Really enjoyed staying at this site. Great location and a pleasant walk over fields to Robin Hoods Bay (up a small incline on way back). Site quite busy (Royal Wedding weekend) but no problems apart from tents quite close together but still ample space.
We had electric hook up and near to toilets, showers ect which was a bonus. Very clean showers (free) and did not experience any queues during our visit.
Excellent location for nearby Whitby and Scarborough. Lovely village pub (food excellent), butchers and small general store within short walking distance from camp site. Great for dogs lovely walks from campsite would take bikes next time as plenty of cycle tracks.
Loved this campsite and will definitely be back. It is worth visiting and if you get nice weather its a bonus. Hope this helps and is a credit to the owners and the staff of the site.

A great site for the whole family. We stayed over the half-term holiday and we managed to turn up without booking and get a pitch. Toilet and shower facilities were always clean and a washing-up area, laundry and ice brick re-freeze was available.
The playground in the family field (where we pitched) was in constant use throughout the day. The playground was sited a little bit too close to the main entrance and the kids had to be careful when leaving the playground area, however it did mean that it could be seen from most pitches in the field.
There was a small charge for an additional car and large tent, but we were refunded the charge for a large tent when they decided it wasn't a large tent. (We thought it was huge, but compared to some others, it seemed small!)
Lovely walks and a cycle trail running from Scarborough to Whitby on your doorstep and lots of local attractions close by. Robin Hoods Bay was about a minute walk. Good local pub and village shop.
Friendly and efficient service from all staff.

We really enjoyed our visit to this site, the welcome was very friendly and helpful, there was plenty space on the family field where we pitched our tent.
There was a play area to keep the children happy, and the field was close to the path leading to Robin Hoods Bay. A short pleasant walk takes you to a variety of shops and pubs as well as a fabulous beach.
The shower block is clean and pleasant and there are laundry facilities (didn't use these so can't comment!) Overall a fantastic time was had and would definitely go back again.

We have just returned from a week long stay at Middlewood Farm.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here, we had paid a bit extra as we have a particularly large tent, I did feel like we were very fairly given the extra space we had paid for. At the start of the week it was quiet but by the end (Good Friday) the Family Field was packed and it did seem like tents were on top of each other - although it was well organised. I was very happy with the pitch but am not one for crowds so was happy to be leaving.
The site location is excellent. A 15 minute walk through the woods to Robin Hoods Bay and not long in the car to Whitby / Scarborough making Middlewood Farm an excellent base.
The Childrens play area is useful as it kept my 6 year old busy whilst we were setting up. The closeness of the tent pitching during the busier days seemed to take away the fun of having the open space to play.
Showers and toilets were clean and spacious, also washing up area sufficient and clean.
I would return to this site and happily recommend it.
We didn't try out the pubs in the village but there is a divine chocolate shop in Robin Hoods Bay for a nice treat!

We have been visiting and returning to this site for a few years now and it is spot on. Large well managed camping field with excellent facilities. Toilet blocks and showers always clean with plenty of showers and hairdryers free of charge. Facilities to re-freeze your ice blocks if required. A very professionally run site with friendly staff. Great value for money. The location is fantastic – 10 minute walk through the field to picturesque Robin Hoods bay with its beautiful beach and many pubs and restaurants. Easy to get into Whitby on the bus (although it is expensive considering that you aren’t on the bus long!). There is also a pub in Fylingthorpe which is great and about 5 minutes from the site. Can’t rate this site highly enough.

This is a very large site contrary to the headlines, that said it was the beginning of the season and very quiet.
The toilets were clean, spotless in fact and there was plenty of free hotwater and showers.
The pitches we used were all level and well maintained with hedging to help protect the tents from that sea breeze.
It cost £7 per person per night and they charge from age 3 upwards.
We had a lovely stay, however, I cannot comment on how it will be in full season as there were another 2 fields which get opened up during this
There is a small playground for children (currently closed for maintenance) and its a 15 minute walk to Robin hoods bay with a small child.
I would use again out of season.

A lovely site, with a nice welcome at reception. Although on the first morning to find icy cold showers and no hot water for washing up was a problem. It wasn't until 3 hours later that a notice was put up informing other site users of this.
Also the bins are too far from the tents in the main field, it was also very hard to see the fire points when we arrived.
Other then this though it's a lovely site, and we met some great people even the young ladies who's car me and my brother tried to fix. Also the children's play area is aimed at children over about 5 years old so the 2 we had with us where a little upset that everything was too big for them

We visited this site with my parents to try out our new tent, for one night on a very cold and windy day! The site is situated in a nice little village, and is a nice open field. We just chose where to pitch and set about trying to pitch in the force 10 gale.
The site is really nice, has a good little children’s play ground. The toilet block is clean, well equipped and plenty of hot water.
We were there at a particularly late time of year, so we didn’t get the best weather. However, the site is really good. There is a little walk down to Robin Hood’s Bay which is great, and the village itself is really nice.
We had a meal at the Fylingdales Inn which is worth a visit.
A good site, we would return again, but earlier in the year!

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Middlewood Farm, 2 adults in a tent. We booked a pitch with hook up which was one of the better pitches around the edge of the main field. We wouldn't have fancied being in the middle or in the other fields, as other people have said the pitching is a bit random!
The facilities though were excellent, showers always clean and hot and also free hairdryers and sockets for your straighteners. They were no distance at all from our tent and there was plenty of pot washing sinks too (although a bin here would be useful!) Had a couple of take-aways from The Griddler van - excellent steak and chips!
We also hired frozen ice blocks from Reception for our coolbox - £1.00 deposit then 30p each block to hire. The walk to the beach through the fields is lovely to Robin Hoods Bay, a bit steep in places but only takes around 10 minutes.
Some lovely pubs and cafes here, we especial y enjoyed sitting in the garden at the Victoria at the top of the hill with a pint watching the tide! This campsite is in an excellent position for visiting Whitby (we went on the bus - £3.70 single)and Scarborough. Would certainly come again!

A very nice site in a lovely location 10 mins walk to Robin Hoods Bay. Whitby is lovely and a 10 minute drive away. Good facilities when the site is quiet. I would hate to visit this site during peak times as it may be impossible to keep the facilities clean as hundreds of people are sharing 4 showers, 5 toilets and 1 bath. This is shared between 3 large fields. The family field however shares another same sized facility for only one field. I find this very weird.
Book the family field if you can as it is much nicer with adequate facilities. Owner are very polite and helpful. I don't think I would visit again as there are too many places to visit around the country.
