We found this site very pleasant but it can be a little exposed to the wind.

The site facilities are very good and there is a choice of several fields in which to be sited depending on one's needs. If children are to be catered for there are sites with lots of play areas and some areas are within a short walk of a leisure camp with white knuckle rides and all the things kids seem to look for on holidays. If you want a quieter area the other fields tend to cater very well for those needs with minimal child play areas. Dog friendly fields and non dog friendly fields make it possible not to troubled by the unsightly mess from inconsiderate owners not taking the trouble of cleaning up after their pets. Dog walking fields are also on site with bins for clearing up dog faeces.

Excellent farm walks can be found at the rear of the site and a fishing lake is also on site for those needing a fishing fix.

The staff are pleasant and helpful and there is a small supermarket on one of the site areas, 'open all hours' and a friendly pub or two on the edges of the site together with a couple of fast food takeaways for those who want a break from cooking occasionally.

The beach is just across a relatively quiet road and it seems to go on for ever with a pleasant walk/climb at the end of the bay onto a headland with lovely views over Weston Super Mare.

I visited this site after a recommendation and I would have no trouble recommending it to others.

Just returned from a two week holiday at Warren Farm - although I am a seasoned camper from my toddler years this is only our second camping trip since the arrival of our 3 and 2 year old children.!

SITE

Warren Farm markets itself as a Family Park and the facilities are spot on for those with families. The pitches are a good size (we were on Field 3) and accommodated our large tent easily with problem free EHU - no irritating resetting the circuit breaker every five minutes here.! The Staff are helpful and worthy of a special note are the toilet facilities - spotless the 'Cleaner' was in them cleaning no matter what time you visited - even at 11pm.! My two little ones loved her in fact.! 50p per shower for 8 minutes but they are actually clean and always hot so the benefit outweighs the cost and a handy 'baby bath' for shower shy toddlers like my youngest. We took the dog and there are plenty of open spaces to walk them - but please do pick up after your pet unlike some campers on-site (grrrr). Water/Waste points always close by and handy laundry/washing up area (also spotless too).

N.B If you arrive at Warren Farm with nothing else please take STORM PEGS - this coast is renowned for being breezy but we experienced 60MPH gusts (clearly most unseasonal.!) and saw a couple of caravans get badly damaged by awnings being ripped off and also several campers furiously hammering in extra pegs.!

ON-SITE FACILITIES

The shop is reasonably priced for a site shop (!) and we can recommend the Chinese Take Away too.! The Play Barn is small but great for tiring out little ones in the ball pit and my two loved the 'Pets Corner' - although as an Animal Lover I had to pity the poor Guinea Pigs being squeezed half to death by excited kids - perhaps their 'absent' parents should have taken more notice and taught them to hold them with a little more care. Meanwhile the Beechcomber is a nice complex - nightly Disco and games for the kids - aimed for the over 5's as my two were too young to understand the rules for most of the games bless em and kept cheating lol.! Lots of outside play area's too throughout the site. Arrive early if you want a seat though - we only managed a seat twice in a fortnight arriving at around 6.30p.M.!

The Brean Down Inn was our fave as the kids are young - on a nice day you can sit in the beer garden and let the kids play on the little playground to their hearts content safely. Food at the Inn is lovely too - well recommended.

BEACH and RESORT

Great beach for the little ones - as my three year old put it 'makes big Sandcastles'.! Dog's allowed too - and plentiful patrols reminding you of the mud-flats - you can park on the beach for 2.50 for the day which is worth it not to haul chairs/spades/picnics e.T.C. The Seagull is good with some good acts and food - however as with most of these venues arrive early for a seat. Also on a nice day try the Inn at the back of the 'Lazy Days' Caravan Park - stunning ocean view, playground with beach access and great hospitality.

HOLIDAY OVERALL

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Warren - with two pre-schoolers in tow it was nice to visit such a clean and 'kid friendly' site. Only two criticisms overall which in part are not the fault of the site:

1) WEATHER - we had one awful week of Gale Force winds and torrential rain - thank you Britain.!

2) CLIENTÈLE - Our children are young and early risers - if they make 7.30 a.M it's a miracle - but we try as best we can to make a 3 and a 2 year old understand the concept of a whisper - not always easy but we are teaching them to respect others and the environment around them. I personally 'apologised' to those camping next to us during the first week just in case the little ones had woken them - everyone said they had not heard a thing.! For 13 nights we had a wonderful experience returning to our Tent with minimal noise after 10.30p.M. Then the Friday pre-Bank Holiday arrived. Lots of groups travelled pitched together - to the rear we had a large caravan and awning pitched next to a large tent who cordoned off the area between their two units as a 'party zone' and next to us two tents with Adults and children. I am not a snob and am a party girl at heart and understand that not everyone has to be 'quiet' after dark because their toddlers are in bed - however partying/screaming/shouting till 3.30am in the morning is just a bit too much for me. Not to mention the two tents next door - the language was appalling and very loud (and trust me I work with 'blokes' and it was horrendous)- they woke my kids up twice during the night and I ended up sleeping in with them both if not only to cover over their ears.! All this whilst their kids played 'midnight football' in the middle of the campsite - we had a family from Holland camped the other side of us - boy was I proud to be British that night. We complained to site the following morning and was disappointed with their response - after asking for the Manager we were told 'he would look into it' and that we 'should have called the Warden on the Out of Hours number' - my point to him was at 3am in the morning I am really going to fumble around a Tent looking for a number and a phone with two petrified kids to calm down. My real beef is that throughout our stay the Warden had been a constant presence on the field - even waking us on his rounds some nights as he patrolled - however on the one night when you would expect trouble with the influx of so many people he was nowhere to be seen. I'm not a party pooper - but show some respect for others please campers.!

Would recommend the site just remember those storm pegs and avoid a Bank Holiday if you want to sleep.!

We've just returned from a week at this site.

We stayed in the Sunnyside area and the people on reception were very helpful. They let us save a site next to ours for when our friends arrived later in the day, and lent us an EHU unit for the week when our brand new one didn't work.

We could see the play area from our pitch, which was really good for keeping an eye on the children from afar. The toilet and shower block was modern and clean (although a bit messy by each evening - but it was summer holidays and very busy). I had been concerned about how long the shower would stay on for (50p per shower), but I like long showers and still had plenty of time.

We didn't go to any of the entertainment, so can't comment on that. The chip shop next to Sunnyside was good, but I can't recommend the pizza place, it was just really greasy and not nice.

We did use the children's activities: the soft play is small, but free and good for a wet afternoon; the free climbing and archery (Tues and Thurs afternoons) were good; the pets corner was small but the children loved holding the guinea pigs (each day at 6.30pm); and the free tractor ride was excellent (5-7.30pm Fri and Sat).

The beach over the road is huge and quiet, but if you want to go in to the sea then look up the tide times before. At low tide it is dangerous to go over the mud flats.

Although I don't think we'll go again, this site was what we needed. It isn't picturesque, but with 7 children aged 2 - 12 in our group it kept everyone happy.

And it was windy, thanks to whichever reviewer said to take storm pegs, we definitely needed them.

This was our first camping holiday and we were not disappointed, this site is great all round. We camped on the meadow (no electric field) and were shown where to pitch by a friendly warden. Pitches are very large (10mtr x 10mtr) which is great for larger tents. Showers and toilets were lovely and clean, showers are 50p but I didn't mind paying and you get 10 minutes which is adequate.

The Beachcomber club is on the edge of the site and serves food and there are cabarets and children's entertainment every night. We ate in the Brean down pub as we were nearer that end and the food was nice and reasonably priced, there was also a chinese chip shop and a takeaway for pizzas/burgers etc. Beach a 5 minute walk which is great. If you head left out of the site there are shops, arcades, funfair and pubs (the Seagull is particularly good for food and entertainment).

About a 15 minute walk though but you can drive and there is plenty of parking for around £2.50 for the day. Overall this is a very good site with excellent facilities, shame there is no swimming pool but the cost is far less than other sites and you can pay to swim in Brean Leisure Park. We enjoyed our holiday a lot and will be booking again for at least one weekend next summer.

Have just come back from a week at Warren Farm, we went with 3 other families, 2 of which were on field 5, we were on field 3! First Impressions of site were good, a very big park with big pitches (field 3), some of the other fields seemed to be a bit more cramped!

Toilet Facilities were on every field, ours were spotlessly clean and were cleaned regular (seemed to be every time we went the cleaner was there cleaning), Very Helpful at reception, shop on-site was reasonable priced, didn't try take-away but seemed reasonable, had an arcade for the kids, pool tables etc.

Has own pub/restuarant on site (The Beachcomber Inn) - we eat there twice, both times the food was excellent and reasonably priced - would heartily recommend it, did get busy though and quite hard to find tables for large groups of people, especially when you had 2/3 people sat on tables that would easily fit 6/8 with only a couple of drinks and no food, bit annoying.

The beach was just across the road, sea was always far out but that gave us room for cricket/rounders etc, the beach and site is quite a windy area so ensure you are prepared for that! Funfair just down the road, car-boots on regular, circus & a market were both on site while we were there, both recommended! Over all a brilliant site at a decent price with good facilities nearby, would definitely go back again! Only down-side was other campers having no respect for other campers, getting up at 6/7am and shouting across to friends and relatives in a loud voice and having loud conversations when other people are trying to sleep also people having no control over their dogs, barking in the early morning but that's no fault of the site, just ignorant campers but don't let that put you off, this is an awesome site and we will be going back at a later date!

Really friendly welcome from staff in reception, had choice of pitches on field which were all a good size. It was really windy when we were setting up and a fellow camper came to rescue me from blowing away! Found this to be a friendly site.

The toilet / shower blocks were very clean, plenty of toilets and sinks also cubicles with a sink in and baby sink! There were only 8 showers in ladies on our field and it did cost 50p but this was more than enough time to have a wash and wash & condition hair. There were also hair dryers and some plug sockets for straighteners etc. They had radio station playing which is nice.

The Chinese was really nice but it was a long walk from our field as we were near the reception and Beachcomber. Didn't try food at Beachcomber but what we saw looked nice, had a few drinks there reasonably priced. They also had nice large beer garden with play area.

Really good value for money - will be going back soon!

Very windy! Site clean and well maintained. Never had to queue for the showers. Always seemed to be someone cleaning or cutting grass. Disabled facilities excellent. Shame about the uncontrollable children with parents who did not care that they were annoying other campers as they were well away from their own unit! The site really should put a notice by the water to tell children not to play with the water, they must have wasted gallons. I asked them quite a few times to stop wasting water.

We don't often camp on the coast and usually try to avoid these very touristy 'holiday centre' type places in favour of something a little quieter and more of a 'retreat'. However some friends were going and they asked us along.

The site was pretty much as expected. A massive (seriously, MASSIVE) site, split into multiple fields of line upon line of 8x8m pitches in row after row, mainly filled with caravans.

EHU is available for every pitch by the looks of it, and I guess the pitch space is about enough, although everyone puts up their windbreaks to shield themselves off. Certainly the grass was immaculate and perfectly level, so ideal for the tent. Water points were close too.

The toilet and dishwashing facilities were large and always very clean. The showers were 50p but were large, and ran for 8 minutes, which is more than enough for even two people! (could get expensive though!).

These holiday park style sites have everything right there - pub, fish and chips, supermarket, children's 2 penny arcade, even a chinese take-away. None of this is for me, but I guess if you don't like exploring the area, then it's perfect.

The large, clean sandy beach is only a 5 minute walk, but like others have said, check tide times because when the tide is out you can't actually get down to the sea because of the dangerous mud banks.

So basically the site has good facilities, and offers everything you need for that beach holiday with the kids, albeit at the expense of any real space around your tent.

The problem was the clientele. Forget your 10:30 quiet time. It was party time until the early hours every night and during the day I've never heard so much bad language in front of children. This rant is making me sound like a real snob and I'm really not, but seriously the 'Beachcomber' on-site pub felt the need to have a full on nightclub style bouncer on the door at 5 in the evening - what does that tell you!

Unfortunately I wouldn't go back because of that.

Booked this site due to the many positive reviews. Had 2 tents, with 17,15,10,2 year old a small baby and 3 adults. Visited last week of August.

First of all the site is VERY windy, I had read this on reviews, and thought a bit of wind is no problem - it was GALE FORCE due to proximity of beach.

The beach is lovely, dog friendly and clean. However the sea is often so far out and there are dangerous mud banks. So not much success at paddling!

The on site amenities are ok. We did use the takeaway which was reasonably priced and the food was fine.

The toilet and shower blocks had been described as fantastic - This was not my experience, the toilets were dirty and in a week I saw an older woman in the facility once, putting in loo roll, which had often run out during the course of the day.

Due to the poor weather, the site was not exactly full to the brim, so no reason why they could not have been kept cleaner. Showers were ok, again not very clean, but good supply of hot water. There is a big sink for babies to be washed in - I did not take my baby into the area at all due to the poor cleanliness!

With a number of small children and a pram, we would not recommend this site as the roads are narrow and there are NO pavements at all, we had to drive everywhere as there are no local amenities that are safely reached! There is no front, no shops or promenade, the fair is in fact within a gated theme park some way up the road, which we did visit and it was good fun for the older children.

Overall we would not re-visit the site. We found it dirty and inconvenient with nothing close by other than the beach across the road. It was far too windy for tenting and we were extremely disappointed with the holiday, but just made the most of it!

The site is not far from Burnham on sea and Weston Supermare - so we visited these and also Cheddar, which is lovely and we have visited before - much nicer to stay in Cheddar if this is the area you are looking at!

Just returned from a brilliant 10 days holiday at Warren Farm. Reception greeted us with a lovely welcome, gave us some information on the site and in the surrounding area. Excellent facilities, toilets always clean, have to pay 50p for a shower, but water always hot and really lovely and clean, so well worth the money, plenty of sockets for hairdryers and straighteners etc. We were on field 6, plenty of space for our tent and son's pup tent. Play area on field for younger children. Got busier at weekend, but still really peaceful. Security drove round regularly at night. Beachcomber club house food brilliant, good entertainment every night. Hope to return there again for a long weekend in September.
