Pleasant site with good but small facilities as in not really enough showers for the area size had to wait a while for a shower other then that good and clean with drinking water stations dotted around close by, pleasant staff and was very accommodating on arrival. Short walk to local shop and short walk across a pathed field pushchair accessible with little struggle to robin hoods bay great for kids to rock pool etc. And choice of pubs for a pint and food. Also a local pub short walk in village all in all a good site and will defo go back.

Well, what do you say when you pull up in the car, and the first words your 8yo son shouts are 'It stinks!'!.
We recently stayed for a week at this site, myself having previously visited Hooks House Farm a few years back. This site is far more level, and the family field in which we stayed was a superb size, not too big, not too cramped, and suffered no visible drainage problems, even though we had a generous few showers during the week.
Shower blocks were well located and clean (and, since a large camper van tried to negotiate the exit a little too widely, minus one roof tile!). There were three shower cubicles in the block, but we never had to wait in line. There's also a nicely built playground for kids to burn off energy and meet new friends in.
The site is superbly located, with a 15min downhill walk into 'Bay Town' itself, though not sure what the path would be like in wet weather.
The site was reasonable value for money, and pretty laid back.
In all, a good site in a lovely location, and as for that smell, well I was a farm boy growing up, my son is a townie, but I think we caught it with the wind in an unfortunate direction during an moment of farming husbandry!

We spent five nights at Middlewood Farm with our three young children. The site is very pleasant and well maintained.
Facilities - This site has all of the amenities we look for in a site. There are a few points worth note though.
-The showers are nice and warm and the five minute run time is generous compared to other sites we have stayed at. This was a hinderance when trying to shower a child at the same time though, as there is a wait of about three minutes before you can press the button again.
-The taps in the washroom instantly turn off when you release them, making it impossible to get a quick wash without filling a sink. This also makes it difficult to wash a small child's hands who cannot reach the sink, none of which are low enough for our five year old, and requiring me to lift them up and hold the tap on awkwardly.
-The bath is only half size, so don't expect a soak. It's ideal for kids though and one token provides plenty of hot water to fill it.
-The WiFi is very sporadic and would regularly not allow our devices to connect. As a network professional I probably notice this kind of thing more than the average joe though.
One of the urinals was blocked for the duration of our stay. I would have thought this would have been fixed pretty sharpish but what do I know?
Location - We found many walks that the kids loved and the beach at Robin Hoods Bay was great for the kids. It only took about 5 minutes to walk to at the pace of our three year old daughter. There are plenty of play parks in the neighbouring village that are within walking distance for the kids and a lot more fun than the on site park. It's also well situated for trips to places like Flamingo Land, which was a nice drive across the moors.
Customer Service - The staff on the site were very friendly and always up for a chin wag whenever we encountered them. They were very informative about local attractions as well.
Child Friendliness - Apart from the lack of family shower facilities and wash basins low enough for kids to use, the site was relatively accommodating for kids. The play park is decent but our kids got bored after a few visits. The 5 mph speed limit is good for the safety of kids, but that isn't unique to Middlewood Farm.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Middlewood Farm, although we did get a noisy neighbour on the final night who decided to watch movies on their TV, in their tent, and laugh and joke until 1am. A warden patrol after 11pm curfew might have stopped this sooner.

Visited for the second year running. Fabulous weather. Good facilities- bathrooms, washing. 10 min walk to Robin Hood's Bay through the fields and woodland. Campsite was very busy and crowded for those without electric hook up.
Locally, good take away pizza, fish and chips. Short drive to Falling Foss tea rooms which are lovely and worth visiting.

We have just returned from a weeks stay here. Robin hood's bay is beautiful and a 15 minute lovely walk away.
I cannot help but feel disappointed with the site. The pitches are very small with no room around you at all. This site is more geared for tents rather than caravans. Our pitch was on the road near the toilet block. We spent the whole time breathing in car fumes when we tried to relax outside the van. Some people were too lazy to walk to the toilet and drove there, leaving the car running. We felt like we were sat in a car park.
What is the point of being in the countryside if you are surrounded by other people and cars!
The site is well run and very clean but they are obviously happy to get the maximum cash out of the site rather than make the customers happy.
We did have a good holiday but will not be returning.

We were were welcomed on arrival, pitched up and enjoyed 15 days at this camp site on a family field and the first week end we had noisy neighbours on the Friday night. On the Saturday night our neighbours joined their friends on their pitch but came back singing loudly at 2 pm in the morning and some one shouting at them to be quiet. The camp site states after 11pm no noise! there after we had peaceful nights.
We fulfilled our time by doing the coastal walk approx. 6 and a half miles in to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay is a short distance from the beautiful camp site which has very clean Facilities and friendly Staff, Would definitely recommend this camp site for easy reach of places to visit Goathland to Gromont a good walk about 4and a half miles Had a great Holiday apart from the Noisy neighbours!

The site is on a working dairy farm although quite separate to the camping areas.
My first contact was by returned phone call to book the holiday. This was carried out very professionally and a deposit was paid. On arrival the reception was open and manned and again very professionally run. I was given a list of the park rules and a map of the site showing the area to pitch in. The site has well equipped hard standing areas for caravans / motorhomes modern clean toilets / showers and very good quality grassed area for tents with a perimeter access road way. I was asked to park my vehicle in front of my tent as a safety measure which I thought reflected the general professionalism of the site. Being a dog owner this was not a problem as long as kept on lead. Also the site have direct access to excellent walks (disused railway line) again a bonus for dog owners.
Robin Hoods Bay is easily with walking distance as too are pubs which serve food.
For the more adventurous Whitby is a good walk away (coastal walk or disused railway line) and well worth the visit. With a regular coastal bus service a bus ride is an easy option for the return trip (including dog) after a day on your feet.
Over all a recommended holiday location.

We chose this site because it appealed to us with its description of the surrounding area and also the reviews. We were not disappointed. The facilities were first class, clean toilets and showers. The owners were friendly and welcoming. Our two dogs enjoyed the walks to Robin Hood Bay.
It was a well managed site, very quiet with no noise after 11. 00pm. We would recommend this site as a base for exploring North Yorkshire

A pretty site in a lovely part of the country. We stayed over the bank holiday weekend and the place was very busy, to the point that the facilities couldn't really cope with the amount of people on site.
Queuing for showers is all part of camping but queuing for sinks and urinals when paying £25+ a night is frankly unacceptable.
Space around the tent was limited and we had to park the car directly in front of the porch which kind of spoilt the wonderful views on offer.
It's not a bad site but on this occasion I feel the owners should have thought a bit more carefully about the numbers they had on the fields.
Sadly we won't be going back.

This site is perfectly situated for visiting Robin Hood's Bay.
The facilities are very clean if somewhat dated.
However we felt it was grossly overpriced at £29 on 31st May.
The other off putting aspect was the 'PARK RULES'!
This was a sheet of rules issued to us as we checked in.
Lots of rules written in block capital letters, printed in red ink and even underlined! How much more pleasant to receive 'Camp Information' rather than 'Park Rules'. It felt a bit like school camp rules. But then again OFSTED wouldn't allow such negative rules to be issued and also posted all around the site!
