Very clean toilets and showers, but you can’t swing a cat in the shower cubicle!

Also the water blasts very hot very quickly while using the shower. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

The ehu tent pitch we stayed on was very lumpy with quite a few holes

I would not describe it as a grass pitch more like a dirt pitch. Lots of barking dogs with very noisy owners, so would not describe it as tranquil!

What a beautiful site, the people were lovely,

Toilets and showers clean and looked after and the little shop had all you would need in an emergency

Pitches were a good size and a lovely dog walk to boot

What's not to like.

Lovely park very friendly welcome. Facilities spotlessly clean and great on site shop.

Bus stop at site entrance to York or Selby, short walk to the river and locks. York Marina a 15 minute walk along a footpathed road edge.

Arrival time is stated as 1pm however while we were there people were booking in as early as 10am so evidently the arrival time is whenever you want, also the dogs on lead rule doesn't seem to apply.

One last criticism is the Elsan emptying point. The smell coming from it was horrendous caused mainly by the hot weather but a good wash down would not have hurt.

Overall would we go again, definitely YES.

Good location for York and easy to find with good access. Good size pitches, that are virtually level, with room for car, caravan, awning and plenty more for a BBQ etc.

Toilet/shower block clean but tired and shower cubicles very small. Shower water varied from hot to cold to hot in the space of a couple of seconds. Poor hot water supply to sinks if showers in use.

Fishing - unable to access banks due to being overgrown but there are other locations within a few miles.

Could be great but really does need an up to date toilet/shower block.

Great site, secure, well maintained and excellent facilities of shop and showers etc,

Will definitely be back.

Being adult only meant a quiet morning, shame we couldn’t get the river taxi, but had a great time

Lovely quiet site. Friendly efficient staff on arrival. Good facilities spread evenly around the site.

Clean and well presented toilet block (didn’t use the shower part so can’t comment) and with a great dog exercise area, which is always a plus with us for the early morning and late night walks for our two.

Only downside was the price! Not special enough to warrant £37 per night (caravan +EHU, 2 adults, 2 dogs, and no awning) compared to many other sites, which is a shame, as that alone would stop us returning when we can pay up to £10 a night less for the same elsewhere.

Excellent facilities, toilets are well cleaned, good pot wash, bins emptied regularly.

The shop had a good selection for everyone’s needs.

Loved the pizza van although we didn’t have one at this visit but will definitely try on our next visit.

Enjoyed the walk by the Locke. Can’t wait for our next visit.

 Great campsite well maintained,

Staff very friendly and helpful. Ideal for walking and cycling,

Just 5 miles from York on light traffic roads,

Local pub is only 10minutes away serving good food and drinks.

We really enjoyed our stay at Naburn Lock, the site is ideally located to explore York. A bus runs from the site gate into York, the park and ride a five minute drive away and the river taxis run from the site.

The park and ride cost £3. 30 per adult and under 16s travel free. This is located in the site of the Designer Factory Outlet which was less than 10 minutes away. As the cost includes a days parking we never took our car into York.

Our sons are older now so our priorities have changed so didn’t notice a play area. There was plenty of room in the camping field and there was an empty camping field next door for ball games etc.

A pizza van visited on a Saturday night which is highly recommended and good value.

There is a cafe opening at Naburn Lock at the beginning of August and there are some nice walks around the river and lock system.

There is a well stocked shop on site which would re freeze your freezer blocks for free. They also sold cold, local beers and wine.

The showers were hot and the facilities were clean and well maintained. I understand the whole block is to be renewed this autumn.

Although this is a relatively large site it never felt busy which was probably due to its layout.

I can recommend this site and would certainly use again.
