We spent four nights at this site , which was chosen by using this website. It is the nicest site we have ever stayed at.We would have liked to use the camping terraces but they were temporarily out of action after heavy rain the previous week , so we were on the big field at the top.Despite the fact that we arrived on bank holiday Monday, there was loads of room and we had a lovely ( if rather windy) pitch.
There was loads of space and the site is beautifully maintained. The facilities are simple and spotlessly clean. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The playground is small but kept our youngest two entertained (ages 4 and 8).
There is a lot to do in the area and plenty of helpful information is available onsite.Buxton is a lovely town with a supermarket and very nice pub (The Wye Bridge House)within a couple of minutes drive serving very good breakfasts.
The heights of Abraham is absolutely fantastic and everyone should go there. There are some excellent caves, castles and stately homes within a very short drive, and just about the best bookshop ever at Brierlow bar , about 5 mins drive.
Although it didn't concern us there are steep slopes on this site so be warned if you are a bit wobbly. Also one of the cattle in the neighbouring field kept jumping over the fence for a feed.I guess the grass is always greener! It was no trouble though and the kids liked to see it hurdle back again.Don't let this put you off as it is probably in some burgers by now. This is the definitive touring site,we will definitely be going back.

Went to the site after reading the reviews, and we weren't disappointed!
The site itself is in a wonderful location, one of the best views from a campsite we have seen. This is even though it's right next to Buxton. We didn't have a good look around the town, but it looks like a nice place.Especially the park.
The site has a small shop, but as there is a Morrisons and a 24 hour Tesco Express within a mile or so it only has the basics.
We tried to pitch our tent on the top field, but the wind defeated us, so pitched on one of the terraces which each hold 2 or 3 tents.
The toilet/shower block for the tent side of the park is very clean and well kept, but if the park is busy it's a little small, so you may need to get up early to shower or leave it till a bit later. The same is true if you want to wash up.
All in all it's a friendly clean site with stunning views, but close by town facilities. It's pretty cheap compared with some sites too, plus it doesn't hike the price if it's a bank holiday weekend :)
Well worth a visit!

Had two night stay at Lime Tree Park. We were placed on the 'late arrivals' pitch, due to late booking, but it was OK - although did feel as though we were in the car park. Showers/toilets a very short walk up hill, which were very clean and showers very hot. Only one wash up point, which was frustrating for my son who had to queue (and as you can appreciate its hard enough to get kids to do anything nowadays!). Thats the only thing I can complain about. Great site, quiet, lovely views, and would recommend it. Kids thought games room was very basic, but we enjoyed a couple of games of pool and played for over one hour on the trivia quiz machine (seems our £1.00 gave us 30 credits!)

Second visit to this site with my son - stayed longer this time as he enjoyed it so much over one weekend! Very helpful and friendly staff, especially lady in reception. Even had a local butcher who came on site each evening selling BBQ products! Very clean site, showers always hot and toilet block clean. Good to be able to pitch your tent anywhere - field on slight slope, so try and get early for a more private pitch. Plenty to do in the area and main supermarket one minutes away. Would recommend to anyone who wants a good base for a short break or holiday - will be back in September!

Like the previous review we stayed during a particular wet spell. That said it did not spoil a nice week. We found the site alright (2 adults 2 young children)
The showers were fine and the staff were very friendly. It was quiet when we were there and therefore not a lot of kids mixing on the field. (One of those things)
Go Ape is 5 minutes away and looked fab. (10yrs and over). We visited the local Poole's cave, it was very interesting and the walks through the adjacent wood up to Solomon's Temple were lovely. My 4 year old managed it no problem!

A really nice neat and tidy site, the welcome couldn't have been better. The staff are very helpful and gave lots of 'good' advice on places to see and things to do.
Although it rained very heavily whilst we were there and before our arrival, we still enjoyed our stay (2 adults and 2 children 6 and 9)
The toilets were quite good, (as good as you can expect on a campsite where loads of people are trailing mud into them, mops and bucket supplied by the site to have a quick clean up around the showers once you have done), but cleaned every day and no problems. Good supply of hot water (free) to the showers.
Two sets of toilet blocks, one set near the Electrical hook up sites (EHU) side of the site and the other above the reception area.
The toilets are never more than a few (2-3) minutes walk from anywhere on the site
Lots of little tree/bushes surrounded terraces for camping, if you want privacy or a bigger open field on the edge of the site.
Benefits in some ways being near to Buxton, large supermarket is 10-15 minutes walk away (by road, right out of the camp site and keep walking), Buxton town center etc. However bit of a down side is seemed to be quite heavy traffic noise, from road next to the site, early morning, freight train track runs nearby and flight path to Manchester airport. None of the above noise issues is a real problem, but if you want total peace then look for a camp site further away from a town.
The kids loved it, and although there were only a few swings, slide, climbing frame and see saw the kids were happy to play their.
I liked the fact that gravel road ways had been laid up to the EHU sites and think the site would benefit from similar road ways on the main field, we tried to get to the top of the main field in our car and soon gave up not wishing to destroy the field or get stuck, although a few had made it up to the top.
The main field does have a bit of a slope on it.
Very little noise after 9-10 pm with people generally respecting the request to keep noise down after 9pm.
Seemed to be very much a family type site when we were there.
We would go back again, as although it was very wet, we still had a good time. The site is very central to great areas to discover (Tissington trail, Dovedale, Bakewell etc)

We decided to pick Lime Tree Park for our first camping trip, mostly due to the great reviews on this site. We had a great time at the site and found the staff to be very helpful. The facilities were great and were always clean and tidy. There is only 2 washing up sinks so it can get a little busy.
We were pitched on one of the terraces next to the camping field which gave us more privacy. You get to choose your own pitch so turn up early as it can get very busy at a weekend. Be warned that the camping field is at the top of a hill and all of the facilities are towards the bottom of the hill, so the walk back up will keep you fit.
All in all we couldn't have had a better first camping trip and as such we can't wait to go camping again.

Visited this site last weekend, it was our very first camping trip (myself and my husband and 2 kids).
It rained nearly all the time but we had the most wonderful time. The couple that run it were helpful, warm and friendly. We paid an extra £5 to stay until 6pm on the Sunday instead of leaving by 12 because it finally stopped raining.
The toilets and showers were lovely and clean. But quite a walk from the tent field.
The washing up area was adequate. Kids play area was nice.
It is a lovely site, very clean and tidy. We were told to pitch anywhere we liked - the terrace was full - we arrived late. When we visit again I would love to be on the terrace- it was lovely and a little bit sheltered and private. We were on the main field which was absolutely fine - bit of a slope which caused a few minor problems with the cooker etc and slipping down the air bed!
We would definitely go again. Lots of lovely walks - my daughter loved the sheep! Felt the children were very safe when wandering away from the tent.

Just returned. Glad to be home.
Lovely location, fantastic views, within easy reach of the town and shops for supplies.
All the staff were friendly and helpful.
The weather had been really hot the week before we went but yet the main camp field was very wet,it did not seem to drain very well. All the pitches on the top field are sloping and we found it difficult to pitch the tent level.
The toilets and showers were dirty, the walk back from the toilets was a bit much.
The ten o'clock quite time was good, but it meant that the camp site was noisy at about 7 in the morning!
The butcher that visits the site in his van between four and five does some fantastic bbq meat well worth it!
All in all it is not a camp site we would return to or recommend.

Fantastic staff at this site, the lady at reception was wonderful.
The site was extremely well kept, toilets clean despite the weather being awful and the site muddy in places. Flowers and music in the loos was a nice touch BUT getting into the loos was a nightmare and there were quite a few ladies who struggled to get in - the door needed quite a push, all I can say is never leave it till last minute.
The pitch we had was up quite a steap hill and with wet weather we wheel spun towing a folding camper with a big car so no idea how some of the caravans got up there - the field we were in was very windy but I suspect beautiful on a nice day.
The pitch unfortunately sloped both ways and falling off of a chair was quite easy and even easier after a glass or two of wine, I think we just got the worst picth though and every one else's looked great.
Park was quite a long way away and so we couldn't let our kids go on their own - the site did feel lovely and safe though - it would have been nice to have been able to pitch where we could see the park but not possible.
We had no issues with planes, just an helicopter in the middle of the night, the trains weren't an issue nor were the sheep who seemed to be upset with the awful weather - all external to the site so no moans there.
Was close to Buxton and local supermarkets - always a positive.
So, lots of positives for this site BUT for some reason, not one that we would visit again - it was in beautiful surroundings but just lacked something in atmosphere and there were hardly any children near where we were and so it felt quite isolated really - more for older couples with no children - actually I would probably go back when we are retired and the kids are left home, that said, probably not cause the loos were so hard to get into ( Honest it wasn't just me).
