Well kept, clean site and facilities - there is a small safe and enclosed play area which encourages the children to play together which was ideal for our little boy (10 yrs old)
Ideal for walkers, couples and families.
Close to Robin Hoods Bay - we recommend a trip to one of the pubs, fish and chips then the ghost tour - all of which are suitable for all ages :-)
Staff at the site were friendly and knowledgeable.
Had a great time!

Just spent 2 nights here, very quiet but good site. Pitches good and level, site very well organised. Reception was very quick and efficient, we had booked earlier. We had a hard standing pitch (gravel pitch) with electric hook up all included in price.
Wifi fairly good, £5 per night or £10 for 3 nights. Entrance to field with code for barrier very good idea as I'm sure it prevents speeders when site busy.
No shop on site but short walk into village if required. We walked to nearest pub, Fylingdales Inn, for a meal. Food ok but not exceptional, beer good. Not a long walk either.
Walked to Robin Hoods Bay along the footpath, took about 20 minutes, walk there mostly down hill so took a little longer to get back! Nice shops and cafes etc in Robin Hoods Bay, well worth a visit.
The toilets and showers on site were very good and very clean. There is a notice saying the shower will only run for 5 minutes then switches off, this is more than adequate amount of time for a good shower. Seats in each shower cubicle very helpful when getting dry. Very efficient hair dryers provided free of charge. Toilet disposal etc very good. All in all very well run site with good amenities. The dog was very welcome both on site and in the pub, the dog walk was very good. There are notices asking dog owners to keep dogs on a lead at all times and to clean up after them but as usual there were some owners who chose to ignore both these requests! Not nice having to side step over dog mess left near field entrance, a torch needed to make sure we missed it!
Would visit again as very good site, well run with good amenities.

Had a few nights here with the wife and the dog. Overall the facilities were pretty good, the toilet blocks were clean but Mrs DW reported that her shower was cold (I stuck to the shower in the van).
The staff were extremely helpful even when we had to extend our stay due to some car trouble, they had to shuffle some other guests around but were really good about it. They even gave us a rebate when they realised they had charged us for an awning we didn't use.
The pitches are quite tight and the printed list of do's and don'ts is a little less than welcoming but I guess some people need a little reminding!
Be warned though, the tow in and out is not for the faint hearted, very narrow and VERY steep in places, which in retrospect is probably the only aspect which will prevent me from going back.

Great site, reasonably quiet units wise. Agree the motor home pitches are a little close but easily adequate. Facilities were spotless. Location is great to walk to robin hoods bay and Whitby. Bus also runs to Whitby and Scarborough from just up road.
Great pub in village serving good beer and food.
Will return

First visit to this site, great location and a nice welcome by the staff.
Good facilities and we didn't have to queue for showers but the schools weren't on holiday so I'm not sure what it's like at busy times.
Nice walk to Robin Hood Bay and handy location for Whitby where we visited family.
This is a working farm which we don't mind but if your not used to farm noise and routine then maybe not for you.
Dog friendly site which is nice to see. We will return.

A nice time at Middlewood Farm with friends at a gathering. Brilliant Location being a 15 minutes walk from Robin Hoods Bay and Bogle hole. Smallish pitches but good facilities including a van which does brilliant breakfasts and dinners on weekends. Dog friendly and because of its location had many pooches present but no problems. Ideal for touring North Yorkshire and would recommend. Owners friendly too! Good pub in the village.

Stayed for one night in this picturesque site close to the village of Fylingdales and only slightly further away from Robin Hood's Bay.
Access to the site is a bit tricky for caravans, the approach road getting very narrow at some points with residents' parking making it very tight indeed.
The site itself is split: behind the reception/owner's home is a very well kept grass field, on which there were mainly tents but also some motorhomes. There is also a playground for small children.
The second site, over the road, is quite a bit larger and houses the caravan park as well as tents. A third site is for static homes.
Checking in was quick and straightforward - the site is very clearly laid out and is accessed by a coded barrier.
Caravans I have to say were herded together very tightly. Had we put up our awning we could have passed a cuppa to the guy next door. Our hardstanding pitch was pretty low on hardstanding and consisted of grey muddy gravel which, it having rained, stuck to our footwear and was difficult to keep out of the 'van.
The toilet block was kept clean and was never too busy while we were there.
The site itself is placed in a valley with magnificent views of hills and woodland. The grass was well kept and there is a food van which opens to serve meals to those unwilling to cook, which those who bought them seemed very pleased with.
The pitch cost us (couple and dog) £26, perhaps a bit on the high side considering the very small pitch and the fact that we didn't use our awning. However the site was pretty busy nevertheless.
Fylingdales Village is fewer than ten minutes walk and has an excellent pub serving good food and excellent ales. It also has a good garden area for those with pets and kids.
On balance it's a well-placed site for touring a very pretty bit of country, but a bit of hardstanding maintenance would be very welcome.

Excellent time here. Helpful staff led us to our pitch in the main field close to the facilities. Plenty of taps about for fresh water to save going to the main building. Good showers, toilets and washing facilities, never had to queue even when the site got busy.
Great that it has a bathroom you can pay extra for access to as our 18 month old didn't like the showers!
Nearby village with a pub with good food and a couple of shops make driving unnecessary. A bit of treck over the fields to the beach at Robin Hood's Bay, but that was with two small kids and a lot of 'kit', much easier with older kids I'd imagine.
Great location for getting about, will definitely be back.

We have just returned from a 4 day break here.
The facilities were excellent, clean and modern (though I had to queue for the free hot showers, they quite quickly become free, the water lasts for 5 mins so a quick turn around).
Tents / caravans are quite close together, it is strictly organised to fit as many on the fields as possible.
There are signs to say no noise after 11pm, unfortunately there were a couple of groups who did not adhere to this and it was quite noisy until 12pm ish.
The play area for the kids is really basic, though there was plenty of room for them to play ball games on an empty field which they loved.
The scenery is quite nice, but the real draw of this site for us was it's proximity to Robin Hood's Bay, which is a 10 minute walk away through fields. The bay is really magical and the kids loved it.
We took our dog with us and must echo the review of a previous visitor that it is not very dog friendly, no area to exercise the dog on site, although dogs are allowed on the beach at Robin Hood's Bay which is a major plus. The beach was clean of any dog mess so people seem to respect the area.
I would return to this campsite because of how close it is to the Bay, but I personally prefer quieter campsites.

We have just returned today from Middlewood campsite, I've never been as disappointed as I was after reading reviews from your website and looking at their website I thought we were on to a winner. I found the toilets and shower to look grubby, the site overall was not well kept.
The staff were pleasant and the square field behind the reception which didn't have hard standings looked better than the touring field plus the toilets that they used were of a better standard, but overall very disappointing.
We had booked two nights, but went out today and then decided we wouldn't return, but go home.
The only plus point was the footpath through the site to Robin Hoods Bay, which would be nice in the height of summer as you could go there in the evening.
