We used this site as a stop off on the way down the A1 and again for one night on our way back up the A1 again. It made our journey into an enjoyable bimble rather than a dreary thrash down the motorway.
The owner was very accommodating and found a pitch for our return journey at short notice.
The first night we stayed in the general area close to the well maintained amenities. There were plenty of water taps handy to fill our motorhome.
The toilets and showers were clean and well maintained (although as usual sadly not left that way by other campers directly after cleaning had taken place) Piped radio music in the loos is a nice touch. Grey water and Elsan was fine, there is indoor and outdoor pot wash and a laundry.
Pitches are generous and mainly hard standing so ideal for motorhomes. If we lived closer we would bring our granddaughter as the children’s play area, well away from the pitches at the far end is absolutely great, with a wilderness nature walk too.
The second night on our return journey we stayed in the adults only section with very generous pitches, a picnic bench on the pitch and perfect peace. There was very slight road noise, but nothing that bothered us at all and easily drowned out by birdsong. The reception/ owner was very friendly and we were walked to our pitch.
The grounds are continuously being maintained with grass cutting and painting, but not in a way that disturbs any peace.
The site is secure with entry and exit only available by barrier key and code entry to the toilet blocks.
We would definitely recommend this site as a stop off, or as a longer stay.
The only point lost for us on the services is there doesn’t appear to be a drive over grey water dump for motorhomes, so take a bucket or grey waste container. This was no problem for us, we simply carried a bucket to the grey waste area.
Value for money, good and cheaper than club sites with equivalent facilities and quieter too, so highly recommended. We paid £22 per night as we were only staying one night at a time. If we had stayed consecutive nights the price drops to £19 per night.
We will definitely return.

What a brilliant site
We where given a very friendly greeting by Mary and jo and shown to. Our pitch on the adult only section.
Flat spacious and peaceful. Just the sound of the birds
Clean water toilet and shower facilities and pot washing.
The wardens work very hard to ensure this site is kept immaculate and that people are happy.
We had a relaxing Easter break and will certainly be putting this site on our frequent list
Well done

Arrived on a Sunday. Very easy to locate the site. First impression are important and unfortunately as we pulled in and walked to the reception it was not the most appealing. Booking in was faultless and the lady we dealt with (not the owner) was very helpful. We had a hard standing pitch close to the toilet block.
The pitch was quite small width wise and by the time we had parked the caravan and put the awning up we had filled the complete width with about a foot of awning having to go on the grass. We were lucky it was quiet as if there had been a caravan on the next pitch it would have been 5 feet from our awning.
I believe there are guidelines as to safety distances between units but this site does not seem to adhere to them. I returned to reception to ask for some information and outside the reception were three small boys (5ish) sat outside wanting to know if I could give them some money. I declined.
Be aware there is only one toilet block. There are only two showers in both the men and ladies to cater for approx 70+units, clean but very dated. Not a problem for us as it was very quiet but I would not want to see it when it is busy.
The 10amp hook up is temperamental but easy to reset. You will need to reset it often. There is a slight hum of road noise from the A1 but nothing to keep you awake. There is however a train line a lot closer which is quite loud. I can see the attraction for parents with children for a weekend but we are not one of those so not for us.

We absolutely love this site. The owners Mary and Joe are lovely, approachable people, perfect hosts and readily available.
Facilities spotlessly clean. I have used the laundry facilities a couple of times and they were very reasonably priced and simple to operate. There is even an ironing board and iron but never used them!
Our dog really enjoys it and there are plenty of walks about.
Rufford and clumber are only a short drive away. We love it so much we have a seasonal pitch!
Would highly recommend for people wanting a peaceful break or parents with young children it has that perfect balance.

The site is located in tuxford surrounded by lovely fields and in walking distance to the local village, the site is clean and well maintained and facilities are excellent, the owners are friendly and very helpful nothing is to much trouble.
The site has a nice park for the kids with a football pitch, the site also has a adults only section which I think is excellent idea.
The site is locted between newark and lincoln two beautiful places to see and a great day out.

We liked the site so much we opted for a Seasonal Pitch, in the new Adults only area.
The site is well kept and spotlessly clean, while we are in the Adults only area, children are welcome in the main part of the site, and it's great to see them enjoying themselves.
When we first arrived at the site our welcome was one of the friendliest, we have ever had and we have been camping for over 25 years. Mary and Joe are great and if you need anything they can't do enough for you.
There is quite a bit to do and see in the area, we have found some good walks nearby, areas to go cycling and the site is close to the River Idle and Chesterfield Canal where we like to go canoeing.
The town of Retford is a short drive away and has a good market.

Stayed for 1 night on a route up the country. Very easy to find from the A1. Met at the barrier and shown to a choice of pitches.
All facilities explained very well. Spotless toilets and showers. A quiet site at this time of year.
Excellent range of shops, etc in nearby Tuxford. Very much recommended for a one night stay en route to other parts of the country.

A very well tended site convenient for Newark On Trent for my regular visits.
Very close to the A1 and ideal for breaks in your journey too. Heated, clean showers and a warm welcome.
A new adults only field to try next time that I book Orchard. Spring time is a great time to go to Orchard.

Just had a visit to Orchard Park to check on our caravan that we have on a seasonal pitch. On entering the park it all looked so nice as the grass had been cut and the winter sun was shinning. It made me so excited for the start of the coming season.
Mary and Joe are always helpful with any incident that may occur. The toilets and showers are always spotless and it is just a nice friendly site for anyone visiting whether it be for a weekend or longer. The kids always like the park at the bottom of the site and the copse is a real hide away for them too.
All in all a lovely site and I can't wait for the new season to start.
