Our second visit this year and still a fantastic site. Still very clean in all areas, all large hard standing pitches with electric hook up, some super pitches available, good childrens play area and a small shop in reception, laundry facilities available. Large family shower room and a kids bathroom with a small bath for kids for those who dont like showers, friendly staff and wardens. I could go on but I won't, go and see for yourself you wont be let down. 10/10.

We have just spent a very pleasant weekend at Lickpenny Touring Park near Matlock.
The site was very clean and tidy with very large, all hard-standing pitches(which to me, looked a bit impersonal and could have done with new gravel laying throughout the site). The facilities were excellent from an indoor washing up and veg prep area including a microwave to superb disabled facilities.
The toilet block was very clean and hot showers on hand although a push tap system meant the tap had to be pressed about every 10 seconds! Clean disposal points but no visible recycling. The shop has basic provisions with newspaper and bread service.
The kids playground was excellent and in view where we were pitched and the views from the site were stunning with Riber Castle in the distance on the hills above Matlock.
A dog walking area and woodland walk opposite the site was enough to exercise the dog.And me!.
In all a great site with huge pitches, in an idyllic setting. We'll definitely go back at some point.

We had a long weekend at this site, it is very nice, with all pitches being hard standing with electric hook up, but our pitch had a small grassed area behind it, which was nice to sit on behind the van and enjoy the good weather. The pitches were broken up by large shrubs, trees and plants, which made it feel more private.
The facilities were excellent, spotlessley clean showers, and good toilet, water and waste facilities, all near to the pitches.
Small shop in the reception, (Milk, bread, tea, coffee etc), and also an automatic barrier to get in and out of the site, which you had to have a code to get in and out of, which was good for security.
Site situated close to Matlock, but within easy reach of the rest of Derbyshire, we visited Matlock bath, which was lovely, with beautiful scenery.
All in all this is an excellent site for exploring Derbyshire, and would definitley return, and reccommend it to anyone wanting to stay in this area.

Well worth a visit, large pitches ( biggest Ive seen ) all hard standing, toilets and showers are very good, there is a family shower room and a bathroom with a small bath for little kids that don't like the showers. loads of grass for ball games and a great little park for kids too. In reception they sell bits and bobs you might need, we left our van there during the week for a small fee and went back the following weekend. We will use this site again,

Just spent the bank holiday weekend here and it was absolutely fantastic. Facilities were spot on and immaculate. Pitches were set out just right and pretty spacious. Lovely wood to walk the dog in. Play areas set aside for children. This is one of the best sites we have stayed at. Will definitely go again. The only bad point is there isn't a pub within walking distance. However, tv reception was good so a few beers in the van at night.

We spent a long weekend at this site and despite the rain we had a lovely time. Wardens were very friendly, facilities are clean and the site is immaculate and very spacious. Lots of grassed area for kids to run free and play ball etc without annoying anyone. Chatsworth is worth a visit, it costs £2 to park and walk all around the grounds which are lovely, but have to pay more to get into house, gardens etc. Didn't think much to Matlock, but there was a lovely cafe in Matlock Bath which served homemade pies - just what you need on a wet day, delicious. We will be returning.

Going to be short and sweet as possible! Visited the site many times. Very picturesque with great views. Superb in the snow! The site is superbly kept and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful.
Pitches are all hardstanding, each giving loads of room. Superb base to visit Derbyshire. Toilets and shower blocks are excellent (and free!). Play area on site, also with plenty of green for games or just relaxing on.
Worth a visit at ANY time of the year.

What a lovely site. We have just returned from a weeks holiday here and are already planning a return trip for next year. The site was very well maintained and very clean. The pitches were very large. We had a pitch overlooking the park which was great for our kids, as we could sit at the caravan and watch them play. There was also plenty of grass for ball games etc. There is a barrier code to enter and leave the site so it made us feel very safe. The reception stocks a few basic essentials such as bread, tins, drinks, ice-creams etc. But the shops in Matlock are only about a 5-10 minute drive. The toilet and shower block on site are fantasically clean, the showers were hot and free. There were fresh flowers, cloths to clean the sinks, clean mop and bucket to clean the showers and a free hairdryer. The Tavern in Tansley is a great place to eat. We had 2 meals there and were very pleased. There is also a lot to do in the local area. All in all probably one of the best holidays we have had, and will definitely return.

Stayed here for 3 nights in our VW Camper and had a great time. The site is of very high standard, our pitch was number 19 near the toilets and opposite the childrens play area which was perfect position. The toilets/ showers/pot washing areas are kept very clean and there are even fresh flowers in there! The playground is good for older children but younger ones may need more supervision as the slides etc have steep steps and the ground quite hard. Make sure you take rock pegs for awnings as all pitches are hardstanding which works well. Also windbreaks come in handy as it can get v windy at the site. The pitches are large and everywhere is very clean. Nice walk into Matlock about 3 miles all down hill, definitely either catch the bus or get cab (£5) back. Paddling pool in Matlock, Aquarium in Matlock Bath and Heights of Abraham all well worth visits if you have children with you. All in all a great site which is fantastic value for money - definitely would go back.

A fantastic site, we booked for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay that much we came home mid week for work but left the caravan there for a small fee so we can go back for the following weekend. Showers are free and spotless, there is even a family bathroom with a small bath small toliet and sink, very ideal if your young kids dont like showers, in reception is a small shop that sells most things like papers eggs bacon bread milk tin food ice cream sweets awning pegs washing powder ( yes you can even do some washing while you are there if you like ). My little girl enjoyed the kids park and running free on the large grass area, kids can also play ball games if they fancy. All pitches are are standing and they all go straight on to tarmac so you dont have to go on the grass to get to the shower block this is great if the weather is raining. The only let down is there was no pub in walking distance to what I noticed, so we were glad we stocked up on the lager. Over all I give this site 10/10
