Fantastic site!
We were part of a 3 van party, 2 caravans, a motorhome and 3 extra cars of people. We arrived at various times through the day and the latest van of our party arrived at 9.30pm after being stuck on the M62 but still had a warm welcome.
We were put at the far end of the site but were still in easy reach of the toilets and other facilities and it suited us because we could be together. Superb clean loos, showers and pot wash area. Had to wait for the showers in the morning but only 2-3 minutes so nothing to complain about, never had to wait for the loo.
No play area for the children but plenty of room to play ball etc on the site and a huge camping field to play in that wasn't too full.
Pitches are brilliant, we stayed in the family bit but it was still nice and peaceful. Dogs were welcome and the walks for them by the river are really lovely.
Super shop on site, best I’ve seen on a campsite! Only thing they didn’t have was Calpol for the youngster in our gang but I’m certain they will have it next time as the people in the shop took a note of it and there was everything else imaginable in the shop down to treats for the dogs.
Blacksmiths arms about a 10/15 walk away is a super dog friendly pub, we took our 3 border collies in who are used to pub life and they were greeted by the pub dog and most of the customers! We didn’t eat at the pub but were told the food is very nice.
River boat to York is good value for money, children and dogs welcome. Wasn’t too busy either which was nice.
All in all a fantastic well run site in a super location cant wait to go back.

Excellent site, very relaxed, clean and friendly, we will definitely return and recommend to our friends.
The River Bus was worth the trip, but we didn't try the local bus service into York. However beware if your taking in the car for the day as it cost us £10 to park!
Next time we will take our bikes as it is nice and flat!
The site was quiet despite being full, there is an adults only bit too. There was lots of space between vans which makes a change and grass pitches around the site too.
The camping fields looked lovely and overlooked the lock at Naburn. Again clean and lots of space for the kids to run around.

Blacksmiths arms ten minute walk away beers good food excellent do nice takeaways dogs are welcome doggie bar provided with treats for a donation to charity. Recommend hiring bike from site shop for a pleasant ride into york on cycle paths. Bus stop at entrance to site and taxi fare to and from site reasonable prices. Brilliant site will be visiting again soon

We chose this site since it was our first ever tour out in our new caravan and wanted to be fairly near to home.
We certainly picked a lovely site and the weather couldn't have been better!
Owners were so friendly and when we first got there we had a problem with our jockey wheel but there was no shortage of people offering to help us out.
The river was so close and although we had picked the only weekend that the river bus was not working, it was still nice to walk down by the weir.
Our children loved the site. It was large enough for them to roam but secure enough to know that they were safe.
The shop was well stocked and the toilets were clean.
We were so impressed that we asked to return the weekend after but they were full! We will return.

Had a beautiful weekend at Naburn. This is a lovely spacious relaxing site, with friendly staff, and nice clean up to date shower blocks! Great walks along the lock and the riverboat into york saves the hassle of driving into the city! The weather was gorgeous for this time of year so we fell lucky! We will certainly be returning.

Just got back from a glorious weekend at Naburn Lock. This is a very peaceful and beautiful site. The showers are spotlessly clean and you could hear a pin drop at night its that peaceful (with the exception of the owls!).
They also have recycling facilities for bottles and cans. You can catch a river boat into York or there is an hourly bus service right outside the park. The village has a nice pub serving food, which is within walking distance.
The river itself is literally two minutes walk away from the site. All in all this is a beautiful site which I would definitely be visiting again.

This was our first run out after picking our caravan up one week earlier.
I wanted somewhere fairly close and local (about an hour away) seeing how we was new to caravanning (well after a 7 year gap).
Naburn was ideal a little awkward to get to but once you got there it was well worth it. To say its only 2 mile from the a64 you feel a lot further tuck away nice peaceful and quiet!
Toilets were very clean plenty of showers and a very well stocked shop on site.
This is an ideal site (for us) very easy to get to, motorway 99% of he way.
Staff was very pleasant and helpful

Have just spent a lovely four day break here over the Easter break and although the site was full, the grass pitches are very very spacious and you don't feel overcrowded at all. Tarmac roads throughout and some street lighting to the top end of the site. We were at the bottom of the site and were disappointed that there is no night lighting down there, so you may need a torch for nightime loo trips, this is my only negative.
Toilets and showers and clean and tidy and have not had to queue for a shower all weekend.
The on site shop is well stocked and has most of your essentials and a small camping accessories section, the loo chemicals cheaper here than at our local caravan dealer!
Had a couple of nice evening walks down to the lock and up the River Ouse, which runs adjacent to the site and watched the boats sailing up and down.
Kids have a good playing field for ball games but no swings / climbing frame, which was a surprise, but plenty of room for cycling their bikes around here.
The pub in the village does food all day and you can get a good cooked breakfast for £2.99 at the weekend and we bought fresh baked bread from there, they have regular evening entertainment at bank hol. Weekends too.
Overall we have rated this site very highly, the access is good, just two miles from the A64 and we made it back from Whitby in an hour, so great for the coast too.
We will definitely use this site again for weekends as it is only an hour from home for us. Highly recommended.

This is a charming site in beautiful grounds next to the river. Spotlessly clean and well kept, and has a child free pitch area if that matters to you.
We like to leave the car when we're away and haven't sussed the buses here yet, but will do next time as taxis and car parking are quite expensive in York. There is a boat bus which you can get on by the camp.
Would definitely visit again.

Just returned from a four day break at this well looked after campsite. As other people have already mentioned the facilities are kept spotless and the owners are really friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. There is a pub / restaurant within walking distance, although we went in the car (literally 2 minutes drive) as there were no footpaths along the road.
We used the park and ride from the nearby Designer Retail Outlet which cost £4.00 return for two adults into York city centre. We would definitely recommend this site to anyone.
