Please note, this site has now been taken over by the Caravan And Motorhome Club - bookings are open to non members. It was previously known as Lickpenny Touring Park.

Gorgeous site with a very friendly welcome on arrival. Plenty of pitches to choose from this early in the year so, following reviews on here, we headed to the higher end to take in the views. As has been often said, the pitches are huge, with lots of mature trees and shrubs.

The toilet block was very warm, and clean. Yes, the showers are push button, but I got 20 seconds per push before it ran out and the water was hot.

Barriers with security code for access and exit.

We did a lovely circular walk from site to Ashover, stopping at the garden centre cafe over the road for coffee and cake. The road was fine to walk along to get to our starting point.

I can highly recommend Po Boy Pies who visits the site on Fridays between 4. 30 and 7. 30. £13. 50 for a pie meal - pie, chips, mushy peas, crispy fried onions, gravy, and Hendersons relish. Delicious!

Our meal down at The Tavern at Tansley was also super. The food was great, and it's the most dog friendly pub I've been to. A blanket on the floor, a bowl of water and a couple of gravy bones were waiting at our booked table when we arrived.

All in all, a great weekend and I hope to be back to enjoy the view we should have had - the fog hasn't lifted all weekend!

Site was quite for the period of attendance. Reception was friendly and helpful.

Large hard standing with trees/bushes giving secluded feel. Plenty of service sites.

Shower/toilet blocks warm and clean but could be a little small if whole of site occupied.

Small range of consumables available in Reception but site would really benefit from cafe and bar on site.

Ideally need a vehicle to explore the locality but we used taxi's (Ray's taxis highly recommended) each day to get to Matlock from where we could catch train or bus to other local towns/sites.

Overall very pleased and a relaxing few days.

Well kept site, toilets and showers maintained

Very well, very clean.

Pitch sizes are large and due to the hedging quite private.

The hard standing area is of small stone which makes it ideal underfoot when an awning is erected.

The site is neat and tidy, hedges cut, grass is

In great condition.

Secure site with barriers

Friendly and helpful staff.

This was our third visit and probably not the last

 Absolutely gorgeous site.

Beautiful. Soooooo relaxing and quiet even at the weekend.

Pitch 19 opposite open grass area and kids play park beyond so we could see the kids from the caravan.

We paid £10 this morning so we could stay upto 5pm, we'll with it.

Walked into matlock yesterday about 2 hours each way but worth the pint when we reached matlock!

In the words of Anri. 'I'll be back', guaranteed.

A fantastic location on the side of the east valley side of the River Derwent - great views.

The pitches are mostly enormous - loads of space for m/home / caravan and awning, tent, car ! In spite of the valley slope, our pitch was almost precisely level.

Staff are all friendly and helpful, facilities all clean and well maintained.

There is nice dog-walk area within the site (though not fenced).

There is a small garden centre within about 150 yards from the site entrance, which has a surprisingly good café (considering the size of the centre). Matlock / Matlock Bath have all you need by way of pubs / restaurants / take-aways & supermarkets - about 8 minutes by road.

We stayed here for a couple of nights last month. We have two young children, so requested a pitch next to the play area.

The play area is great for younger and older children. Also a lot of open space for them to play in.

The facilities are really nice, modern and clean.

The whole site is nice and quiet.

The layout has been well thought out; with spacious pitches and hedges separating each pitch.

Overall, a great weekend. Would definitely stay again!

First time visiting this site, when we arrived Friday tea time there was a guy letting us in he told me we're to park up so I could check in at reception, having checked in they gave us a map of site our plot was easy to find.

The plots were massive everywhere was so clean and tidy,

Showers were always clean the only thing that let it down was not enough toilets,

This said we will definitely be returning.
