My first review here and we're off to a good start. I phoned the camp and left a number. Within half an hour, James the owner had returned my call. What a very nice helpful guy he was. I turned up 2 days later for an overnighter to be greeted by Claire, James's wife. She was lovely, charming and bubbly. She showed me around and let me pick a pitch that I liked. Its a great site. Very quiet mid week and very clean. They have a field with different animals in. Elpacas, goats, chickens and lots of rabbits. At the moment there are male and female toilets and showers but new ones are being built as we speak. What there are, are lovely and clean but do need a tad of modernising as the camp owners are obviously aware of. At night there are lots of leds lights around the camp. It really is very pretty. Overall a lovely place to stay, hosted by a great couple. Would I stay again? Oh yes, no hesitation.

This was our first visit and we hired out the Bell Tent. What a result. It was fantastic with the added bonus of a fire pit.
The site was set in a lovely location surrounded by fields and trees and sheltered from the road. It was easy to find, clean, tidy and had a lovely friendly atmosphere with animals wandering around. My son and I were particularly fond of Darwin the ginger cat who frequented our tent. We had easy access to the local playground and pub via a short footpath from the site avoiding the road. In the evening the site was lit by fairy lights that made it magical for all of us especially as we listened to the owls.
Claire & James were friendly and helpful and involved the children in tending to the animals, such as feeding the sheep and collecting the hen’s eggs. It was a real treat.
The toilet block was small but always kept clean and tidy, really appreciated.
We had a lovely time and have special memories. We hope to visit again. Thank you Mommy and Freddie Bear

This is our second visit here and it was even better than the first if that's possible, we stayed 4 nights in the school holidays.
Claire & James Really friendly and helpful as ever, involving all the children that wished to in egg collecting, feeding the hens, alpacas and pigs etc and we could buy the eggs we had been collecting.
Such a wonderful place for kids, great play area short drive to beach and local shop. Short walk to local pub.
Great dog walks
Toilets and showers clean but basic.
The chickens wandered around the site, A chicken shared our tent one night, our granddaughter thought that was the coolest thing ever! and it snored less than hubby!
The ice cream van called into the site one day, shame it did not do that every day.
Fire pits available. Fridge freezer in reception to use (although someone took our big ice block so it might be wise to label them)
I love this site and I would give it 12 out of ten if I could.

We are a family of 5 & visited this campsite for the first time in the school summer holidays. We were among a big group consisting of 8 other tents with adults & children. We had a great spot where we could all be together, by the turkeys! The site is really lovely, there are chickens roaming around (watch out they don't go in your tent!) & pigs, sheep & alpacas to see. There is access to a great playground, which kept the children amused for many an hour! You can have a campfire, which is a bonus. We made use of the freezer, too. We went for a couple of great walks nearby. There are two washing up sinks - more would be nice as we did have to wait on more than one occasion. The main thing that lets the site down is the basic & dated toilet block, consisting only of two toilets, one shower (imagine the queues during peak season!) & two sinks. Also, the hot water did run out in the morning & a some of our group had to have cold showers - not nice! Some investment here would be well received! Would we return? Possibly.

The camp site is easy to find and really is close to the pub and church. We liked the idea of the board allocating our pitch. Pitches large and as there were only a few campers staying we were all quite a distance from each other. There was never any one else in toilet or shower, so never had to queue. Toilet and shower clean but both my partner and I had to share the shower with a toad! Campsite clean, chickens galore but they were no bother. Fridge freezer very welcome, especially for ice blocks. We had thunderstorms and torrential rain during our stay and it was a bit scary going out in the rain, in the dark to the toilet so grateful for the lights along the pathways

The site is beautifully located, mainly level, with large well kept pitches. Pitches near the toilet block and reception are surrounded by mature trees but are all occupied on what looks like a permanent basis. Newer pitches are less well screened. Toilet block is old and as a result difficult to keep really clean. Two toilets and one large shower cubicle for each sex. Men's shower was not cleaned during the four days we were there and was not provided with a mop or squeegee that campers could use. Washing-up area was really dirty, with the same bird droppings on the draining board throughout our stay! Owners were helpful if you could find them - but reception was not staffed and one of the owners worked off site a lot of the time. This could be a beautiful site but it does the owners have taken on more they can handle.

This was our third visit and was even better than previous trips with the addition of the feeding of the alpacas, etc. Absolutely brilliant for small children to play amidst all the animals wandering around, and lots of peace and quiet for the adults. Borrowed a fire pit and brought fish & chips back from the pub then toasted marshmallows. Dog loves it too as lots of walks from site. Very friendly couple running it, with fresh eggs to purchase which were gorgeous poached. Yes, you may have to queue for a shower at busy times but so what, what's the hurry? All of us (family of 4) came back totally relaxed and can't wait to return.

We visited this campsite recently. On arrival there was no clear indication of where reception was but fortunately the owner was on site. We were shown to our pitch and given a brief tour of the site. Electric hookup was available.
The toilet block was small (ladies had two toilets and one shower) but the water was hot and they were generally clean. Washing up facilities were generally clean as well.
There was an excellent children's playground nearby, with pedestrian access from the campsite. There was also pedestrian access to the village pub.
On site were sheep, pigs, alpacas, turkeys, chicken and ducks. The chickens were a menace though and the only negative to our stay. They flocked around whilst we tried to prepare meals, trying to steal things off the table, even the cooker at one meal! and the chickens even went into the tent. They took a lot of encouragement to deter them.
If you don't mind chickens getting up close and personal, this site is for you!

Had a lovely relaxing break on this lovely campsite. The site is nicely laid out with plenty of room on the pitches, and a new entrance to the site. The toilet block although small, only one shower each, was spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water. The owners are extremely friendly people who couldn't do enough for you. Chickens run free range over the site and there are always plenty of free range chicken and duck eggs for sale.
There is a footpath to the local pub, which is a community owned pub, called the Sorrell Horse, which serves excellent meals and fantastic breakfasts on Sundays mornings. Local shop is a short drive away in next village and nearest large shops are in Woodbridge, however for a major supermarket you'd have to travel to Ipswich.
The local countryside is a beautiful area for walks and the coast is only a short drive away, 4 to 5 mls to nearest shingle beach.
I visited during a rather wet weekend and still found things to do, but can imagine that in the summer it must be even nicer, and a lot busier, but I do intend to visit again.

The best campsite we've ever stayed on. Very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Don't be put off by total of two showers - rarely a queue. Showers and toilets clean; showers hot. Pitches generous and no problem hiring firepit and wood. Big fridge to leave stuff in. Dogs welcome. Pub is two minutes away via fields (so no need to go on road) and has excellent food, beer and wine at reasonable prices. Does breakfast at the weekend, but we stayed midweek. We would have loved to stay longer but work beckoned. Will definitely go back again asap. Excellent shop at Hollesley (couple of miles away) that stocks pretty much all you'll need.
