Stayed here for a week during Easter and will definitely return.
The site is well maintained and tidy. Showers/toilets are very clean and even have the radio on in there! There is a small shop on site, but for all your needs there is a morrisons 5 minutes down the road. Free wifi is available but you have to be situated by reception, there is a games room you can sit inside. It has a small park for the children to enjoy. Butchers shop on site, very good value and tasty. All the staff on site are very friendly and helpful.
This site was ideal for us as we went cycling on the tissington trail, monsal trail and around carsington water. All just a short drive away. We also walked from the site up to Soloman's temple.
The only negative for us was the speed at which some cars drive in through the entrance. We were situated next to the entrance and with two children we had to be mindful.

Our second visit in as many months and we were not disappointed.
When I rang only a week or so before for us and my parents in a separate motorhome, I requested the upper level but was informed it was booked up. Very friendly and apologetic, however when we arrived we had been given a spot, pitches next to each other on the top level. Thank you, lovely views and quieter as not near the road. What brilliant service.
My parents loved the site and the Taxi for £3. 80 was again a great bonus.
Not sure what else I can say except that this is a brilliant site, clean and good shower, toilet block.
We will be back

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 children (3 and 6) along with our friends. We pitched on the main tent field, next to each other.
The site is clean, well maintained and the views were outstanding.
On our arrival we were given lots of information, including some vouchers for 20% off various eating establishments in Buxton. Also they have a deal with the local taxis £3. 80 into Buxton. Bargain!
Facilities were good, clean and lots of hot water which we needed as it was cold at night, but a good hot shower sorted you out!
The camping field was on a slope and there was a downhill walk to the shower block but that didn't bother us.
We all loved our stay and will def be back

I found this site very good, it was clean, tidy and quiet. It was the perfect place to get away and relax. The surrounding area was stunning with great views from the camping field. All facilities were well laid out and maintained to an exceptional standard. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Very friendly welcome at reception, and shown to our pitch with EHU by the young lady. The pitch was right next to the road, which didn't prove to be the nuisance we might have expected. As the site was fully booked for the next couple of nights, our second night was spent on one of the camping terraces without EHU, which meant a bit of judicious levelling. We had an easy cycle into town, and spent a very pleasant few hours discovering the delights of Buxton.
Why doesn't Buxton actually have any spa facilities? Other UK spa towns have resurrected their original spa facilities and features, but not Buxton. I believe they're missing out on an even more unique visitor experience. Having said that, the lower part of town with the park and old buildings was a delight.
Later that evening we took a taxi into town to avail ourselves of the 20% offers from the campsite. We had chosen the Cheshire Cheese based on a visit earlier in the day. Oh dear. What a disappointment. The 'wine list' was a complete joke. Then we were told they had run out of pies. And chips! On a Saturday night? Unbelievable. That meant there were only about 3 possible items left on the menu. So we left and tried our luck in town. The Panda Chinese restaurant was very agreeable.
None of the above is the fault of the campsite, but we feel it needs to be mentioned to assist future visitors.
Overall we enjoyed our 2 nights at Lime Tree, and we'll return.

Needed somewhere local for one night just to get away from the daily grind of work so we picked this site as its only 18 miles away from where we live. On arrival we were welcomed and personally shown to our pitch who pointed out where the nearest water etc points to our pitch were, very friendly and helpful. The site is very tidy and clean could not fault it for 22 quid. We got a taxi into buxton for a fixed fair with a local company £3. 80 who were very prompt there and back. After a few beers and a nice big rack of ribs we went back to the site for a good dvd ( me beers, her coffee ) at about 19, 45 a couple turned up in the dark still being shown to there pitch but were struggling to get there van backed in, so I went out to help. Although we all sorted it the receptionist had been about to go and get a small tractor with towball to push the van in to place (that's what I call good service). Overall very nice and friendly, cheap tidy site, 15 min walk into buxton maximum. Morrisons 5 mins walk. Will definitely be back there. A great place to relax !

A great site, good facilities, very clean. We had a hard standing pitch with electric. There are quite a few statics and seasonal pitches.
Good size pitch, we where at the top, lovely views. Viaduct is brilliant to see, only a few freight trains going over. Not noisy.
Owners very friendly and helpful.
The farm up the road does meat packs and although they weren't open the farmer made one up for us, brilliant. You can usually get from the site direct.
Buxton is a lovely place to visit, there are quite a few dog friendly cafes and pubs.
The Railway is good for a meal and they give you a 20% off voucher when booking in, they let dogs in. Also The Cheshire Cheese allows dog and the food is good there. The Tradesmans Entrance cafe allow dogs in and do a fab breakfast, it's in the upper part, market place. There are plenty of other pubs and cafes to choose from this is a very small selection of some we tried.
Taxi £3. 80 from anywhere in Buxton to site, you get a card given on arrival from warden with telephone no on, good value.
Plenty of local shops, a Morrisons and Aldi in Buxton, there is also Marks and Spencer and Waitrose.
Would definitely stay again, in fact we are in a couple of weeks.

We stayed here for 4 nights last week. The owner is very customer focused, engaging and keen to provide an enjoyable experience and generally look after his customers.
The (grass) main grounds were very wet and soggy when we visited (due to the recent storms) but this was not a problem and did not affect our overall experience.
The internal roads and driveways, hard-standing pitches (good size for our tourer), toilets and showers were all to a very good standard.
The site is ideally situated with easy access to Buxton town center within a mile or so and also with spectacular views (particularly on the 'Hill Top' pitch area for touring caravans). We saw just two or three goods trains
On the viaduct during our 4 day stay and these added to the location interest without any intrusion or noise.
The toilets and showers are excellent, very clean and well managed, with plenty of hot water (it can take a bit of time to run to hot. No big problem). Piped music. Great. The only downside is the toilet roll
Dispensers which seem to be dispensing very delicate tissue which might be OK for the ladies but us blokes need something much more substantial (this might be a personal problem of mine ?).
We've already recommended the site to other family members and we will be returning again ourselves.
Overall, we would thoroughly recommend this site.

We stayed for 2 weeks at the end of September, the staff were very friendly and helpful and supplied us with a pack on arrival of things to do and discounts they had been able to arrange. Site was kept lovely at all times, toilets and showers were always spotless but they could do with upgrading the plumbing as you had to run the tap in the sink for a couple of minutes until the water came through hot before you could have your shower and then the water pressure was very poor, luckily being late in the season there were not to many on the site as there were only 3 showers which I would imagine in busy period would mean having to wait in a queue to use them. Would visit again as enjoyed our stay but only in quiet periods,

This is a nice site. Very close to Morrisons Supermarket for essentials, approx 5 minutes on a cycle or 15 minutes walk. The town of Buxton is very close and provides everything you may want. We took a tent with EHU with 2 children and a toddler. The children's play area is OK, but a bit too far for comfort from EHU tents and tourers. The play are is quite close to the bigger tent field, but very much out of view from the side at which we stayed. As mentioned previously toilets and facilities are clean and dog walking area is well mowed and clean. We stayed for 3 nights and the only grumble was a very large party (almost a rally) apparently an annual event last weekend prior to school term commencing and they were lacking a little in etiquette in terms of keeping the noise down. Signage asks for quiet after 10pm, but at 11. 30pm it was still quite rowdy. Which didn't help our little ones sleep. Any other weekend and I don't think you would have a problem. Great base to access the Monsall Trail which is about 15 minutes drive away.
