I can't add to what's already been said really. Excellent site. We were with the Renault Trafic club rally and it was perfect for the 29 or so vans that attended and we took up most of the main field. There are other, smaller, fields around around it with half a dozen or so pitches and an area for adults only, which I thought was a nice idea. The pitches are a good size, too.
The toilet block is cleaned twice a day - 11.30 in the morning and again last thing at night - so is spotless all the time. Excellent free showers with loads of hot water. We will definitely be going again.

Been to this site in August and last weekend. Lovely site. Good sized marked pitches. Music piped into spacious clean toilets/showers. Well stocked shop and really friendly, helpful staff. Used the bus, from the site a few times to visit York. Chip van visits on a friday night, VERY NICE! A good walk along the canal, watching the boats. Been twice, will definitely visit again!

We have just arrived home from camping at Naburn Lock in North Yorkshire and had to add a review of the site. Having camped around the country for the past 15 years, we found the site to be one of the best we have been on. The facilities were very clean and tidy, as were the surroundings. The owners, catherine and peter were very friendly and helpful.
The site is very well situated by the river and close to a park and ride into york. It also had a bus stop outside the camp with regular buses to York and the surrounding areas. The shop was stocked with a variety of items to suit most needs but a local Iceland, Aldi and local chip shop were only a 5 minute drive away
We were able to cover a large distance using this site as a base as connecting roads were easily accessible. The only downside to the holiday was the fact that a designer discount outlet was less than 5 minutes away and it was easy to spend a fortune. We would recommend this site to anyone wanting a pleasant, clean and friendly site for their holiday.

This was our first camping holiday as a family, so we felt that it was vital we chose the correct site. After finally choosing our destination, we looked at the sites available within that area and found Naburn Lock to be the most suitable to our needs.
After our initial contact with Catherine at Naburn, we had absolutley no doubt that we had made the right choice. This was confirmed when we arrived at the Lock for the start of our holiday. We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome and given some very useful local information regarding buses, taxi boats and local amenities. We were given a choice of areas on the site to pitch our tent, and we decided to choose the enclosed tent area which was ideal for our two year old son.
The toilet, shower and washing/kitchen facilities were kept spotless throughout our stay and paper towels and toilet rolls were always well stocked. An added bonus was the local radio station wired directly into the shower block so that you could catch up with local news and weather.
We enjoyed our stay so much at Naburn Lock, that we found it hard to leave. We were so pleased with the facilties and the hospitality that we will definitely be going back again in the near future.

July 2005 Just returned from a mid-week trip to this site. Owners are very friendly and helpful especially as I had forgotten my key for front locker of folding camper. (whoops) Site very clean. Bus to York right outside gate or a lovely hour cruise on River Ouse to York.
Pub in small village I think called the The Blacksmith (too many wines to remember name) has excellant food choice and very tasty, only a 10 minute walk to it (little longer on way back though)(hiccup).
Shop onsite has everything you need (essentials & reading material etc.,) We have upgraded to a caravan and will be returning to Naburn in August and they said they will be waiting to give us any help we require. Highly recommended site.

July 2005 What can be said? This is an excellent site - our second visit this time with new tent and electric ohh mod cons! The site is very well run, the owners are very friendly and work hard to give visitors a happy time - first visit was very busy bank holiday weekend and the showers and toilets were completlty spotless - again on the weekend of the 8th july they were a treat to use despite the weather being that hot a shower was needed every five mins! highly recommended site - just a shame the old naburn lock hotel / bar is not open as this would complete an excellent weekend beer in hand watching pleasure craft sailing through the locks! Go - you will not regret it.
