to get up the hill.
I don't understand why the urinals in the gents toilets are still closed off. It says due to covid but those restrictions are not in place at other campsites.
Given that the toilets are small already(only 3 toilets) there were occasions you had to queue and I think this could be alleviated by opening the urinal area.
Bit of a walk to nearest pubs for drink and food but no great hassle.
I will definitely visit again if in that area.

Management response: Dear Lamber
Thank you for taking the trouble to post a review of our little campsite, we are very pleased that you would like to come and visit us again.
Just to explain the reason for our closed off urinals if I may – From the beginning of the pandemic we have taken the safety of our guests and staff very seriously and have regularly been complimented in relation to this.
Covid reporting may have slipped off the media coverage but over the last 7 days there have been 50,000 people testing positive for covid in the UK and 800 deaths. We take our lead from the World Health Organisation guidance in relation to protecting people where the advice remains that we should keep a 1m distance and avoid close contact.
As you point out other campsites have returned to normal but we make no apology for keeping people safe. If you had asked us about our reasons while you were here, we would have happily explained.
As part of campsite licencing our toilet ratio to pitch and occupation level as are taken into account and 3 toilets in the ladies and 3 in the gents is correct for our size. I am regularly in the gentlemans toilet cleaning at busy times and have rarely witnessed a queue so I guess you were unlucky.
For the benefit of others reading this review, we are very lucky to have 2 pubs within a reasonable walk. The closest, the excellent Milecastle Inn, is a 30-minute walk from us across the footpath (sometimes a bit longer on the way back!)
Best wishes
Steve

Staff at park were exceptionally helpful.
The park is located close to the wall and close to forts, maps and information were supplied on arrival.
Amenities were excellent.

Fantastic location within walking distance of Milecastle Inn with great food.
A longer walk to Haltwhistle via the burn is wonderful, as is the Black Bull pub in the town. A real locals pub but very friendly with it.
Campsite is perfect for access to Hadrian's Wall, Sycamore Gap and once Brewed. All within walking distance!

Absolutely adored this site. It was a chance find while looking for accomodation in the area and one we didn't regret.
Our pitch was up the hill on a pretty flat pitch with EHU and fantastic views over the valley.
Facilities immaculate and very helpful staff.
Great walks with the dog over the moors. Could have gone much further too. Haltwhistle close by for shopping and good paths to Milecastle Inn (which was excellent). And of course the Wall.
Would come back and stay here in a heartbeat
