We spent a lovely three days here and really loved the peacefulness. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful older couple who made us feel very welcome. We paid up front, and they gave us a security barrier key (£5 deposit). The pitches are great and most back on to the edge of the site. It's a long thin site so we were not surrounded by loads of people.
At the far end is a play area with a quite impressive children's assault course and a walk for dogs etc. My two pre-teens enjoyed the site. My lad did a lot of running round the dog walking area.
We used the site for a short break as it is relatively close to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park and Doncaster Dome and was on our way home from an event we had attended.
I must quickly mention the shower facilities as these were top notch; spacious shower rooms, really clean and even had a blue kitchen cloth by every wash basin for us to clean up our mess.
We were really pleased to find the site and even the gentle rolling train sounds seemed to fit nicely to the ambience of the place.

We stayed three nights in November.
Well signposted from the main A 6075 Lincoln Road
Reception were very helpful with local information and numerous free maps.
Small shop has free range eggs(£1-80 for 6), milk, ice creams and a few tinned foods but no bread.
Access to the site is by a key operated barrier on arrival and a push button to exit.
There were very few people on site, no more than a dozen, during our stay.
We had a good size hard standing pitch with hook up and water tap.
All facilities for Motorhomes were available but there was not a 'proper' waste water grate – only a small drain point that was difficult to park along-side and needed our flexible Motorhome waste pipe to direct the water to the drain.
Toilet/Shower block was clean, well maintained and cleaned daily with piped music (?) playing all day inside the block.
'Dog walk' indicated on the site map is very short and dogs must be kept on a lead.
Fountain Pub, about a fifteen minute walk, is very good and well worth a visit for food - including all day breakfast and evening meals.
The main road outside the camp-site is reasonably quiet but there is some noise from the nearby busy rail line - although we slept soundly without being disturbed by any outside noises.
As well as the Pub there are three types of takeaway in Tuxford and a well stacked Costcutter shop half way between the site and Tuxford.

I have just returned from a 2 night stay here with family and friends and have had a great time. The staff were very welcoming.
The pitch was a good site and comfortably fit our tent and 2 cars- and it was great having a picnic bench (came in very handy when our own tent broke!)
The toilets were dated however they were kept very clean- the showers were OK only negative being it was push button- can be frustrating when trying to wash hair!
My kids (8, 6, 3) enjoyed the play park and walking through the orchards.
Great location for exploring- we visited Sherwood Forest and went to see Major Oak very easy to get to.
Will definitely stay here again!

Great site, clean and tidy all the way. Stayed last weekend, group of 8 in 3 tents. The site has picnic tables which came in handy. About 20 min walk to the pub, The Fountain is a great pub with a nice beer garden. The owners are lovely people and very helpful. I would like to thank the family, who camped over the field from us, for the lovely letter they left for us. It was great to know we gave you free entertainment and a memorable experience. We will definitely be back! Happy camping! Xx

Just had a weekend at orchard Park,
The weather was great. The pitch was nice
And flat with plenty of room, the toilet block was clean and tidy but when having a shower the water started trickling out once the cubicle next door was activated. The Shop on Site was handy for an icelolly. It was a great weekend, it was a shame about the the seasonal campers, they could have been more friendlier.
All in it is a place we will be visiting again. We had a walk down to the local pub, we sat out the back and there was bouncy castle that was free for the children.

I love Orchard Park. Stayed there 3 or 4 times.
The pitches are level, and well spaced out. We have a massive trailer tent, and there has never been an issue with the space.
The shower blocks are a little bit dated, but the showers are always warm, and the pressure is good - there's sometimes a queue at busy times, but they are always clean - and the local radio is piped into them, which is a nice touch.
Vehicle access to the site is controlled via a barrier, and you have to pay a small (refundable) deposit for the key fob to open the barrier. There is a small car park outside the barrier for 2nd cars/visitors.
There's a play area at the back of the site, with mown paths into the woods for the children to disappear into for hours on end (walky talkies are a must).
The washing facilities are a bit limited, but they are clean, and for the washing machines, they are reasonably priced.
There's a small shop on site that stocks the very basics, but there is a Spar and a Co-Op a few minutes drive away. Tesco is about 15 minutes away.
Lincoln is about 40 minutes away, as is Sherwoood Forest & Clumber Park, so there is plenty to do in the area.
As the site is near the A1 you do get some road noise at busy times, but on the plus side, it means you can get to places quite quickly.
The site generally gets quiet around 9:30pm as the families get the kids to bed.
All in all, a nice site, well placed to visit lots of places.

We stayed for 7 nights, and really enjoyed it. A good mix of people on site (seasonal pitches, over nighters and those on holiday). Our daughter (6) loved the play area and orchard - making lots of friends.
The toilet block was always clean, showers hot (too hot on occasion - no temperature control), but with only 2 showers there could be a wait. Also has a shop with basic provisions, and a good selection of tourist information. Staff were very helpful.
Our pitch was large (arranged over the phone to fit large tent on), although not flat. There had been problems with flooding in previous weeks, but it was OK when we were there.
Plenty to do in surrounding area - Sundown Adventureland was a big hit, as was Sherwood Pines. Further afield Magna in Rotherham and the Space Centre in Leicester were good days out.
The Fox in Kirton (on route to Ollerton) was good for food - ask for the £9.95 for two meal menu for value for money.
You can hear the railway (East Coast line) and A1 - but it didn't detract from peaceful site. We will certainly be returning.

Visited this site for 2 weeks holiday family of 4 very friendly welcoming and shown to our pitches.
Large tent pitches with each pitch having its own picnic table. Plenty of space for kids to run around and have fun.
Good play area and orchard. Facilities always clean. Even thou only 2 showers we never had to wait for them.
Close to many towns to visit ( retford was a good town with many shops and a market ) brownlow arms nearby was good value money for food.

Spent 2 nights at Orchard Farm. Very friendly owners who kindly helped this (very) novice caravanner get unhitched and set up.
We had a pitch right at the bottom at the site, directly opposite the playarea, this was brilliant for my kids as they were soon in the thick of it and we could watch them easily. Perhaps not so great if you have younger children, as the older ones of 8, 9, 10 ages were still out having fun and being noisy at nearly 10 oclock!
The playarea is better than average, more like a trim trail, it winds its way through the fruit trees. No swings, but lots of climbing. Big field at the bottom so the kids could run about and play ball, but I noticed these were unused pitches to one side, so perhaps not such a big open space when this site is full.
Would recommend a mooch round the orchard, its not massively big, but there are lots of interesting pathways and a number of picnic benches.
Toilets clean and showers were free with plenty of hot water.
Small amount of noise from nearby rail line, but not all that intrusive.
£5 deposit for barrier key, that is returned when you leave. £5 wifi charge.
One off payment of £5 to register your dog with the owners, lasts for the lifetime of the animal. Tiny dog exercise area, but lots of nearby walks.
Can recommend the fish and chip shop in town :)
Will definitely visit again. Kids made loads of friends and didn't want to leave!

We stayed at this site over the bank holiday weekend. The lady welcomed us and was very helpful and friendly and showed us to our pitch. We had hard standing. There wasn't much room between pitches and felt a bit cramped in.
It was quite busy with it being bank holiday and there wasn't much room for the kids to play, the play area was ok but wasn't very good for our 4 year old and it was muddy with puddles so the kids didn't play there.
The showers and toilets were clean, but are a bit tired and could do with being updated. The ladies toilets and showers were cleaned at 10. 30 until 11. 15 am which is an odd time to clean them, one morning I had to queue as there is only two showers, and by the time I got in the shower it was 10. 20 am I had been waiting since 9. 50 and then was told by the cleaner to hurry up please as she needed to clean them, so had to rush!
The local town Tuxford had 3 nice take aways, chinese, indian and a chip shop. There is a costcutter and co-op for bits and pieces but there is a Asda and Tesco about 6 or 7 miles away.
One day we had a few thunderstorms and had heavy downpours and our awning was flooded a couple of times and we had to move everything off the floor, don't think the site had very good drainage.
We were away for 17 nights and used this as a stop over from Somerset as we wanted to visit Lincoln, this was the most expensive site we stayed, the one we stayed at in Somerset was £8 a night cheaper and was by far a better site with better facilities.
Site was ok but wouldn't visit this site again.
