Fantastic location. Short walk to several beauty spots (and pubs).
Reception very friendly and humoured, despite some challenging customers.
Will definitely return to this gem.

Good Location, felt the site was too commercial but it was nice. Walked the coastal path to Robin Hoods Bay 15/20mins cows in field well it is a farm, next day we walked to Robin Hoods Bay via the Cinder path which was a nice walk.
Robin Hoods Bay is a lovely place to visit with a few shops, eateries and pubs.
The negative points. If you have dogs there is nowhere to exercise your dog on site, No designated Dog Walk you have to walk them along the road to do their business on the grass verge.
Many left their dog mess there of course you can walk a bit further on to the Cinder Path not good in the dark at night or walk them in the cows field on lead. No where to let them off to have a run.
There is a barrier on entrance to the site which had a sign on it that it was locked certain time at night till the morning, which is okay but not when you need to leave early in the morning, one of our dogs was unwell and we needed to leave early luckily the barrier opened at 7am not at the later time stated.

Good position 20 mins walk to robin hoods bay via woodland path.
Good facilities. Pitch tight and not level felt hemmed in but protected from wind no sea view.
Fylingdales inn in village excellent food.
Good pint and chat outside bay hotel.
Walked to Whitby on cinder track perfect for bikes but we hadn’t taken ours.
Whitby brewery tap near abbey excellent worth the climb.

First visited this site in 1980 so return long overdue. Good welcome and service.
Loved the location and being able to do so many walks from the site without moving the van. Site was well cared for and pitches allocated sensibly. Good facilities.
Only downside was amenities block was rather cool. Weather was fine but cold

As site locations go, this has it all for us. A short walk to either Fylingthorpe or Robin Hood's Bay and the beach, adjacent to the cinder path (disused railway), between Ravenscar and Whitby and very close to the Cleveland way.
The site pitches are well laid out, but be aware you could need a long cable for EHU, we only had about 4m spare of our 25m cable. The shower block is well kept, but the showers only last five minutes, so you need to be pretty quick and factor in a 60 second warm-up time.
Caravan owners might want to be aware that there is a ford on one of the lanes coming from the village, fine in a motorhome or campervan, but could be tricky if towing.
Overall we really liked this site and will return at some point.

Excellent site with easy access to Robin Hood's Bay.
Great electric hooked up pitch on the top field.
Showers and Toilets are immaculately clean.
Easy parking next to pitch makes setting up and down really easy.

Location is very good, reasonable walk into Robinhoods Bay.
Camp site was good, spacings between units fair.
The toilet blocks had nice hot water, a screened wash basin in the gents, showers, wash basins
Two negatives
Only a land fill skip with no option to recycle, which I thought was outdated.
The hot water had a slight smell like the water had come from a tank that had been stagnant and needed cleaning.
But despite these negatives I would go again and recommend.
Hopefully the water smell will get sorted and ideally recycle bins will arrive.

The location of this site is excellent, with walks to Robin Hoods Bay, Boggle Hole and Ravenscar closeby and popular seaside places a short drive away. So perfect for this.
We found the site had oddly placed wooden posts on corners of pitches which made this a very difficult site to manoeuvre around in a twin axle caravan we found. The wooden posts didn't make it easy at all. But also we weren't sure what the purpose of the posts were, particular one on a corner with a cone over the top. We are very confident caravan drivers but it just seemed so tight for space.
Facilities are good.
Play area was across the road for us, but it was dominated with older children who were very intimidating. The swings positioned in the middle of the small play area also was off-putting. As it was such a small space and it seemed a bit of a hazard with small children in there. It really needed a larger space.
It was very very quiet at night time. We had no problems with noise at all.
Overall it was an average site, but for us it lacked the 'feel'. It felt closed in. I think it was really well suited to couples who want a very very quiet stay and would recommend it to those, if you are positioned on the site away from the play area, but for us it lacked something. We felt hemmed in, there was no green space for children to play ball games etc, the play area was below average, for families it felt restricting, with nowhere to run and play, but it was amazing for location!
