A fantastic site! run by some of the friendliest people we've met.

We had rain all week but all the electric pitches are hard standing with path ways around the field, so that stopped everything getting muddy!

The toilet/free shower block were spotless & even had a free hairdryer, they also had a really useful family room we could take our 2 year old in to shower. I usually wash up in the caravan but the washing up facilities were so nice I used theirs!

The site was kept very tidy & looked pretty with flowers everywhere (even in the toilets)

The adventure playground kept our 2 year old occupied for a short while but could do with a couple of baby swings & maybe a roundabout!

Buxton town centre is within walking distance with a big morrisons & two good pubs for food the railway & weatherspoons.

I highly recommend this caravan park & we would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

Just made the short journey over to Buxton, to a site which had been recommended by friends.

Arrived on a rather wet Friday, to be met by the warmest of welcomes, we were pointed in the direction of the camping field, warned it was wet, and even offered assistance to get our camping gear onto pitch if necessary.

The sun came out over the weekend and the site dried out well.

The only problems were caused by inconsiderate campers, who ignored advice and went where they wanted, one even camped right in front of the bins , obscuring them from the rest of us, !.

The toilets and showers were kept in fantastic condition, even with the wet conditions, there was occasionally a small wait for the showers, but it was Bank Holiday.

Site is beautiful, fantastically situated for walking, and visiting Buxton.

Sunday morning the children were treated to a free treasure hunt. Children, mums and dads all joined in the fun with each child receiving a prize. Brilliant !

We booked in at short notice over the Bank Holiday weekend, as most places had already filled up, and to be honest, I wish I’d tried harder!

The site itself was pleasant enough, handy location for getting around. However, the site seemed to be a magnet for large families, which means there were kids everywhere! Also, the top camping field was the only place where ball games could be played, so it became pretty noisy. On the Sunday the site owner set up a treasure hunt and hid one of the treasures behind our tent!

The toilet/showers were good enough, showers that stayed on and pumped out hot water, however with so many families there, there really wasn’t enough and if you are in the top field, and need the loo in the middle of the night, be prepared for a long trek there and back and a nasty hill! Also, don’t forget the pin code for the toilet doors!

There’s a very strict no bonfire rule, which means no burning wood at all, even in a pit or BBQ. The top field is also on quite a slope and although it was dry all weekend, the ground was still very wet (although at least that meant the pegs went in easily).

One real plus was that the local butcher called in twice a day which was really handy, but sadly not enough to make me want to visit again.

We visited this site at Easter and cant fault their hospitality and beautiful site.

The weather was glorious the facilities the best we have come across, toilets always spotless and lovely hot showers that were free!

We were greeted with warm smiles and even escorted to our pitch. Lots of friendly advise, places to visit and local walks, nothing was too much trouble . We even had a a local Indian delivered to us that evening !

The views from our pitch were amazing and as the sun went down you could not wish for better, so quiet as they have a 10pm noise restriction, most were asleep or just enjoying the evening.

1 mile from buxton and just a 10 min walk to the local.Just perfect

We will be back very soon!

We we stayed here during the early May bank holiday for a family get together. The tent sites filled up quickly on the Friday afternoon, but people weren't crammed in too much. There's some flatter tent spots nearer the entrance and a larger sloping field further up; this is quite nice but a bit of a walk to the toilet block at night.

The washrooms are clean, but we didn't use them that much as we had family members staying in static caravans and log cabins. Incidentally, the log cabins would be great for a winter break.

Some of the family arrived late in the evening, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating or helpful.

The site is not too far out of Buxton, quite a good location, there are walks directly from the site. Plenty of National Trust places are nearby, would particularly recommend Lyme Park.

Would definitely go back, the area is very scenic, and everyone was so friendly.

We decided to go away for a few days at Easter at very short notice.

Rang this site on the Thursday morning before Easter & were advised that we were too late to get on what they call the terraces as they were all booked up. However they also have a large camping field which they would open as the heavy rain the day before had not affected it too badly.

Arrived on Easter Sunday to one of the warmest & friendliest welcomes I think I have ever had. We were given a quick guide to what was where & then pointed in the direction of the camping field.

The field is huge, although a little exposed despite having two walled sides to it but it wasn't overly windy that weekend & clever use of the car & a windbreak should sort it. The late decision to open the field meant that there was only three or four tents on there all weekend. The ground was slightly soft but far from being muddy.

The toilet/shower facilities are located at the back of reception & it was a bit of a steep hike getting back to the top of the field, but the block was kept spotlessly clean & show no sign of wear & tear at all. The three showers in the gents are free & hot & there was never a queue for them. I have it good authority that the the ladies toilets showers were the same.

A gentleman comes round each morning on a mini tractor to take away your rubbish. The small shop is stocked with most of the items you probably tend to forget but there is a Morrisons superstore a short walk away & Buxton isnt much further down the road.

There is a regular visitor to site each day bringing hot food, sandwiches etc. A games room with a pool table, jigsaws etc to keep the kids happy if it is raining & a small laundry area for those wet clothes.

This is a great base for exploring the Peak District. Mam Tor, Blue John Mines & Kinder Scout arent too far away. Bakewell is a delightful village & well worth a visit. Buxton itself looks a little tired but there are some good shops & excellent restaraunts.

If you are undecided about where to go to eat ask Karen on reception, not only is she a goldmine of information on the local area but she was also good enough to ring up & book tables for us & there are a number of takeaways who deliver to site.

All in all this is an excellent site, kept beautifully clean, with excellent facilities & the staff really couldn't be more helpful. We are really looking forward to visiting this site again soon. Thanks for a lovely enjoyable stay.

Lime Tree is a lovely place to stay. The staff gave us the friendliest of welcomes. It was our maiden voyage in our Motorhome and they made it so easy for us. They directed us to one of their many level hard standing areas and recommended which pitch to choose.

The site is beside a county road, but very peaceful and so close to Buxton with all it’s shops and amenities.

The toilet block was spotless and grounds well kept. There are 2 dog walks, a large one at the top of the site and a smaller one by a stream, so Jodie the collie was delighted.

All in all one of the nicest weekends we have spent away. Top marks!

Had a lovely weekend here (apart from the weather on the last day). The site is clean and well thought out. We were lucky enough to get a pitch on the terraces, so had a bit of privacy too.

The shop, toilets, showers and washing up areas are all first class. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Buxton was a lovely town, we walked for miles. Would definitely recommend this site if you like peace and quiet, and nothing too commercial.

We had 3 nights here to kick off our camping season last year. The site is clean, friendly with good facilities.

The pitches are a good size and not too near each other. The play area is OK although a bit of a walk from the tent area.

Buxton is lovely with plenty of shops and a brilliant park. There are also lots of attractions in the surrounding areas. We live quite near and would visit here again for a quick get away.

Arrived completely stressed out after a horrendous 5 hour journey, to lovely owners who took about 5 mins to bring us back down to earth! They provided us with takeaway menu's and recommendations (which turned out to be very worthwhile, even delivered to us at 11pm when we'd finally sorted ourselves out!) as well as talking us through where things were. The toilet blocks are right next to reception, which isn't a problem as the site isn't massive, so not a hugely inconvenient walk. Washing up facilities are behind the block, and the childrens play area is next to them, so at least you can keep an eye on your kids if you need to when busy. There is a small shop that stocks basic items. Useful certainly, but if you need more Morrisons supermarket is about 3mins walk from the site.

The toilet block would benefit from being cleaned a bit more often. Now this is a two-way thing, and campers need to make the effort with their environment too. It wasn't dirty, just lots of loo paper all over the floor and a bit messy. The hand-dryer is pretty wimpish too, not much use if there are several people waiting. The site itself has some very pretty pitches amongst the trees on terraces, the 'back-up' being a sloped field. Because of the time we arrived we ended up at the bottom of this field where we were on quite a steep bit of the slope. This was OK for a couple of nights, but sleeping at such an angle isn't easy so we'd have looked to move if we were there longer. Excellent views though, even the cows in the next field kept popping their heads over the wall! There is a road next to the site but its not overly used, so no noise issues. Other campers seemed friendly enough, and lots of children played together, making their own entertainment. Noise reduction is asked for after (I think) 11pm, and everyone stuck to this, only heard the snorer's after that :0)

Fields can be used to walk dogs, but obviously on a lead if the cows are out. Also a 2 minute walk out of the site brings you to a walking area near the viaduct which again is pretty peaceful. We didn't get out and about much as we were only there for 2 nights, but managed to go to Pooles Cavern and walk in the woodland there, and up to Solomans Temple. Great place to go, but not easy for those who have mobility issues.

Would certainly go back, and recommend to others and would like to get to see more of places like Buxton.
