We visited over Whitsun (2 adults, 1 child). Although we are campers we treated ourselves to a static caravan on this occasion. In hindsight this was a good choice as the weather was indifferent.
The site is in a nice location just on the outskirts of Buxton (we walked into the centre in 10-15mins).
The main camping field at the top end of the site is on a slope but not excessive, and there are some flatter, more secluded pitches on the way up to the main field.
At the other end of the site is the touring/camping EHU field which looked very nice and is flatter than the main camping field. When we come back with the tent we will definitely opt for this field. The toilet blocks are to a good standard, and the shop on site is well stocked with basic essentials. There is also a games / play room and launderette all in the same block, and the children's play area is located just behind/above this.
The owners/staff were all very friendly and helpful and contributed to a very enjoyable stay.
I definitely recommend this site and we will be returning with the tent shortly (fingers crossed for better weather)

Very pictureque site, had a nice hardstanding pitch overlooking the viaduct, though noticed a lot of seasonal pitches nearby so imagine would be fully booked during peak times. Toilet block very clean and had no problems with the showers. This is an excellent site for walking, two public footpaths run through the site, Buxton can be walked to in about 20 mins. And Morrisons can be walked to in 10 mins. Using the public footpath opposite the site entrance otherwise not a lot to do locally, there is a nice Wetherspoons pub about half a mile after the Morrisons supermarket. The nearest bus stop is about 15 min. Walk away going afar as Manchester and Sheffield every hour. Paid £22/night for two with ehu.

Stayed here Monday to Friday in glorious weather 2 adults then a couple of relatives decided to join us which was no problem for the staff. The views from our pitch were outstanding. The staff are very friendly, all stopping to have a word with us. The facilities were clean and checked regularly.
Our pitch seemed to be in an adults only area as there is a play area at the back of reception
Had a walk into Buxton, stayed there too long and had to walk back in the dark which I advised anyone to take a torch with them as there is no street lighting.
We will definitely be revisiting the site at some time.

Visited this site again last weekend, fourth year in a row and our seventh visit, group of eight people, two tents.
Absolutely love the place, the wardens are so friendly and accommodating, nothing is to much trouble. We have asked for the same pitches on numerous occasions and they go out of their way to make sure we get them.
The facilities are spotless and checked at various times of the day. Three showers, always very hot and have never had to queue for a shower. Fresh flowers in the wash rooms a lovely touch.
Four children between the two groups that go and the kids love the place and always ask when we are going again. The wardens always make the children feel welcome.
Would not hesitate to recommend the place to anyone. A must visit site.

Nice site but not family friendly. No ball games, no dogs off leads, no climbing etc. I as much as anyone don't like my car being used as a goalpost but camping is a family event.
Showers are clean and well presented but very cold (heating) and low flow from showers.
Buxton is lovely not too far to walk and plenty to see.
This site is fine if this is what you want.

We visited Lime Tree Park for 2 nights at the beginning of April and on the second night encountered very heavy snow in the early hours, which meant that we were stranded and not able to leave the site. The Wardens at the site couldn't have been more helpful and allowed us to stay until the next day and we were able to remain warm and comfortable until then. They worked really hard to ensure that the site was cleared of snow.
Despite our offer, they refused any payment for the extra night, which I am not sure would have been the case on other sites.
We will definitely be returning again, as the site is so handy for walking into Buxton and the facilities are spotless.

We visited Lime Tree Park for the third time as a large group - we had intended to visit North Wales but the weather forecast did not look favourable for a stream-side pitch (boggy ground etc) and so it was a last minute booking.
We managed to get a lovely flat pitch which isn't always easy here when the site is busy - the main camping field is on quite a severe slope.
The site itself is great for large family groups and the 2 dogs we had in the party - lots of open space, the kids love the play area and the facilities are always clean and adequate - although I don't like the fact that there are locks on the toilets as it means someone always have to take the shorter kids as they can't reach the keypad!
I have no doubt we will return again and again - the local area is lovely, a Morrisson's supermarket is only a short drive away and we have had some lovely pub meals in Buxton!

We stayed with a group of friends at Lime Tree Park, unfortunately the weather was typically British the whole time we were there!
Good points:
Clean toilet blocks
Large pitches
Easy access
Morrison's 5 minutes drive away
Bad points:
Town not really in walking distance so you needed to use the car.
Children's play area far away from our section up a steep hill.
Overall a nice site with friendly and helpful staff.

Stayed here for two nights recently. Greeted by a very friendly person at reception, booked in quickly and shown where the shop, toilets/showers, laundry and games room were. Directed to the tent areas and off we went!
Plenty of space available for tents. We managed to find a secluded wee spot before the big main field (which looked a bit sloped for pitching a tent?) and were set up in no time. Sheltered at the back by fir trees, and to the front and sides by other tents.
Kids took off on their bikes to explore and found the small but ample swing-park, which is also a shortcut to the toilet/shower block (which were clean and fresh). The games room had a pool table and board games/colouring books and also a tv where you could watch tv programmes or dvds from the reception. This was also stocked with leaflets of things to do in the surrounding area.
Bonus of this small site is the Morrisons supermarket/petrol station which is situated 2 mins drive down the road. Easily accessible on foot and very handy for the shopping supplies! Also the town of Buxton is a 5min drive away, with shops to cater for all needs.
No entertainment on site but as we were only here for 2 nights this wasn't an issue. The swing park and the fact that the kids had their bikes was more than enough.
Would definitely return here for a short break if in the area again. Very handy for Alton Towers.

A lovely campsite set in a valley near Buxton.
The staff are very welcoming and when you arrive take you to you pitch with recommendations on where to set-up. The site feels smaller than it actually is and was very little noisy when we visited.
The pitches all look to slope slightly but not to be problematic.
There is a very nice shower block that has exceptionally clean facilities and a never ending supply of hot water. There are 3 mens and 3 ladies showers - we never had to wait.
The site is extremely safe for young children. There is a baby change room and a family shower room.
There is a small shop and they supply most types of gas.
The site is within easy walking distance of the town, Morrisons is less than a five minute drive and the Buxton Real Ale Company have their brewery in nearby industrial units.
Highly recommended - will use again.
