Visited this site for 1 night to explore the Goyt Valley. The site is ideally situated with Buxton town centre a walk away and the local Morrisons just down the road!
The facilities are excellent and the kids enjoyed a quick visit to the games room. The toilet blocks were extremely well looked after due to the need for a code to enter, this also helped as children couldn't reach so needed to be accompanied all the time.
We managed to set up camp on the edge of the playground, as the site was quiet we could let the kids have free run of the park and still be able to chill on the chair outside the tent keeping a good eye on them!
Will visit this site again but for longer next time!

First Visit to Lime Tree Park and I couldn't find a negative if I tried. Okay, the Goats in the surrounding fields made a bit of noise in the evening but if that is too much for you then maybe camping isn't the best idea?
Surrounding area is beautiful with Pooles Cavern, the country park, pavilion gardens and the live all within 5 minutes drive and a good shopping precinct with a high street within 5 minutes walk.
The staff were incredibly helpful, organised our pitch to help with a need we had and were friendly from arrival to leaving. The grass even got an extra trim just before we arrived.
Toilet block was perfect, family wet room handy for us and the washing up area a bonus. The little park and shop on site were good enough and the whole site was family friendly. My 2 year old daughter liked the sheep, cows and goats.
Definite visit again from us, we normally camp at Hope Valley but its close enough for us to use here again.

Visited site for five nights in good weather. We were a party of four adults, three children and a dog. Really happy with the layout of the site and the facilities.
We were pitched in the main field so it was a hundred metre walk to the toilet block but no great problem.
The doors to the toilets/showers had a combination lock on them which was good as it stops kids playing in there but no so good for kids who can't reach the lock to let themselves in and then need to be escorted!
The staff were very friendly and helpful and keep the site immaculate. The dog walking area was very good but a little distance from where we were pitched although that just meant the dog got a better walk!
The site was well located near to the town centre and right near a supermarket.
Some of the local takeaways do delivery to the site and there was a chip van that turned up one night although we didn't use - if the queue for it was anything to go by it can't be too bad!
Would highly recommend this site!

We camped for a Saturday night at Lime Tree Park, principally to test out a new new tent, and had never been to this site. We were not disappointed.
Since it was not busy, the owners had put all-comers into the top site opposite the toilet block, which is principally a caravan part of the site. We were a little disappointed, as the elevated camping field at the other end of the site had the better views, if not the toilets. As stated. Its a long way to the toilets from here. New toilets needed. Still, where we were was much closer to the main entrance, so its swings and roundabouts.
The prices are clearly shown in their website, which seem about on-par for a decent site with good facilities in a good location.
The site and its facilities were first class, with the toilet block to a very high standard. Small shop next to reception, and a small TV/games room there too. A good touch, but only open to 8pm, if I remember correctly, so no good if you want to watch Match of the Day.
The location is very good, and is 1 mile dead from the centre of Buxton, on its south side and very close to the hospital, so its easily walkable. Thats left out of the site: right will also take you to Buxton, but to the very far other end of it, and to Morrisons, and further on Wetherspoons if that's what you want.
Turning left and along, and right at the main Ashbourne to Buxton road, is the better route, and nearer I believe. There is a bus route there, too. The nearest pubs this way are the Blazing Rag, and The Robin Hood. The former looks like a 'proper' boozer.
Carry on walking and you come to central Buxton/the market place (now car park). Its this area which is the night-life centre (further on and down the hill is the main pedestrianised and extensive shopping centre).
Pubs and restaurants aplenty, in (I believe) the highest town in England. The Kings Head is superb, with very good real ale and food, and The Swan is also a gem. The Sun Inn is very olde worlde, unspoilt and pricey. But worth it. Further on, The Clubhouse (by the Opera House) is excellent too.
We would go back to this site, despite the quite shocking weather we got. Rain and cold. More like January weather.
As a comparison, we have been a few times to Cold Springs Farm campsite on the north side of Buxton. Short and sweet: Lime Tree is more expensive but better facilities and far more orientated to caravans.
It also has a bus route where buses actually exist. Some may prefer the location here, too. Cold Springs is cheaper, but its main difference is its stunning views of the Goyt Valley and more rural location
Its a mile from Buxton, and the nearest pub (The Clubhouse: very good) whereas Lime Tree is a mile from Buxton, so no difference, but its only half a mile from the nearest pub (The Robin Hood, and The Blazing Rag: some will like, some won't).
Both are good, so visit both!

We had a 3 night stay over the weekend. Electric hook up, so in the field up the hill. Very well kept grounds field/, they were mowed almost every day.
Staff very friendly and helpful when asked where to go and what to see. Toilets were kept very clean, but not sure what to make of the piped music (radio peak I think). However, the showers were very disappointing! Just a trickle of water, not a power shower in sight.
The best thing about camping is getting a hot shower to warm you up after a cold night under canvas. These really need to be improved to keep up with the rest of the facilities.
Apart from that, a very nice experience.

We rang up the site 2 hours before we arived, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Gave us maps of walks and lists of various take aways and pubs to eat in.
The site is lovely, peaceful, clean and well equipped. The shop is well stocked and there is a small games room /tv room. The toilets are very clean with piped music. They are cleaned regularly and the bins etc emptied on a regular basis.
The pot wash is very well maintained with plenty of hot water, I went midweek and stayed for 2 nights and it was very quiet.
Plenty of lovely walks in the area. Dogs are very welcome and they provide details of various dog walks. I would camp at this site over and over again, highly recommended

We stayed at Lime Tree Park over bank holiday weekend. It's true. The park has beautiful views, very friendly staff.
This is only the second time I have ever camped and I found the distance of the facilities to the camping field annoying! I don't have children, but I wouldn't feel comfortable allowing them to walk to the toilets on their own because of the distance and size of the actual site.
Toilets are accessed by a security code. I can understand why they have done this. But doesn't allow children to access without an adult.Site facilities are good, very clean etc. But too far away from the main camping field.
When we stayed the weather was a real mixed bag. Heavy rain and strong winds and bright sunshine. The site is quite noisy. You can hear the railway, overhead aeroplanes and cars from the road.
I have only stayed at one other campsite, and I really liked the allocated pitches. This would have helped us when we arrived. We didn't really know where to go.
Overall we had a nice time. But too many niggly little things.

Spent a week here peak season and still found it to be a relaxing and peaceful site. The views where we were pitched were lovely, with the viaduct creating an imposing yet beautiful setting.
Staff were all very helpful.Helped us to pitch our van, with a little humour about only ever losing one van to date over the steep drop!.We assumed he was joking!
Site set out with statics in the centre, tourers and seasonals to one end near the viaduct, and tents on terraces at the other end. Wardens always on site. Note steep climb to touring pitches, but manageable.
Toilets were always clean. Two blocks, one at each end of site. Each with 3 showers in ladies & mens, couple of basin cubicles also. Our only gripe was that although the temperature of the showers was lovely. They weren't very powerful at all. Piped music from local radio was good, complete with weather updates!
Two wash-up sinks at each end of site, with plenty of hot water. Please site owners put a couple of shelves up though so we have somewhere to put dirty / clean utensils.
Small shop.Well equipped. Local Morrisons just down the road was very convenient too.
Games room has pool table, TV etc.Small but adequate.
Overall we loved this site, found it to be a great location for visiting the Peak District & a beautiful setting. You wouldn't know you were on the outskirts of Buxton. Would recommend and revisit if returning to the area.

Stayed here with wife and our two young children. Very friendly staff. Good access into Buxton, which took about twenty minutes with a three year old!
Buxton pavilion gardens great for kids with pizza express close by! Site facilities clean in mens shower block. Be careful of access, as a little tight in places on approaching road, but we managed it on our first trip!
Don't get a pitch in the arches. It's right next to the main road and doesn't have the benefit of nice views like the higher pitches! Would definitely go back.

This is a lovely site nestling in a pretty valley that has about 3 separate bits. I can see why it has such a good reputation. The EHU area is at one end of the site, on a hill top, with its own facilities. At the bottom of the (short but steep) hill is the motor home area by the road. Behind reception is the non electric camping with terraces, a play area and a large camping field beyond. In the valley middle is a static caravan area
We stayed on the terraced part of the non electric area and arrived mid week to a fairly empty site. The weather was dreadful with gales and heavy rain, but I don’t think it spoiled our trip. Although the valley runs east-west, shelter was easily found unless you were in the middle of the camp field
The good bits:
The staff were lovely. Friendly, helpful and full of good ideas for eating or trips out
Showers were great. Clean, with adjustable temperatures, space for family showers, multiple hooks, stools and a handy mop people seemed to be using. Pot wash area was good and well equipped, but had only 2 sinks, with queues at busy times
The terraced camping bit has a lovely feel to it, with trees around and little cul-de-sacs if you want some privacy. With quite a bit of variety in pitches you could pick the spot that suited you best. Some can slope a little though
Play area was fine for our 5yo and 3yo. The swings (all different heights so even little ones can get on). A see-saw and slide and a wobbly bridge that was used for endless games. Older kids would maybe find it limiting but then the games room offers TV/DVD player, pool table and enough room to play/colour/read etc in really bad weather
Shop with all the basics you might need (Morrisons is only 2 mins by car, quite walkable) plus charity book/card sales
Mostly very quiet after 10, certainly on the
Terraces. I think the warden is on site in one of the statics but not certain
Location was good, not far too walk into Buxton and a few nice walks right off the site. Some potential for kite flying behind the camp field also
Nearby are plenty of places to eat – top marks for quality to the Royal Oak just off the A515 10 minutes from the site
The bits that didn’t work for us:
I am a light sleeper and noticed some traffic noise from the road and aircraft noise too, had a few inbound long haul flights coming into Manchester early each morning – good to watch with binoculars though
The loos had coded doors but the code was written on the door – no idea why, but it prevented our 5yo from going to the loo on her own, which she found frustrating
The slope of the site made cycling unsafe for small ones, there was some potential around the statics bit most kids didn’t have their bikes with them anyhow. Probably wouldn’t take bikes if we were there again, until the kids are old enough to go off sit with them
The road up is quite steep and we saw a few cars struggle, especially if they decided to try and turn around! Not helped by sleeping policemen, one poor driver had the spare wheel torn off from under the car by the top one
Maybe it was just us or just unlucky:
Couple of incidents of feral children. Bunch of lads marching through the pitch (under the front guy ropes of the tent waving plastic guns and shouting) and one incident of lad throwing the bricks (left for BBQs) down the slope onto the road in front of his parents, who said nothing!
One dog off the lead in our tent and (later the same day) dog poo in the play area. A couple staying for one night in a 2 man tent talking loudly until well after 4am (I think it was a domestic)
