just spent 5 nights camping and found the site to be quite a good standard. It was busy for the start of stay but became much quieter. The field we were on was open to the wind and rain, but was flat well kept and the ground was perfect.
The toilet block was excellent and clean, free showers and hot. The wash area also was clean and tidy. The reception staff could not have been more helpful or polite. The burger van was ok and friendly staff.
The local village and area is really good for walks and the pub was a god send on one bad evening. A good walk down to the bays. There was two parties in our group and we pitched side by side no problem.
Overall well worth the money, good site good area good staff and not the last time we will visit, see you there?

Just spent 2 days here for the bank holiday weekend. We had not booked but that was no problem. The site was lovely and clean the toilets and shower block could not be faulted.
There was a very small playarea but it was only for very young children. We had 2 13 year old boys with us, there was nothing at all for them to do.
There was a lovely pub 10 minutes walk away, lovely big beer garden though it was too cold too use it. Hot dog van on site a bit expensive but nice.
The only problem for us with the site was that the field was so open too the winds there was no shelter at all and the winds coming over those fields were really bitterly cold.
All in all we thought the site was lovely and clean but a little lacking in friendliness, also I think its only good for very hot weather due too the location

We visited the camp site on the bank holiday weekend that fell at the end of may.
I initially found the staff on the reception pretty rude and my stay at the camp site went down hill from there.
The camp site was far too crowded (we could hardly fit out car at the side of the tent), the grass was very long, we had almost a 10 min walk (round trip) to the loo - not very good in the middle of the night!
Talking of loo's, the ladies constantly had mess on the seats - the owners cannot be blamed for this however it added to my overall opinion of the site - that its overcrowded, very expensive and nothing special.
Will not return

Just had a great weekend here made even better by the brilliant weather! Superb campsite, nice big level pitches. We had EHU but all pitches looked fine.
Superb location within easy walking distance from Robin hoods bay. The campsite walk to Robin hoods bay was closed but there was an alternative route, mainly off road and fine for a pram or wheelchair.
Very clean (new)showers loos and pot washing facilities. Shower cut off after 5 mins but seemed plenty long enough. There is also a really nice food van on site, serves nice breakfast and evening food(chips, burgers etc) Really good value too.
Whitby only a short drive away and lots to see and do in the lovely Robin hoods bay.
Dog friendly, good value, Cant wait to go back

We had a lovely time at this site. Spotlessly clean, in every area. Beautiful scenery, friendly staff. Some lovely walks, especially down to Robin Hoods Bay. Very dog friendly to.
Ideal for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors. Cant think of anything bad to say about it. We will be back very soon.

Stayed from Monday 12th to Sunday 18th April 2010 on the Family Field without EHU.
Excellent friendly, clean, quiet and level site. Tents were well spaced out.
Site facilities were lovely and clean with plenty of hot water in the showers and for washing up. Children's playground is well equipped. There is a Laundry that has an electric point and also a private bathroom.
This site has quite a lot of EHU pitches for tents.
Have stayed in their static caravans before and will definitely return to camp.
Service could be improved by providing a freezer for campers use. They do hire out freezer blocks and charge for re-freeze but I have stayed on many sites that provide a freezer and have found this to be a better / easier service to use.
There is a food vending van on site and also the food at the local pub was excellent.
There are many places of interest in the area that are easily reached from this location, both coastal and inland. Robin Hoods Bay is within walking distance and can be reached by road, by a path on a former railway track and then road or by a path through farmland.

Very nice site friendly, nice location old railway line good for bikes. Shower blocks very clean and plenty of hot water. Take away van on site very good and friendly free drinks while setting up walk to beach about 10 mins. Very dog friendly. Children's play area and field
Our only comment would be the road down is very steep and narrow, but worth it just to go to such a nice site and area

This was our first camping trip in our new tent and this site was great. It was a very nice family site very quiet which surprised us as it was goth weekend. The view from our tent was lovely and there were horses in the field next to us which we enjoyed watching.
The toilet and shower block were spotless and always plenty of hot water. There wasn't a shop on site but there was one in walking distance. There was also a food van that came every morning for bacon cobs etc and again in the evening for burgers and fish and chips etc
There was plenty to do in the area and only a fifteen minute walk into robin hoods bay lovely! We will definitely be going back next year

Visited for a one night break on the first weekend of the season.
Followed directions from the web site and although winding and very steep in parts with some narrow roads access was not a problem.
Our Golf GT TDI pulling our Pageant Bordeaux made it back up the big hill with ease.
Arrived around 1pm and found reception to be very helpful and friendly.Directed to pitch seven which was located close to the shower block, large hard standing with EHU.Very quiet with only a sprinkling of caravans and motor homes on site
Although there were none on site this weekend there are two large areas set aside for tents some with EHU imagine it being very busy when full.
Shower block were spotless if a little cold, plenty of water and waste points scattered around the site. Also another block situated next to reception
Fifteen minute stroll into Robin Hoods bay with beautiful views along the way.
Village Pub, store and butchers/ bakers five mins from the site.
Ideal location for exploring the N Yorks moors and coast
If you are looking for a clean, picturesque and friendly site away from the touristy hustle and bustle of Whitby give this a go.
Hard to believe that two weeks after what seems like an age of several inches of snow we were sat eating breakfast outside the van in glorious sunshine.

Stayed here for 3 nights over the New Year and was the best New Year we have ever had! Stayed in a 2 bed static right next to the play area - the kids loved it. We were worried about being cold (especially with all the snow) but no fear - the warm air heaters in every room meant that all rooms were warm. Caravan was spotlessly clean and was only built in 2006 so nice and modern.
Staff in reception very friendly.
The Fylingdale pub gave us a lovely warm welcome on News Year day even though we traipsed in in our muddy boots and ski gear!
Walk down to Robin Hoods Bay from the site is lovely and only took about 10 mins but beware - it is muddy at this time of year as you go across the fields(fine if wearing proper attire!)
Good location for getting to Whitby and Scarborough.
Great idea for multiple groups or families - and very reasonable compared with the other New Year options out there (£65 per night). Would definitely recommend. Would have booked again for this year but Hubby wants to go somewhere more exotic for his 40th!
