Lovely site that stays open all year, nice clean toilet blocks and very helpful staff.

Nice size pitches in an adult only section.

Dog walk and less than a mile to the local pub

We arrived 10 mins before the site closed and thought we’d missed our slot.

Quick phone call to the Marshalls and they were amazing.

We are first time caravans just picked our van up that day.

Lovely site and again can’t say how much the Marshalls made it for the us.

They helped a newbie get parked up and even rang an hour later to make sure we were settled.

This was our 2nd visit this year. Given choice of 2 large pitches & we chose what we thought was the better one. Very quiet site until the ‘weekenders’ arrived Fri – Sun; some of those with seasonal pitches were quite loud (though to be fair, only in daylight hours) & one of the children, a boy aged about 10, playing chase with his older sister, ran between pitches & behind our caravan, emerging on the other side next to our awning. His sister told him he shouldn’t go down there, to which he said, ‘It’ll be alright!’ – No, it won’t, young man! The same boy also kicked a football which hit something on our pitch – maybe the water barrel. His Dad apologised & ended the kickabout.

The facilities on the site are dated now & whilst adequate if the site is quiet, may not be so if it’s busy. Of the 4 toilets in the ladies’, 1 was out of order the entire length of our stay. There are 2 showers in the ladies’, push-button style. One sprays in bursts of 6 seconds before you need to re-press, but the other lasts longer so is preferable, but the lock on the door did not work – maybe the door has dropped slightly. I mentioned this on the Friday to the owner but by Monday it had still not been fixed & I mentioned it again to the warden. She said she had noticed it herself that morning & would get someone to have a look at it.

Most of the time I used the caravan facilities for washing up; I found the laundry room unlocked; (there are 3 washing up sinks in there which I used to use when we first visited) so used the only sink which didn’t have the owner’s own laundry or glasses piled high on the drainer!

However, she discovered me in there & said the room is private space & should have been locked as there is bleach etc in the cupboard. Rather than fitting a lock on the cupboard, the whole laundry room is locked & is effectively the owner’s own laundry (though campers can ask if they wish to use the washing machine or tumble dryer - presumably if the owner isn’t already using!)

The only other sink for washing up is outside & the only press- down tap is wobbly, takes an age for the water to come warm (not hot) & there is nowhere to put dried plates etc. I balanced our plastic ‘bread tray’ across the other sink (which just has a cold tap) for somewhere to put things. Washing up proceeds after ridding the sink of dead (or living!) insects!

Although the site fees are very reasonable, and the location is very convenient for us to get to, the facilities are in need of upgrading. It’s the only site we’ve visited where there are, in practice, fewer facilities than there were on our first visit 4 years ago. There are also no recycling facilities, something to which we have become accustomed on other sites.

Had a great 4 days stay at orchid park. Nice site and relaxing. Pitches are ok level but full of old slabs? don't know why they have slabs underneath the pebbles were the awing goes, how do you peg out?

Toilet block clean but only 2 toilets in the male for 60 pitches queuing for a poo not nice. Some of the push taps are shocking and water at some just trickle out.

Permanent pitches not very well looked after with BBQs and toys strewn everywhere, old paddling pools strewn over the fence just left? this could be a really nice site if it was thought out more and the nitty gritty of things for customers came first.

We will return as it is ok and we had a good time just spoilt by the eye and lack of toilets. We will use our caravan facilities next time.

What a little gem of a site.

Clean, tidy, welcoming and well run.

Friendly wardens who go out of their way to make a great stay.

We travelled with our friends were sited on the pitches we had asked for and were allowed to put the vans facing door to door.

The pitches are large and flat very easily accessible.

The site is easily reached from the A1 a short distance from Tuxford village.

Looking forwards to another break soon

Very pleasant and spacious pitches at this campsite.

On our visit the site was very peaceful and had a lovely relaxed vibe.

Good clean facilities available on site.

The site has a lovely selection of fruit trees within an orchard with a variety of pitches available to enjoy the setting.

Well worth a mid week visit to relax and unwind.

Surrounded by countryside but with very quick and easy access to Tuxford and all its delightful amenities.

Everything was spot on. Whole site was maintained well, lovely play area for children including large space for ball games.

The key for us was how we felt on the site, Mary and her team couldn't be more welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Completely family friendly but also peaceful.

We loved it so much we left the caravan there and took a seasonal pitch for 12 months

There was nothing to dislike at all at this campsite.

The owners and staff are amazing, so helpful and just genuine lovely people. Other visitors are all friendly and welcoming despite some of them being regulars.

The facilities are second to none. All clean and tidy with beautiful hot showers and hairdrying facilities too.

The kids enjoyed the park, playing football and hide and seek.

We will 100% return to Orchard Caravan and camping in the future.
