Just returned from this site, very nice site very well kept. Checking in was simple and pleasant we were allowed to choose our pitch, we chose the Adult only area but it wouldn't have mattered where we pitched as the site was quiet, that's no reflection on the site it was just the time of year. A lovely short walk to the lock where a number of boats are moored, plenty of wildlife to see. The site allows easy access to York with a bus stop at the main gate with buses running fairly regular and at £5 return per adult very reasonable.
A short walk to the local village along an unlit road to the local pub, the Blacksmiths Arms where you can eat at very reasonable prices and a number of ales and beers.
Toilet and shower facilities are near to the best I've come across, you wont have any complaints there. Elsan point and fresh water all near to the pitch.
All in all, give it a go, you wont be disappointed

Just spent a great four days at Naburn, the owners are very friendly and always willing to help. The facilities are clean and tidy and well laid out, the walk down to the lock is very pleasant.
There were a few children on site but they never disturbed us while we were on site.
The site also has reasonably priced wi-fi and although it did sometimes drop the signal it didn't cause to much problem as it always reconnected.
Overall a site that we will keep coming back to.

We have visited this site several times now, at different times of the year. The couple who own and run this site are consistently helpful and friendly, the showers and toilets are always clean, with lots of hot water.
The site is always well presented and kept to a very high standard. It is situated approx. 5 miles outside of York, with a regular bus service from just outside the park gates, or via a river bus from the near-by lock.
A very pretty and well run site

Booked this site via e-mail, which was easy to do. I would say to people if you want hard standing or grass, you must specify, we didn't have a preference so it didn't matter.
The owners were very welcoming and friendly, and went out of their way to help customers. We were in the adult only area, although only a hedge away from the rest of the campsite, it was still very peaceful.
The campsite is next to the road but the noise didn't bother us that much, and not at all during the night.
I do have a habit of judging campsites on the quality of their facilities, particularly the shower, having long hair it takes a bit to get it washed. And on first look at the facilities I was a little worried, they were clean and tidy, but still. I needn't have been worried the showers were adequately sized and lovely and warm.
There is a village within walking distance, which has a pub, that serves food all day. They do a very nice Scampi and chips, which I would recommend. The only down side is that the walk to and back is down a unlit road so take your torches, or your phone as we did.
The site is within easy reach of York, we decided on using the park and ride service from the designer outlet as it was cheaper than the bus service and the parking in York. The city is full of attractions, I'm sure your would find something for everyone.
Thee is a lovely walk from the campsite onto Naburn Lock, where you can watch the world go by.
Lovely, relaxing campsite

We booked this site last minute after leaving another site early. When we arrived we were met with a warm, professional welcome and shown to our pitch which was a really good size. We couldn't believe how busy the site was bearing in mind it was towards the end of September but I guess that just goes to show what a good site it is and for £17 a night we thought it was very good value for money.
The facilities were plentiful and spotless. Lots of water sites and rubbish bins dotted around. The site was very well maintained and although a big site the way it is set out made it feel smaller which was nice. There was also a shop on site which was well stocked.
The location is great, really close to the river which is lovely for a walk or even to catch the boat into York.
I think this is a great site and would highly recommend it.

Visited Naburn with my family and parents. Lovely site, sectioned into small areas making it very private and secluded, great idea. Shower/toilet block spotless and clean, big washing up areas, well stocked shop. Local buses right outside camp for easy access to York. Water taxi twice a week, a little pricey but worth a one-way ride. Local pub 5 minutes drive. Lovely walks for dogs. Highly recommended will definitely return.

This site has a very enviable location, right on the river with some very delightful walks and scenery all around. The bus into York stops at the gates and gets you into the centre in 15 minutes or so. Shops and a pub are not far away. This is not a small site, but it is partitioned by hedges into groups of maybe 8 to 10 units, with a very quiet adults only section where we were. On site shop, plenty of high quality loos and showers and helpful owners. Being fairly large you need to make your own atmosphere and friends if that is what you want. Nice place, not too expensive either.

We visited Naburn Lock Caravan park in August for thirteen days. We choose it because it was close to York, had a shop on site and a pub in the village not far away. Also it had an added bonus of the river taxi into York.
We couldn't have picked a better site. The shop was well stocked and we used it often. The pub was a fifteen minuet walk to the village, the meal we had there was nice if not a bit over priced. And the river taxi was an excellent way to travel with the captain giving a commentary on everything you passed on the way.
Everyone was so friendly, staff and other campers alike.
The local bus service was just outside the gate, buses run every hour to York, last bus back was at 6. 30 week days and at 1100 p. M on a Saturday which gave us ample time to sample Yorks night life. The toilets and shower blocks were spotless and I never had to wait for a free cubical regardless that the site was very busy.
The couple who ran the site were so friendly and genuine.
There was a wee added bonus of the ducks wandering round the park which we fed a few times.
We had a BBQ twice during our stay without disturbing the other campers with the smoke, as there was plenty room between the pitches(we had a full awning up plus the car at the side of the van)
I would recommend this site to everyone it was amazing.

I have visited this site on numerous occasions and it never fails to please. The site is immaculately kept and the facilities are always clean no matter when you go. The site is reasonably large with plenty of room for pitching. The shop stocks most things that you might need at reasonable prices. The village of Naburn is about half a mile away and has an excellent pub that does bar meals. The designer out let is about 2 miles away and there is a bus stop outside the site to take you to it if you prefer to leave your car. York is about 4 miles away and you can get the bus outside or take the boat on certain days if you do not want to use your car. There are many good walks and cycling tracks near the site and the river flows along the bottom of it making a very picturesque place to visit. The owners are friendly and helpful and make sure that the patrons get a good holiday without being disturbed by rowdiness as there are signs asking the patrons to be quiet after 11.00pm. And this is usually adhered to. I will certainly visit here again in the future and would recommend it to anyone who wants a good camping experience.

We visited this campsite staying for 2 nights on 2/3 August. We hadn’t stayed here before and only picked up the details from the UKCampsite.co.uk website. We would agree that this is a gem of a site. We were allocated a pitch in the ‘Adults Only’ area and it was very quiet and tranquil.
The site is immaculately presented with a spotless toilet and shower block. It also offers an on site shop which has a reasonable range of goods that campers might require.
The site is on the banks of the River Ouse and Naburn Lock, only two minutes’ walk if that. This area is a very picturesque location, with a mixture of narrow boats and other river boats moored there. There are also numerous ducks that enjoyed being fed by us as much as we also enjoyed the experience.
There is an hourly bus service from the campsite gates into York and we enjoyed a day there. The bus returns on an hourly basis also.
All in all, a most enjoyable weekend and now we have discovered the campsite, we certainly will return,
