Returned at the same time as last year (see my previous review) and was just as good as we remembered, so not much to add!

One thing which stood out was that we returned from a day out at about 9:30pm and realised we had no milk for tea.And my wife 'chain-drinks' it. I spoke to the warden who was wandering about if the shop was open, but it was closed, so I mentioned I'd have to pop out and get some. 'I'll get the keys for the shop' she said and got us a bottle and told us to settle in the morning. Customer service or what!? :)

The other thing is if it rains and you park on a slope it's very hard to get a car out (which is why we were careful with parking). Helping the next door pitch out, as we were packing up, I slipped and fractured my shoulder :(

*A warning* Don't push a car, get the warden with his 4x4 or tractor to help!

We were lucky enough to be put on the higher level near the toilet block - bit of a hike up the hill if you weren't, however everything immaculately clean, water pressure not too good, but the vanity cubicles were brilliant.

As previously noted within walking distance of Buxton but there is also a bus stop up by the hospital.Buses from the market square take you all round the peak district.

Just back from a 5 night stay at this site and we were very happy with it. We had a non-EHU pitch and were able to get a really nice pitch at the end of one of the terraces with some shade from the trees. We played on the main camping field and it did look a bit exposed, with a long walk downhill (and back uphill) to the toilet block, so would recommend the terraces before the main camping field.

Toilets were clean, ladies had 4 cubicles and 3 showers, one of which had a large changing area and an adjustable/removable shower head, which was ideal for showering 2 kids at once and having plenty space to get them dried after. This family cubicle also had a separate sink, but cold tap was not working, so kids couldn't clean teeth whilst waiting on shower. Mop and bucket being left out was nice as it meant people taking effort to clean up a bit after themselves, leaving shower floor areas relatively clean during a very rainy and muddy week! Nice soft pitch meant it was easy to pitch tent, although it was more sloped than it initially appeared. Play area small but kept our kids more than happy. Torches essential at night, and be aware of the steep ish climb from the toilet block to camping terraces.

Wardens extremely helpful and friendly, and based on site in case of emergencies. Whole site kept clean at all times.

Value for money excellent, and ideally located for various attractions. Was a bit concerned about proximity to Alton Towers, which we visited, but camp site did not seem to attract groups of teenagers heading to the theme park, it was definitely very family orientated and our 5 children aged 5 -10 made lots of new friends.

Will return!

Weve got a 10 + 7 year old and wanted a quiet, well maintained, staff friendly, campsite in the peak district with clean toilets and hot showers. And got exactly that with lime tree park.

We made our own entertainment i.E. Kite flying , rounders ,hide and seek etc.

The kids occasionally ventured down to the park, which,if your pitched as far as is allowed is only a 3 minutes walk from your tent,to mix with other well behaved kids.

We found the Morrisons useful - 1-2 minute drive away.

We have visited Greenhills , Bainland in Woodhall Spa etc and this is just as nice

We visited this park over the last weekend in June.

When we booked in we were shown to our pitch by the wardens who were very helpful and cheerful. They were also helpful with advice about local amenities.

The pitches are well spaced apart and the electric points are 10amp. We were on the top field which was very nice, the only fault I did have was we were on the side nearest the road which during rush hour you could hear the traffic. Although it isn’t very noisy it could still be heard (My husband hates the noise of traffic) but the surrounding views were pretty and we didn’t let it bother us.

We found this park very good and if were in the Buxton area would book again. It was a very busy warm weekend and we had to sleep with all our van windows open but it was a peaceful site and there was no excessive noise in the late evening and we could only hear the sheep.

The toilet facilities were good with a baby changing room, family room and disabled facilities even though the site was busy they were still kept clean.

There is a non-hook-up area on the other side on the site which was also extremely busy with tents and there are also more toilet facilities on that side. Also on this side there is a children’s play area.

There is a shop on site but if they don’t stock the items you want there is a Morrison’s down the road.It is about 10 minutes walk away and a further 15-20 minutes walking will get you to Buxton centre

We arrived 28th May for two nights and due to it being half term the site was quite busy on arrival, fortunately we arrived at lunchtime and was able to take up a plot on a terrace above the play area but far enough away so as not to be disturbed by the playing children.

Within a couple of hours the main camp area, a field furthest from the facilities that had been used for tent pitches and games area and seemed to attract groups of families/friends had become quite full which resulted in people driving round in an effort to find a suitable pitch. Most of the site is sloping with the main field more so and open to the elements.

The toilets/showers were clean and adequate and the no noise after 10pm policy was enforced by the wardens who patrolled the site. We had an enjoyable stay at this well located site with a Morrisons supermarket down the road and many attractions nearby.

Lovely welcoming owners - showed us to our site and where all amenities were. Great pitch on top field, with electric.

Beautiful views. Clean shower and toilet blocks.

Children's playpark was a bit small but adequate.

Within easy walking distance of Buxton and Morrison's just down the road. We had a take away delivered one night.

Great reasonably priced site and would definitely visit again.

Just got back from a long weekend at The Lime tree. First time we have stayed there and have been very impressed.

The site always looked neat & tidy. We was up on the top touring field which had amazing views across the country & the viaduct. The showers & toilets are immaculate, hot water even at busy times! The Washing up facility is spotless to and even has draining racks!

Our pitch was bigger then other pitches we have had on different sites which was great for us all as we had plenty of outside space still with our tent & two cars!

The staff were very friendly especially Karen & Mark who are so nice & couldn't do enough to help with any questions / query's about the surrounding areas & walks.

There's a well stocked shop along with bargain books to buy for charity, A games room with a tv, Launderette & ironing facility & Dog walk.

In reception is lots of useful information leaflets on surrounding areas, walking maps & take away menus.

Will definitely return & recommend the site to everyone.

Just returned from a weekend at Limetree park. What can I say? This site is lovely and the area is great.

Nice location with very friendly and helpful staff. They show you to your pitch.

Lovely views from the top field - WOW

Nice shower blocks and very clean

Excellent family room for showers - great for families.

Butcher came onsite to deliver meat for your BBQ - what a great idea?

Local Indian will deliver to the site and even the Chippy will deliver!

Small shop that stocks basic provisions

Games room to keep the kids happy on a wet day.

Negatives:-

I agree with the previous review that the kids play area could do with a re-vamp, and the location is fine if you are in a tent on the non electric pitches, but a bit too far away if you are at the top of the hill, especially as our children are only 4 & 5. They could do with a small play area on the top touring field, this would make it perfect. I cannot think of any other negatives and we will definitely be visiting this site again its very close to perfect!

It is within walking distance of Buxton which has a lovely park and great Weatherspoons pub right next to the park, there is also a Morrisons close by and Tesco Express. Buxton itself is a nice little town and there's loads to do in this area, its very pretty and ideal for a weekend away.

This site deserves its previous awards as a top class site and they have a great team of staff who are the friendliest we have come across in our 3yrs of touring.

We spent the bank holiday weekend here with a large group of friends with small children. The toilets and showers were really clean. Even though the first day it rained all day they were constantly being cleaned and always well stocked. The dish washing sinks were good with really hot water. The only problem was there are only 2, so at bust times there was a bit of a wait for them.

The field was very boggy due to rain, so we camped on the terraces, which are very nice and offer some privacy with the trees surrounding them.

The staff were great, really friendly and helpful.

The children's play area is not great for smaller children. Could definitely do with some baby swings. But kept my 4 yr old amused.

Buxton is beautiful, especially the park. Lots of pubs, restaurants, shops etc. We had chinese take away one night and they delivered to the tent.Great! you can walk to tescos or morrisons.Very handy.

We arrived early afternoon on the friday and glad we did as the terraces were filling up and the field was too boggy, although people did seem to manaage on there ok.

Overall it was a good weekend on a clean, friendly, family site.
