Stayed here in a tent for 1 night in late June 2007, and found the site to be clean and well maintained. There was plenty of room for tents, and the shower/toilet block was clean and well presented. Showers were free, and plenty of hot water. A little playground for the children, and a lounge with a pool table (50p per game, I think). The washing up area was clean and adequate. Only suggestion I'd have is, perhaps provide a small freezer for freezing ice packs. Cost for two people and one tent was £13.

We visited this site with our 2 small children and had a great stay. The site is lovely, very clean and tidy and quite quirky in it's layout. We found a lovely spot on the terrace, which was really level and felt reasonably secluded. All the other families staying were extremely friendly and evenings were really quiet despite the site being full. The toilets and showers were always clean and tidy, I never had to queue for either facility. Buxton is a lovely town to visit for the weekend, Pavillion Gardens is great for the kids, I can recommend the train ride! We would definitely go back for another visit.

We stayed at the site based on the reviews from this website, and we were not disappointed. The site itself is beautifully kept, and the pitches are very generous. We pitched up on the caravan site and had a fabulous view of the viaduct and surrounding hills. The toilet and shower blocks were immaculately clean with PLENTY of hot water. The staff were extremely helpful - we forgot to pack towels (!) and when I asked the lady on reception directions to the nearest shop so I could buy some, she let me borrow some from her own store (for a small deposit) - very kind. Our children did not use the play area so can't comment on that - they were more than happy riding around the site on their bikes. The site is central for lots of attractions - we walked to Poole Cavern one day which is worth a visit. Would definitely re-visit this site.

I picked this site based on the reviews here and we weren't disappointed. The site was very quiet when we arrived as I think many may have been caught off guard by the hot weather. We managed to find an almost flat pitch on the tent terrace and it felt quite secluded as we were surrounded by trees on one side. The toilets and showers were clean and for 2 days I didn't see another person in there! There is a play park next to the toilet block that kept the children well entertained. The staff at reception were very friendly and one of them gave us a walk to follow, which took us up to Solomon's Temple, just visible from the camp site on top of a hill. It's a bit of a climb with small children but well worth the views from the top. We also had a drive out to the Blue John Mines and Castleton which are aren't too far away. You can climb to the top of Mam Tor opposite the mines, again a bit of a climb but well worth it for the views and watching the paragliders. The Morrisons down the road from the site was very handy but we couldn't really find anywhere good to eat within a reasonable distance, but perhaps we just didn't look hard enough. The only downside I would say would be the noise from the industrial site nearby though it didn't disturb us too much. Based on our visit I would certainly recommend this site and would definitely consider going back, though I can imagine the toilet block being a bit of a nightmare when the overflow field was full.

We camped at Lime Tree Park over the Easter weekend after having difficult booking elsewhere. The park is split with separate facilities for those camping and those caravanning and as such we are unable to comment on the caravan facilities. The main pitches are scenic, separated by trees and daffodils which allow some privacy from other tents. The overflow area is an open field further from the reception. Whilst the views from the site are beautiful, there are very few flat pitches. Even on the Easter weekend the site didn’t seem overfull. There is a policy to ensure that no tent should be pitched within a certain distance of the other but as this wasn’t communicated and there are no marked pitches it wasn’t followed. The facilities included three showers, toilets and washbasins per sex. They were very nicely decorated, clean and even included fresh flowers. Even on the bank holiday weekend there was little queuing in the mens but that may be due to the fact that there wasn’t any hot water. The site is very close to Buxton but manages to appear as though it is surrounded by countryside. That said we were looking for a country pub for Sunday dinner and those in walking distance were typical of a larger town. However after a lovely 1.5hr walk we found a beautiful pub called the Church Inn (which seemed fitting for Easter Sunday) in Chelmorton. The other downside with the site location is its proximity to the road and on a hot bank holiday weekend the noise from passing motorbikes became frustrating. This is a lovely site let down by the lack of hot water, lack of level pitches and the fact we were charged to freeze our icepacks.

Very nice site with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Clean toilet block and free hot showers. Very spacious pitches, we were on a hard standing but positioned so we could also peg out the awning on the grass. Friendly staff & wardens who direct you to your pitch. Right next to the quarry train line (with lovely viaduct views) but this means the freight train passes on a regular basis (about ten times a day), my son loved it and the noise was not too bad (apart from the 4.00am train!). Also under a flight path so lots of aeroplane activity but once again not too bad and our 6 year old thought it was great. Close to Poole country park and caverns (£20 for a family of 4 to visit the caverns). Buxton is very nice and worth a visit for the park & miniature train. A very enjoyable stay and will be returning again.

We stayed on this site for the first time at Easter, I expected it to be very busy with the good weather and a bank holiday but you couldn't tell. I didn't queue for a shower and there were only 3 in the ladies. Not very powerful showers but did the trick. The area was lovely and we had a good look around. The one thing not mentioned, is that trains do use that lovely looking viaduct, on the Saturday morning at around 4 a.m and 6 a.m but only odd one after that. To be fair though it didn't spoil this lovely quiet site and it is very well kept and looked after. Would return.

My husband, me and our 7 year old stayed here for our first camping trip as it wasn't too far from home. We really enjoyed it the pitch was pretty level and the toilets and showers were very clean. Lots to do locally and also a Morrison's store just down the road. Was a bit fed up the first night as we had the mouths of Britain next to us but they moved on the next day and it was peaceful again. Would recommend it to anyone.

We have been to this site several times over the last year. It is well maintained, and a very pleasant place to camp. There is a big field right at the top, which is slightly sloping, and can be exposed in poor weather, but is more than adequate for our needs.
Leading up to this top field are what I would describe as separate platforms, which offer the best pitches, and they are closer to the washrooms and sink areas. There is a small but nice play area for the kids on the way down to the little shop by the toilets. Dogs are allowed on leads, but there are some great walks further on from the top camping field. There is a safeway just down the road for any bits and pieces you may need. We dont use electric hook ups, but if you do, the electric pitches are at the bottom of the site near the caravans, and havent got the same scenery as the camping fields.
A great site, recommended.

Just quick review. We agree with all good things already written about this site. Just wanted to let you know how helpful one of the the wardens was when one of our party locked her keys in the boot of her car. Although he couldn't solve the problem he came to see if he could to help. Very friendly site with clean facilities.
