Just got back from a weekend at this site. Pitch was great and facilities good. In all the sites I have been to these are some of the best staff I have ever experienced, very helpful, good attitude, one was even mopping the ladies toilets at 10.30 at night because of all the mud ( it was a very rainy night). Would recommend it to any one. Only thing to take account of is a steep hill to toilets and this can be difficult if you have a disability effecting breathing as one of our party has, but to be fair he used the car as paths to the tents is very accesible.

Lime Tree is the closest site to Buxton itself, you can walk to Morrisons within about 15 minutes.
From you book in to you leave the staff can't do enough and are really friendly. You are shown to your pitches which are nearly all on hard standing with the toilet/ shower block 2nd to none. Near reception there is a public phone, games room and laundry room. The only problem I would have with site is there is very little light at night.
Level 2 is the local night club which is open late on Wednesday, Friday & Saturday with many of the other local bars open to midnight or later. All taxis will drop you off at the shower block, we used A Cabs (01298 70423)

Really enjoyed our stay here - the staff could not be any more helpful or nice and they really make you feel welcome.
We stayed over the Easter weekend and saw snow arrive overnight.
Excellent facilities for the dog she really enjoyed running around on the dog walking field.
Definitely well worth a visit!

This is a truly superb site. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The views of the viaduct and countryside are fantastic. The toilet block and showers are immaculate and even have a radio playing.
There is a little play area at the rear of the Reception. The shop is small but adequate. There is a laundry room with a big washer and dryer. The Games room is really nice too.
It is a little too far to walk to the centre of Buxton for a meal/drink so we took the car. Close by there is a Tesco express and a Sainsbury's local with plenty of pubs which are walkable if you are fit.
Altogether a great experience especially as it was our very first time out with our 'vintage' caravan which we have just acquired to see if we like the caravanning life.
And we do!

What a great site!
We had an electric pitch so were in the field shared by tents and caravans with a lovely view over the viaduct. Pitches were spacious & there were wooden picnic benches dotted around for all to use. Nice touch.
Toilet blocks was kept really clean with free hot showers, piped music and fresh flowers. There is a small shop stocking the basics and a small childrens play area which kept our 4 year old happy. The main tent field is made up of several terraced pitches & a larger open field.
Buxton is only a short walk away but with 2 small children we took the easy option & drove in.
We'll be back

Just back from this excellent site.
The warden was extremely helpful in assisting pitching and generally around the site.
The touring field had its own shower/toilet block and water and chemical disposal.
The toilet/shower facilities were good and even play Radio 2!
The Kids playground was near reception and was again great fun for the kids with swings (although not baby swings), slides and a see-saw.
Site has a 10.00pm quiet time and this was impeccably observed (apart from one crying baby)!
The local farmer even allowed us to visit the farm to see the piglets and sheep.
We stayed on site but know that Buxton and the Peaks have a lot to offer tourists and walkers alike.
We would certainly go back and indeed are planning a visit next year.

We were disappointed with our stay at this site. Our pitch was small, squeezed between other pitches and surrounded by parked cars. Though, I have to admit, most of the pitches looked lovely.
The toilet block is dated, dingy and frankly needed a good clean (window sills, floor, skirting boards and so on). One of the ladies toilets was out of action because the seat had fallen off. One of the ladies showers was effectively unusable because the hose to the shower head leaked so much that hardly any water came out the shower.
There is a very small shop on-site and there is a Morrisons within walking distance (about 15 mins). It takes about 20 minutes to walk into Buxton town centre, across the fields - longer if you keep to the roads.
I wouldn't use this site again.

Just returned home from this excellent park and will definitely return. The staff are really friendly and helpful, they even show you to your pitch. We had an electric hook-up pitch, and there are plenty of them. The area we were allocated was very quiet and the views were outstanding, our pitch looked onto the viaduct and the surrounding area. The toilet/shower blocks were of a very high standard and immaculate, liquid soap, hand dryer, fresh flowers in a vase and even music playing quietly in the background via a speaker attached to the wall, the shower cubicles were large enough so as not to get your clothes wet and they had separate cubicles with a hand basin. They also had a family / disabled shower room which was excellent. The site also has a room next to the toilets set aside as a baby changing room, which had everything you would need for changing your baby including toys to keep them amused. There is a children's play area with slides, swings and climbing equipment. The camping field which was non electric was very spacious but some parts of it had a little bit of a slope, but this would not cause any problems. The sited caravans and log cabins are well looked after and all have well tended flowers and shrubs growing around them. There is an on site shop selling the basics but a Morrisons supermarket is only a 5 minute drive from the site. There is a launderette and games room on site next to the reception. This site is ideally situated for the centre of Buxton and surrounding areas of the Peak district. The closest attraction is the 'Go-ape experience' which is amazing (www.Goape.Co.Uk) and Poole's Cavern, both are situated in Buxton Country Park, which is well signposted. There are also walks in the surrounding area. As campers of many years and camped on many sites we can honestly say this has been one of the best so far, so good we decided to write this review, the 1st one ever, cant wait to return as there is so much to do and see in the surrounding areas.

Stopped here for one night in a campervan, and found it to be a lovely, well maintained and very friendly campsite. We stopped in the field at the end, and whilst on a slope, there were other flat pitches available had we wanted one, but the field had a great friendly feel to it. The facilities were above average, very clean and nice free hot water in the showers. There was a little shop below with milk, bacon etc and a pool table. All in all, definitely recommend and we would return.

We have just returned from a weekend at Lime Tree Park and what an excellent campsite we had a wonderful time (apart from the wet weather!) The staff were very friendly and helpful and the security on the site was excellent we felt very safe. The facilities were excellent nice clean toilets and shower block and an excellent family shower room which was very handy with our 1 year old son! There is a supermarket nearby and only a 20 minute lovely scenic and walk you are in Buxton Town Centre. We will definatly be returning here in the near future hopefully with better weather, it's well worth a visit.
