We had a one night stop over at this site. It is nicely laid out. We are more used to pitching in a field than set pitches but there is enough room for everyone.
At the end of the site there is a great play area for the kids. The toilets and showers were clean. The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. As we were only staying one night, we made use of the pizza service in town who deliver to your pitch!

We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The owners were friendly and there was a lot of information for the local area if you required it.
Our pitch was level and in a nice spot, the site is well maintained. The toilet block is small but adequate with two showers, there aren't any vanity units so there isn't anywhere private to have a wash or brush your teeth if you didn't want a shower. Although the site was busy I only had to queue once for pot washing. There are washing machines and tumble dryers should you need them although I didn't use them.
The local village of Tuxford is only small. We drove into Tuxford and parked there and then we walked up to the windmill which has a cafe and had a lovely cup of coffee there. We had some chips from the local chip shop for our tea one night and these were nice.
Our two children aged 8 and 6 loved the Orchard we hardly saw them as they made lots of friends and played in the play area and Orchard all the time. Our 8 year old cried when it was time to go home.
It's not far from our home and we shall visit again for short breaks and weekends away.

Just got back from touring and this campsite was a 2 night stop overs, but we really could have stayed longer! On arrival we were greeted by the owners who were very kind and helpful. Its a lovely campsite. Excellent clean loos/showers, small shop and an adventure trail for kids that leads to a gorgeous orchard walk. Our 9yr old daughter loved exploring it and had freedom to come and go as she wanted. We visited Sherwood forest which was good and went to Lincoln as it is only approx 20 miles away. Would def visit again, we had a very relaxing time there.

Stayed for 2 nights on this site but could have stayed longer. It is a lovely and relaxing site and the first time we have spent our entire trip totally on site.
Facilities are clean, although there are only 2 showers in the ladies but we didn't have to queue long. The owners are friendly and show you to your pitch and they also have a walk around at night to make sure everything is ok.
The children thoroughly enjoyed playing in the orchard and in fact we hardly saw them the entire time.
If you book from Friday until Sunday you are able to arrive at 10am and you can stay until 6pm on the Sunday which is brilliant.
We stayed on the main part which is mostly caravans but there are some areas for tents who want an EHU. The other field looks nice too and is for tents but it is more exposed.

Very nice site with owners really going the extra mile to ensure that we were comfortable. Quite a few seasonal vans on the hard standings. Despite being close to the A1 and a railway line the it was very peaceful. They really need a second toilet/shower block. The existing block is spotless but very heavily used. In terms of eating out, the Sandwich shop in Tuxford (which will deliver to the site) never seems to close and does far more than just sarnies. The Mussle & Crab pub is a bit expensive and pretentious. Loads to see and do in the area. We will be going back.

What a fantastic little site the owners really do welcome you and nothing is too much trouble the toilets are spotless and water always hot,and music while you shower well what can I say .A lot of love and thought has gone into this site and there are a lot of personal touches that really do make this a very special site and very welcoming. The location is fantastic and well worth visiting is Mr Straws house , belvior castle , sherwood forest, just to name a few , all the places of interest are in a little wooden hut just outside the shop which sells basics in case of emergency's. We enjoyed it so much met lots of new friends and looking forward to going back soon

As our old VW campervan had died a few days earlier we had to take the tent. The owners were lovely when I rang to change the booking and let us keep the large corner pitch I had booked and even made the correct sympathetic noises when I moaned about the van!
The site was well signposted, just up the road from Tuxford, a village which (sorry to say) had seen better days but still provided us with the necessary co-op, chipshop, chinese takeaway and pub. The owners pointed out other pubs in the area and had lots of leaflets, bar menus and takeaway menus which delivered to the site, for us to peruse.
Two big fields - one with electric hook up, one not - were filled with tents and caravans full of children. (The site is 20 mins away from Sundown Adventureland and Sherwood Forest.) This was okay as the 9 o'clock noise curfew was adhered to.
There were clean toilets and showers with plenty of scalding hot water, washing machine and tumble dryers and a fridge for ice packs.
The kids loved the brilliant adventure trail/playground and ran wildly around the apple orchard at the edge of the site.
If I was to be picky I would question whether our pitch was over the drainage system as it rained heavily one night and the mud smelled not just of mud! Maybe it was my nose? Who knows? Anyway it was a very nice site!

I have just got back from this site after a five night stop. The site is very good. The owners could not have done a better job, they were very helpful and pleasant. The toilets/showers very clean and I liked the music. But the water was very hot. I would say too hot for a small child.
Maybe the pitches could have been further apart. I liked the site, but my wife said there where not enough footpaths or walks for her. Apart from walking into tuxford. I myself did not hear much noise from the A1. I did hear a train now and then but they would not wake me up.
The down side for us was the amount of children. There must have been about 25 from 5 tents. There was a no ball game policy but they still did. Football, frizzby, bat and ball and a thing that looked like a rugby ball with fins on one end that was thrown about to each other. And when they all got into the playground area you most certainly would not hear the A1 or the trains.

We have just returned from this lovely campsite. We travelled as a party of 6 adults and 4 kids all 3 years and under in 3 tents. We were sited in the small field and think we had the best pitches! There is a sml kids play area at the bottom end of the site with some pitches around it but it seemed to be quite noisy.
The owners are very helpful and said we could do whatever we liked with the space. The picnic tables were very useful.
The shower and toilet facilities were well maintained and the disabled shower room proved very useful when washing with kids. You do need to ask for a key to use them.
Aswell as the dishwashing area there was a pay per use washing machine and tumble dryer!
Tuxford is a short drive away with a nice chinese take away and a large Tescos in Ollerton is 15 min drive away. For essentials like milk there is a small shop on site.
We travelled to Sundown Adventure Park which was 20 mins away and had a brill day. Its completely aimed at under 10's so no good going with older children. We also had a day at Sherwood Pines which is also about 20 mins away.
Overall this was a fab weekend and we will be returning!

We met friends here for a long weekend and had a great time. Site is very well laid out, the facilities are great. Toilets/showers are clean and well situated. Owners very friendly and helpful they stocks basic provisions, useful information point. Play area is great we had five kids between us from age 5 - 13 and they were all well entertained. Lots of places to visit and shops, takeaways just down the road in Tuxford - would go back.
