May 2005 The staff here were friendly and new a lot about the local area. The site itself was lovely. Only a short distance from Buxton but surrounded by craggy fields and open countryside. The toliets were spotless even after 2 days of rain when we stayed there! There is a great family shower room with heating. Nice playground for the children. The electric field I imagine could get a little cramped if they were full. All in all a great site, good location and clean excellent facilites.

August 2004 We booked into this site at very short notice and they were able to accommodate our needs. We stayed on the upper terrace of this site in a large frame tent with electric hookup. The facilities on site were adequate for our needs (shop on site, morning paper) and other amenities (supoermarket, garage, Pub) are within walking/cycling distance. The goods train was hardly noticeable. The site has excellent drainage, we survived a series of thunderstorms with no problems.

July 2004 Well on arrival we were very impressed, It was a very pretty site and very well looked after.
We arrived early and were allowed to pitch as soon as we got there, it was nice that we got to pick our own pitch and what a fabulous one we got!!!!
The toilets and showers were kept very clean, the park was lovely for the children and the location was lovely.
Altogether a lovely 4 days on a very scenic site.

July 2004 Booked site 2 days before we arrived. Made very welcome on arrival. Could not pitch tent on terrace as was full (looked a bit cramped). The field was good, but was on a bit of a slope (made sleeping interesting as we had pitched the tent the wrong way round so we rolled down the hill!!
Very clean site, toilets with door code. We saw planes but noise was never a problem, I only heard one goods train late at night. Site looked to be very family friendly
Would definatly vist again. Tent pitch £12 per night.

June 2004 This was our 1st visit to this site, and will probably not be our last.. We visit with a tent (non electrics). The Toilet block at the back of the reception area was clean, the shop has basics items in -Milk, Bread, Sweets and a few camping accessories.

May/June 2004 Just returned from 3 nights at Lime Tree, over Bank Holiday weekend. We booked well in advance to ensure a pitch with electric for a large tent. The electric field was lovely with a very clean, modern shower and toilet block. Hot water for showers and washing up was free, as was the electric hairdryers. There was a very slight slope on our pitch, but I did notice the other tent field without electrics was a fairly steep slope. The site is excellently situated for exploring Buxton and the surrounding areas. Safeway is only 5 minutes drive away or you can walk if you're feeling energetic. The shop was expensive and if you want a morning paper be sure to order one the previous day!! Although the site was full, we had plenty of room, and the toilet/shower facilities never felt crowded. We will definitely visit this site again, but will be sure to reserve a pitch.

May 2003 The reviews above give a fair reflection of this site. The only thing I would add is a word of warning if you are staying on the 'late arrivals' piches. These are next to the road and security is poor because it's bounded by just a low stone wall. Our next door neighbours left their barbecue out overnight - and - you've guessed it - it was gone next morning.

August 2003 I would agree that the site is very nicely laid out and maintained and the toilets, showers etc. are really clean. There was also a good dog walk.
We felt that the field was very cramped and the pitches far too close together. The tent field on the other side looked much nicer but didn't appear to have any hook-ups. The area where the static vans are was very attractive and colourful.
The shop was very small and not very well stocked - and extremely expensive.
We were on the field with the hook-ups, which is closer to the viaduct and the trains ran along there until early evening and on the morning we left they started at about 7.30 - they were goods trains, I think from a quarry, and quite noisy.
All in all it's not at the top of our "must go again" list - and it was also qite expensive at £15.20 a night including hook-up and £1 for the dog.

August 2003 We had a great visit to the site- showers etc all very impressive. Didn't notice any noise from cars, and not enough from planes or trains to be a bother.
Camping and caravan areas are completely seperate, the camping area was very nice with terraces winding up the hill and lots of trees. We had no problem finding a pitch on the terraced area but even this was on a very slight slope, as indeed most of the pitches appeared to be. Was particularly impressed by all the picnic benches around the pitches- particularly useful as there was no room in our car for table and chairs!
Staff were very friendly too.

may 2003 I would say the same as every one else, good clean toilets and showers, very friendly staff,an all round good site, except if in a tent stay away from the field. We were told it was a slight incline,if i told you the wife and i kept slipping down all night and our 5 and 3 year olds ended up in little balls at the bottom of the tent by the morning you get a rough idea.we would go again but we would check in advance about vacancies
