We just spent a lovely weekend at Lime Tree Park with friends. It's a great site and the owners were friendly from booking to leaving. We had booked a static, a touring pitch and a tent pitch as we were a large party with children and babies.
The static was great, well appointed and clean and ideal for the 3 adults and 3 children that stayed in it. Our touring pitch was fine, with lovely views and we had a nice grassy pitch next to us for our friends in a tent.
I must admit we don't normally stay on large sites like this as we find them too noisy and too tightly packed in. This site was very quiet though so can't complain about that.
The toilet block was well equipped and has a lock on so you need a code from reception to get in. The code is different for the baby change facilities! This room is lovely though, it has a normal sink and one that you can use as a baby bath which is great for young babies.
The women's toilet block is fine, nice and clean with music playing all the time. I used the shower in there one day, but the block was very cold. I started using the end shower, but had to move as the water pressure was really low.
There is a dog walk area where you can let them off leads, however we have two border collies and with all the sheep around I decided to keep them on a lead. If you go to reception, they will give you directions for a farm walk, which you can do from the site and is great for the dogs and has lovely views - takes around 30 mins if you take it gently.
All in all a great site and if we were another big party I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

We spent a lovely snowy Easter weekend at Lime Tree Park. The campsite is ideally located for day trips to Buxton, Bakewell, Chatsworth House Estate and the stunning Derbyshire countryside as well as plenty of local country pubs and amenities. The site itself, albeit quiet due to the snow at the time of our stay, is well equipped and we were given a warm welcome despite the freezing temperatures outside. We fully recommend this site for a family break or holiday.

We spent a wet, cold weekend in April here.
Having read reviews of this site we were somewhat disappointed. Yes the site is clean & tidy. The staff are friendly & helpful. The location is stunning.
What the reviews did not say is the touring area is on top of a hill. This is not good when staying in a campervan. Although we moved to a slightly flatter pitch we spent the whole weekend walking up hill & not being able to use our cooker.
We thought the site was expensive, it was £25 per night for us in camper van. The family members, who joined us, were charged the same for a night in a tent, with no electric hook up!
The shower block was clean, tidy & well maintained, with free showers. But a lack of water pressure meant the water come out of shower at a dribble, very disappointed as the appearance of block is very nice.
In order to use the laundry facilities we had to carry washing down a steep hill & back up after wards, as the laundry is next to reception.
The site has too many rules, there is a list of them on the shower block. We felt we could not relax as we had to keep constant watch over our dog, grand children & whisper after 10pm.
Do not intend on returning to this site.

Wonderful site!
Arrived not knowing what to expect as a first timer using a local site as a trial run before venturing further afield and could not have been more warmly welcomed. The receptionist was helpful and chatty and gave me some good tips on general tenting etiquette and how to make life a bit easier. The warden then took the time to show me to our pitch personally and showed us the amenities which seemed well looked after and clean. Then he even showed me where I was going wrong with my tent!
As a local to the area I know Buxton but there was a great range of leaflets and information on things to do around and in town. The only thing that put a damper on the stay was the weather but I suppose you can't expect miracles!
All in all a lovely site and I hope the main event lives up to the taster we had!

Arrived to a really friendly reception which was genuine and informative. We were shown to our pitch which was great, well spaced out on hard standing with bit of grass to the side. We had fantastic views of the viaduct and the surrounding countryside.
The water point was close and the toilet block just a minutes walk. There was a family bathroom plus good sized toilets and shower room which had free flowing hot water with places to put and hang things. It was absolutely immaculate. It had fresh flowers and piped radio music with hairdryers soaps and creams - lovely! The site was busy but really quiet at night. Its in a great spot for getting away from it all and being able to walk into town.
Plenty of variety of pubs, shops restaurants, gift shops and places of interest. If you want to have a nice meal then try and book early cos they get booked up we went in the Chinese which was good value and tasty. Taxi's are cheap too £3.50 right into the site. The site is easy to find and no problems with access.
This is a gem of a site in a lovely part of the country, would definitely recommend to anybody. The only people I might hesitate to recommend to is young families as there didn't seem to be a lot to do for little ones which suits us as a couple just fine.

This is a lovely campsite. There appears to be a lot of seasonal static caravans but there was also plenty of tents pitched around.
The scenery of the viaduct and hill was lovely and the facilities are good. The toilets/showers are kept clean.
There was some noise until 12 pm on the first night despite the warning sign of no noise after 10 pm.
There's a morrisons at the bottom of the road which is ideal and Matlock and Bakewell are all within a short drive away.
We also visited the East Midlands Discount shopping village which was excellent!

Had a lovely week here. Just about managed to get our caravans up the hill to the top pitches with a lovely view of the viaduct. Train mad children very excited when an occasional freight train went over.
Lots of people keep their caravans on site here and many around us were not in residence, however one or 2 with tv's in awnings were a bit loud quite late on at times.
Quite close to a rat run of a road with a bit of road noise which is a shame.
Showers and toilets are checked regularly. The showers are proper and not push button ones! Hooray!
There is a little play area but too far away for little one to explore by himself. However, he enjoyed scootering up and down the roadway and round the roundabout!
I had my 40th birthday here and the wardens delivered me some flowers ordered by my family. So will remember this place!
Would definitely return!

I visited this site for a week on my own with my 8 year old son, we had a lovely time despite the weather. Even though it was just the 2 of us we felt very safe, the site itself was very pretty we managed to pitch on one of the Terraces leading up to the top field. The ground was quite sloppy but we managed to pitch to minimise the affect.
My son loved the little pool room and play park and once we were back from our days out I hardly saw him as he was off with the other children playing.
The toilet facilities were always clean, they were coded to get into which was a bit high for my son, he could reach the ladies just but not the men's.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way one evening when the site was very quiet to keep my son entertained.
There were plenty of places in Buxton to eat and take aways, but we tended to eat when we were out and about.
We would use this site again if in the area.

This camp site is situated in a beautiful location, the owners left a little bit to be desired, on the sunday night they were out leaving nobody in charge on the camp site.
We went to a theme park for the day and they appeared out of nowhere and said we weren't allowed to leave our dogs unattended for the day, when I explained I thought it was better to leave them in the tent for a few hours than locked in the car he dismissed me out of hand. When my wife took the dogs for their evening toilet they told us there was a proper dog walk and they didn't like where we were walking the dogs, (outside our tent). When my 2 girls went in the shop the owners wife was quite rude to them, telling them to hurry up as she other things to be getting on with.
To sum up this this site, it is beautiful site, in a great location but I will be looking elsewhere next year which is a pity as this site is in a great location.

Visited this site in July during another very wet spell. Although the grassed areas were waterlogged the staff succeeded in keeping the site looking very clean and tidy. Our pitch was on the top touring field, overlooking the viaduct.
The toilet and shower block were kept very clean, both my wife and I were happy with the temperature and power of the showers and agreed that the piped 24/7 radio was a very nice touch. The building itself was kept aired though cold in an effort to stop condensation, but not a problem for us. We explored the whole of the site and found it very well kept with good facilities though we never actually used the shop or launderette.
To be honest the only time we met the staff was when they showed us to our pitch although we did see them during the frequent inspection/cleaning visits to the shower/toilet block.
The site is very well situated a short distance from Buxton, a Morrisons supermarket is a short walk/drive away and the town of Buxton itself has so much to offer, especially lovely are the Pavilion Gardens.
We also visited The Blue John mine, Castleton and Eyam. Very interesting places that we would highly recommend people to visit.
We would definitely stay at Lime Tree again and recommend the site as a great base for your visit to the area.
