This site is quite simply outstanding. Beautifully maintained, all facilities are up to date, shower/toilet block is immaculate (and nicer than my bathroom at home!) - no children's play area but my son and I were delighted to find a sand pit complete with toy diggers on the camping field. The prices are excellent and there is no low or high season.
The owners are wonderful, so friendly and accommodating - you feel like nothing is too much trouble and they genuinely care about you having a great stay on their site.
The site is on a working farm and all the animals are friendly - my son loved the chickens and the noisy geese.
We are booked again for august and can't wait to return.

This site is the best we have ever visited! The facilities are superb (good clean toilet blocks, washing up sinks, showers, washing machine and dryer, recycling area etc)and the layout of the pitches is extremely well thought out. Every main pitch is separated from the next be a low hedge, has a good sized hardstanding, big grass area, its own electrical point and tap, plus a bin (in enclosure) and a barbecue should you want one. The whole site is kept secure with a gate at the entrance and exit - both accessed by a code which is changed regularly. There is a one-way system for coming in and going out so there is no rule about having to leave by noon or arrive after that time to avoid people getting in each others' way. In fact a great deal of thought has obviously gone into setting the site up and is really impressive. It is an ideal place for couples to stay, especially us oldies!
As well as pitches for caravans, they also have a very pleasant field behind the facilities block for campers in tents. And there is a disabled toilet and shower available, with pitches close by, for anyone needing this facility.
As for the owners - Jan and Steve - you could not meet more friendly, helpful people. Everyone is made to feel very welcome. They have a shop in their garage which stocks a lot of things that you might need, including Jan's homemade jam and eggs from their free range 'happy' hens and ducks - all very delicious!
Nearby in Harper's Hill is a small general store and one of the best fish and chip shops ('Salt & Battered') where they make their own pies. I have a difficult diet and they were even kind enough to make me a pie to order that I was able to eat with no ill effects - who couold ask for more!
Also in the village is an excellent farm shop where they sell locally produced meat, veg and cheese as well as other goods such as Warburton's bread. In the opposite direction to the village is a massive bookshop with very reasonably priced books of all kinds (literally - please excuse the pun - just at the far end of the road that the site is on).
Nearby Buxton has loads to offer, including Pooles Cavern and Solomon's Temple (a folly on top of a hill) and all the shops you are likely to need. There are quite a lot of caves in the area and masses of wonderful walks, as well as Ashbourne to the South and Bakewell to the East. I found a fantastic shop in Ashbourne that sells fair trade clothing (called Equatorial) and of course there is The Original Bakewell Pudding Shop in Bakewell.
I cannot recommend the site or the area enough - it is first class and we will definitely be returning in the near future.

We have just spent 3 weeks at this site, and can not believe we didnt find this before, its an absolutely wonderful place, tame sheep, happy chickens it has it all.
Toilet facilities although at times busy are absolutely spotless.
The owners Jan and Steven are brilliant nothing is to much trouble for them and we feel we were treated more like family than customers.
We are unable to go back again until late this year but already we can not wait to go back, and this site will certainly be on our list of 'must return to sites'

From the time we arrived we were very impressed with the lay out, cleanliness and overall appearence of the site. The owners were very friendly and came straight over to welcome us to their site and asked if we needed anything.
Our hardstanding, as with all of them was outstanding and bins and clean water was very close to every pitch.
The toilet blocks were very modern and very clean and our only critism would be that the gents could do with more than one cubicle room.
The owners live very close by and are on hand should you have a problem. There is fresh produce from the farm shop and a small selection of camping items and groceries.
Buxton town center is only 2 miles away (lovely place) and the bus stop if required is just outside the site.
Good dog walking facilities with bins and bags provided. Would stongly recommend this site to anyone. Great for kids with lots of farm animals to see.
Overall very impressed and pleased with our stay.

Well what can I say . . I ventured here with my other half directly after picking up our new caravan so it was our first outing in it!
When I arrived I was welcomed by Jan who runs the site. She was really friendly from the start and it is clear she is passionate about her site. The site has electic gates accessed by an electronic key code so you feel you're in a safe and secure place as soon as you arrive.
We were told to pitch where we like and found a great spot at the end in pitch 10. Every pitch is hardstanding with a grassed area for your awning along with your own personal rubbish bin, light on top of your electric connection box and a cold tap as standard. They even throw in a BBQ to use free of charge on every pitch if the weather is fine!
We settled in easily and about 6.30pm we had a knock from jan to see if we had settled in ok, asking if we wanted a paper or milk delivering to the caravan door in the morning. Great service.
The toilets and showers put many peoples home to shame and are better than many hotels.
We didnt pay till we left and were told that there is no throwing off time or extra fees to pay but for us to leave when we are ready.
Overall a great experience even if it was really cold! We will be returning and I would recommend it to anyone as a fantastic, fair priced and great site with great owners.

We have been to this site on quite a few occasions, why, because its brilliant!
Very friendly welcome, excellent facilities, ideal location and extremely good value for money.
The site is just 4 years old, although very modern, it still has a good old feel to it. The owners, Stephen and Jan Redfern are really lovely people and will do anything to make your stay a good one. The site has a modern utility block, a good dog walk, if you are taking a dog its best to check with them first as they have their own animals and they don't allow certain breeds.
Not much for the kids to do but they do have there own animals and they are happy for you to look around, they have horses, ponies, goats, lambs, chickens and rabbits. Food is provided in a box if you want to feed the animals.
Newspapers and milk will be delivered to your caravan door daily on request.
A great site and well worth a visit.
