With very high hopes my small family and I pulled up outside a nice looking reception, within reception was a kind and friendly staff member who gave us a map and a little info pack, with a few supplies here for you van.

We stayed on field 5, pitches looked nice as we drove to our pitch, shame it was right in the far corner by the fishing lake,as a lot of the pitches were damp or had small puddles in, which with a child just learning to walk wont help her keep clean. There were some pitches with dead grass but this was dealt with quite quick with the turning of the mud and seeds put down. The pitches were of a good size but a little open which meant when the wind came it hit hard. I did find it hard to understand how they wanted us to pitch too.

Plenty of electric points and close to the unit, fresh water was not to far away, but the bins were just outside the wash block, which also housed the chemical and waste points. Inside the wash blocks I couldn't fault the mens, but my partner said that the time in the showers were to short as she couldn't wash here long hair in time and had to get out to put more money in.

The laundry room was good and cleaned and dried our clothes great.

The indoor play area was a little small and would soon get crowded in high season, the site shop was well stocked but a little over priced.

From our pitch everything was a bit of a walk which made most things hard to do with our small child.

There was no noise at all apart from our child crying every now and then.

As for the warden he was totally brilliant, he was so helpful when our child started to be sick when she got her christianing band stuck, he said if we get any more problems just to give him a knock and he'd get the doctor or an ambulance on site asap, so we can thank this warden enough.

Our only main concern was a hairy rat friend who kept trying to say hello during the hours of darkness.

This is a lovely site but for some reason my partner and I didn't gel with this site, but I'm sure lots of people will.

The only thought I have to make this site better is to add more time to the showers for the females so they can wash there hair without getting out with soap in there hair.

Great site! Excellent for young families good facilities toilets / showers etc. Entertainment at the beechcomber is good for families & couples of all ages with two separate rooms.

Staff are always helpful and friendly.

Most people at this site are regulars. The beach is great for kids & dogs.

Have been here around 20-40 times in past four years whether on the way back from a holiday or on the way.

 Disabled Accessibility: 98%

Weather: Wet and Cold

Unit: Twin Axle Caravan

Period: 3 days

We normally prefer small family run campsites but were initially attracted to Warren Farm by its low cost.

This is a big site, certainly much bigger than the impression the website provides. Don't be put off by this if you also prefer smaller sites - this one is fantastic - almost perfect! Although large, it is a family run site and this is clearly seen in their choice of staff all of whom were very warm, welcoming and friendly.

Access: The entire site is level. All the internal roads are tarmac and well maintained. The pitches are much larger than some we have seen with plenty of space for unit, large awning and vehicle.

Toilets: Each field has its own block. They are cleaned several times each day and, certainly the disabled toilets were very spacious and spotlessly clean. Deposit for the key is only £2.

Laundry: Not used but access level.

Reception: Very friendly staff and fully accessible.

Shop: Friendly Staff and Accessible, although a little cramped for wheelchair turning at the end of aisles.

Take-Away: Friendly staff and fully accessible although you may need a hand holding the door open. I didn't try the adjoining cafe area. The Take-Away is open for breakfasts as well and lunchtimes and evening. We found it reasonably priced.

Play Barn: Fully Accessible throughout.

Beachcoomber Inn: mostly friendly staff and fully accessible throughout even down to the dance area.

Chinese Take-Away: Friendly staff but not accessible.

Bunnies Supermarket: Friendly Staff and fully accessible, no problem here with a wheelchair.

I would like to point out that I was in a powered wheelchair and therefore the distances around the site were not a problem for me. Someone with a manual wheelchair might need the services of an able bodied helper.

Overall: Highly Recommended

Stayed here for four days, found a good pitch in field 6, the first field on left past reception, it was a nice spacious pitch and level always a bonus. There was a kids play area in the centre of the field too and access to a field were the boys could kick a ball around.

Toilet blocks for this field are amazing, really well planned to cater for large volumes of people, clean and warm, good hot showers, only problem is they don't last long enough for your 50p, could do with a few more mins, if you read this Warren Farm, please take note! or include the shower cost in the pitch fee. Pitch fees not overpriced either, for this summer, 2009 height of summer, £22.50 per pitch, 4 people inc electric.

Access to the beach is up a sandy slope, it is lovely, we flew kites and played, but the water was in Ireland when we were there, my husband and three kids did try walking out to paddle but it was too far and they started sinking into muddy sand, parents beware!

We used the shop, sells most basics, all ok.

Kids used the games room and arcade, got all good feedback from them.

Didn't go into the clubhouse, not our thing, so can't vouch for that.

Few shops on the road into Brean itself and arcades and there is the Brean Amusement park about 5 minutes drive, where we took the kids there on the last night and they had a blast.

We were very, very lucky last year as we had great weather during our stay and we went to the Brean outdoor pool and slides complex, again nly 5mins from site, it was great and we all loved those few hours. Not expensive either, paid less than £ 15.00 for two adults and three kids for a full two hour session.

All in all, great site and would definitely use again on regular basis.

As we were coming a long way, we phoned before hand to see if there was anywhere to park. We was told there was a car park opposite, we could use. What they forgot to mention was, that although the lock was on, it was actually not locked and could be opened. So we sat waiting for about 4 hours for the site office to open at 8am.

The pitches are reasonably sized & marked out ok. There are no bins around the pitches, & are situated behind the shower blocks. T his is an awfully big park, bigger than the impression you get from the web site. Having 2 boys aged 11 & 13; we were very disappointed with the lack of actives on this site.

The occasional archery or zip wires once a week, & the fishing lake, that’s about all. The shower facilities look excellent on the web site & I was quite looking forward to showering/pampering using their facilities, but if you have a dog, & stay on field 5, the shower blocks are nothing like the ones shown on the web site! In a way, we felt punished for being a dog lover. Once using the nice blocks, which we did on the way back from the club house in the evening, you’ll definitely notice the difference. The one's shown on the website, are the best we have seen so far in the past 2 years of touring. You also have to pay extra for the showers, which again aren’t mentioned on the site. Although it's only 20p each time, when there's a few of you, it all adds up. Also the water only runs for 5 minutes, so if you want to shave your legs etc, you have to put more money in! As they only have 6 seats for the mirrors & sockets, in the morning, there can be quite a long queue for both the showers & the mirrors. In the new blocks, this is not a problem, as there are quite a lot more there. Our block was clean, but a bit dated, & with only 3 washing machines, the laundry room was packed constantly. If you leave the dog at home, the facilities are excellent, bring them with you and get the above.

The site has a small shop with the basics, but was much overpriced. The chippy next door has the best chips ever! again, a little over priced. If your close by to the main entrance, this isn’t a problem, but again being on field 5, it's at least 5 minutes walk. The clubhouse is not in the same grounds as warren farm, again this isn't mentioned on the website. It's a short walk from the main gate, along the main road. We were hoping to let the kid’s go in the clubhouse, whilst we were still getting ready in the evening’s, but because of it not being in the same grounds, we couldn’t let them go without us. I must admit the entertainment was ok, having an adult bar for 12’s & over’s, as well as the normal expected entertainment in the children’s bar. This rule only applies fri-sun, & you also need to get there early, as getting a seat is a nightmare. The entertainment facilities are open to the public also, so it can get a bit packed.

Another disappointment was, we thought the beach access was directly off the site, of which, this was not the case. There’s a main road that you have to cross, and then walk up a sandy track and down the other side. This is not very practical, when you have young children and trying to carry beach stuff also. When the winds are strong, it’s even worse. Not having direct beach access, did put us off going over the beach, not that we had much good weather during our stay. We always stay on coastal sites, so was very disappointed when we discovered this was not the case with warren farm..

This is a wonderful site for the family. The showers are worth spending 50p on, they are clean, warm and nice hot water. There are several large fields for walking dogs or just relaxing. It is only a short walk to Brean beach which is a lovely place to take the children.

This site is a must. There are plenty of take aways on the site, so you don't have to spend time cooking.

Arrived at Warren Farm in July for 2 nights.

Situated in the top tent field (Sunnyside), we was provided with close toilet blocks and dishwashing fscilities. Very clean and top condition. Shower blocks was quite a walk so we took the car. 50p for 8-10 minutes which was lovely and hot and at a decent price.

The pub on site seemed a mile away from where our tent was so its a fair walk if you want a drink in the evening.

Many lovely towns surrounding the area including Brean, Burnham and Weston Super Mare, all in close drivable distance. All of them including supermarkets and shops.

Enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again in the future.

Pitched on site 6 which is dog free. Great for children, swings etc in centre, safe for them to ride bicycles around camp. Indoor play area, ball pit, skittles, pool & usual sea-side gaming machines. Well stocked shop on site, also fish & chip shop. Pub/social club on site was very busy Bank holiday August weekend, but looked great for young children with games organised for them by staff. Nice large clean beach opposite less than 5 minutes walk. We walked 30 minutes south on beach with pushchair to Brean leasure park which is also great for children with heated outdoor pool/water sides etc. Stopped at Ocean view pub for drinks with great beer garden.

Campsite very clean, quiet & well maintained. Shower/toilet block immaculate as was laundry & washing up facilities. Excellent location & good value at £17 for 2 adults & 2 babies with large tent.

Compared to other sites we have stayed at this year, This is one of the best, the weather helped a great deal, the staff was friendly and helpful, the shower and toilet blocks were one of the best, very clean, well equipped and excellent, hot showers at a small cost. I was impressed and on the entrance to the camping fields too.

Only 2 problems I could find with this site was the location to the camping fields, they were a good 10 minute walk from the back of the park to the main road. You had to walk through the touring and static caravan sections and if you have with you small children you would soon find yourself carrying them. The second was the massive amount of duck pooh scattered around near the pool. Hardly bad points but worth a mention.

To summarise:

This site is well located and in easy reach of the beach, with play areas for children, a local shop, a restaurant, fish and chip shop and night security staff. It’s almost a shame they don’t have an indoor or outdoor pool area???

Would I return to this site: Yes it catered for all our needs and reasonable price.

This was our first ever camping experience, and was recommended by family who have stayed there many times. We were in field 3, and were there for 3 nights. It was great being able to choose your own pitch, as you could then decide how close you wanted to be to the facilities. The shower cubicles were plentiful, and well worth the 50p. They were always clean along with the whole park. The washing up area also had about 4 washing machines and a couple of tumble dryers along with Irons. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It is only a couple of minute walk to the beach, but I would recommend driving (I think it costs £3.00 to park on the beach all day) as it is up a rather steep incline with soft sand, and taking a push chair up this with a 2 year old was extremely hard work. The beach is manned with a beach patrol, to ensure the safety of the beach goers. As well as making sure people did not get into difficulties, they were also escorting cars of the beach if they misbehave (Speeding, driving erratically etc). We enjoyed the site so much, that we are thinking of going again in the next couple of weeks.
