This was our 1st ever trip camping at the very young age of 40 ish!, Was shown to our pitch which was nice and close to the very fine and clean shower block. A nice sizeable space for our 4 man tent which my delightful partner then precoded to erect without difficulty! Staff at the site were helpful if needed, with a small shop on site selling tea coffee etc comes in handy for the odd something you may have forgotten. Not much for the kids to do apart from ride their bikes, but a pleasant site for adults who like to have a few cold drinks and a bit of peace in the outdoors.
We picked up an Indian takeaway from the town that was very nice. The pitch was flat enough to cook a wonderful breakfast in the morning. We spent 2 amiable and pleasant nights here and since this report we have visited another 4 camp sites around the peak district with this site as nice as any.

We stayed here Easter this year and loved it so much that we booked for Spring Bank before we left. I nearly didn't leave a review because I didn't want everybody to here just how much of a great campsite it is so I would not be able to get another booking!
Anyway.Staff are very very helpful and friendly. They organised a hunt Roger Rabbit at Easter and hunt the gold coins for Spring Bank for the kids, both with an organised prize giving at the end that all the kids on the site attended, the kids loved it.
The facilities are very clean and more than adequate and the campsite itself is very well maintained. A great play park for kids and the whole thing feels very safe and secure.
There is a supermarket within walking distance on the way into Buxton in case you run out of anything.
The only negative is that a lot of the pitches are on a bit of a slope so you have to be choosy about where you land your tent.
Would definitely book this site again next year!

What a lovely site this is made all the special by the superb staff.
We've stayed here quite a few times now and loved it, apart from the rain every time.!
The pitches are ace and well kept. Bear in mind they are up a very steep hill so if you have problems with your walking or legs then this might not be the best for you.
Toilets and showers are basic but very clean and work well.
A nice touch was the local Chinese and Indian takeaways will deliver to your tent, well, to the games room a the reception. We used the Chinese which was excellent food!
All in all the site gets a healthy 8/10 from me.Refurb the shower blocks and it'd get pretty much a 10!
Well worth a visit this one folks.

We used to visit this site quite often while we had a tent but have not been for 2years,we read some good reviews recently and decided to give site another visit. We were placed in motorhome area due to booking late, this is quite noisy if you are a light sleeper as cars and bikes use this road as a cut through most of the night. Toilets and showers are clean, but out of 3 showers in the ladies only one worked, one drizzled water and one had no shower head attached to it. Area is good for walkers not to far to walk into buxton for plenty of pubs and restaurants, but next time I think we will use another site.

We had spent a long weekend at Lime Tree Park.
The campsite wardens were really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
The toilet block and washing up area was spotless.
You can pitch anywhere on the camping field. It is on a slope, still easy to pitch on though.
The views are spectacular, especially the sunsets. This was helped by the lovely weather.
Definitely worth going back for another visit next year

Got to this lovely site friday afternoon to be met by a more than helpful warden. Great pitch, great view well kept site. But there is a noise curfew in place 10. 00 pm on a fri and sat night. Our group 5 vans and a tent all paid a lot of money for the weekend. Ok we sat in a caravan talking (no music on) at 11pm. Oh no we got busted by the warden , who asked one of our group to leave the site on sunday afternoon as he wanted the pitch for another camper.!
What a shame because the site is a little gem.
The only thing I would mention is poor water pressure in the showers other than that it was lovely.

The owner was friendly and gave us a nice welcome to the campsite. It was quite easy to find which was a good thing, plus Morrisons was nearby which is handy.
Had a free choice of where to pitch on the tent terraces. Was quite flat, although I noticed the big field at the top was rather sloped so beware if you camp there!
The campsite was busy (the perils of camping in the summer holiday I guess) so we had people all around us. Generally I prefer some space but at the time of year you can't complain.
The facilities were very clean and well stocked with loo roll etc. However there were too few toilets for the amount of women and children piling into them. (I took to going at after 10pm as it was the only quiet time!). I felt for the number of people camping, there were definitely too few toilets. However my OH reported no such problems in the mens. Obviously just a womens thing.
As has been mentioned by someone else, only two sinks for pot wash so you did have to queue for that too.
The kids play park looked fine to me (although I don't have children) and they had a games room which seemed to have a decent selection of board games etc.
The campsite was quiet after around 10pm which was a blessing as it was rather noisy earlier in the evenings (again due to the amount of people there). Plenty of water points and waste disposal points around.
You will need a torch to negotiate the steep stairs to the toilet block at night as they were not very well lit.
However don't think I am complaining, it was a reasonable campsite although not the best I have stayed in.

Excellent camp site with good shower/washing facilities. Caravan pitches had wonderful views, especially overlooking the viaduct. The friendly staff could not have made us more welcome - they even had time to assist me reversing onto the pitch!
Lots of walking opportunities for exploring the neighbouring countryside and the wardens recommended some walks for us.
The nearby town of Bakewell is a must for anybody visiting this area with a variety of shops in a traffic free area and an abundance of the Bakewell Buns (not for the diet conscious)
One downside to this site is that it is further into the lovely town of Buxton as the brochure suggests.

Just returned from a lovely weekend at the campsite with 3 other families in tents.
Very friendly helpful staff.
Lovely location.
Very clean toilets and showers.
Washing up facilities fine, but only 2 sinks.
Quiet at night.
We stayed on the top main field as there were 4 of us. The field is well maintained but quite sloping. The terraces seem flatter and more sheltered.
The play area is small but suited our children - we had 8 aged between 2 and 5. Don't think it would occupy older children for too long.
Would recommend.

We stayed here for two nights from a Sunday to a Tuesday. We had a very enjoyable stay - the views are stunning and we loved Buxton.
We were told to pitch our tent in the top field. The site was not particularly busy and we had a large choice of pitches. We decided to pitch near the bottom of the field as we thought it would be more sheltered. As mentioned in previous reviews the field is sloping - it is the first time we have camped on a sloping field and we did find it a bit of a challenge - our 4 year old managed to tip over her brother's highchair and also her own chair, sending her breakfast flying! But that is not a fault of the campsite and as the warden did point out, the site is located in Derbyshire so a bit of a slope is only to be expected! The only other hazard of pitching near the bottom of the field is that there is a cliff edge at the bottom - this is fenced off and there are notices up to warn you, but our 2 year old can run like the wind and was able to get under the fence, so we had to watch him like a hawk. In retrospect we should have pitched at the top of the field, as it is a bit flatter and also not so near the cliff edge, so we would have been a bit more relaxed to let our toddler have a bit of a run round.
We also used the play area which was fine, agree a few baby swings would make it perfect but it kept our kids amused.
The toilet block and washing up point were some of the best we've seen.
