Great site! Clean, all facilities you would hope for, quiet, attractive.
Lovely 15 minute stroll into the town, through farmland and a nature reserve.
Robin Hood’s bay is bursting with character, full of places to eat and drink, take in the views and a fantastic beach to enjoy.
We will definitely return!

Beautiful campsite, in a wonderful village.
The pitch was perfect, staff friendly and welcoming.
Facilities always clean -including the toilets and the showers were warm.
Would definitely come back.
One of the nicest campsites that I have stayed at.
I would recommend to all.

Yearly visit and a meet up with friends who have a tent. We love that you can walk through the fields to Robin Hoods Bay and can just forget about the car.
Toilets and showers are clean and a warden often patrols so feels safe, a barrier operates in and out and although there is not a shop on site, its a short walk to the local grocery for anything you may have forgotten.
Plenty of places to eat in Robin Hoods bay and a short walk to the local pub. This place ticks all the boxes for us.

Nice camp site, with clean toilets and showers, friendly owners,
10 minute walk to local pub which served lovely food, child and dog friendly,
Local bus service to Scarborough and Whitby, bout 15 mins walk through fields to Robin hoods Bay with nice chip shop, a few pubs and small beach,
Only gripe is pitches seem a bit close,
We will return hopefully,

GOOD BITS - Superb location being a maybe half a mile from Robin hoods bay, accessed through the farms fields. The Cinder path is an old railway track running from Whitby to Scarborough and runs through the back of the camp. Then there is the Cleveland way that follows the coast line. Plenty of beautiful footpaths around the area, many of which have hedges that have grown overhead and formed green tunnels.
The Fylingdale inn is a 5 minute walk away in the village itself and serves a fabulous steak and ale pie! They have a selection of real ales too. Also a small store near the pub that sells basics.
The X93 bus runs through the village that follows a route from Middlesboro to Scarborough. This is great if you want to walk to Whitby but fancy taking the bus back or any other route you fancy along the coast. While we were there, they were charging a flat rate £2 for any trip along the route.
We met various staff including a warden we saw once, all of whom were polite and friendly. The site is generally well kept and the facilities appeared clean and tidy (Though we used our own onboard the van).
BAD BITS - When arriving at the site, you need to pull over in a small layby before you can enter the gated campsite. Reception is in the farm buildings immediately on the left of the road as you approach the site entrance. From there you can check in and receive the gate code and site details. It can be pretty chaotic when more than one caravan arrives there at the same time, as the road is very narrow and just after a bend in the road.
We were on a gravel pitch that requires you to pitch van and awning on the gravel. Our pitch (And I noticed quite a few others) required levelling off with ramps. The majority of these pitches are not level and with no ramps you may have an uncomfortable time. The van wheels are always in the same area of the pitch and this creates shallow dips in the surface.
There is no dog run as such and we didn't spot any dog bins. The site map you receive on arrival shows a dog walk which is actually the public road outside the site.
The camp was maybe 50% full during our stay and felt busy but OK. But as we left on the first school summer holiday date there was a large number of tent campers arriving and from what we could see, it will be pretty cramped for them with so many pitches on this part of the site.
The information sheet provided on arrival is a handy source of local info and site layout but the back is one long list of capital letters in red, DO NOT do this and you MUST do that. You could be forgiven for thinking you'd arrived in a recruit camp. Its not exactly welcoming. It also states that no complaint will be entertained once you leave the site because they insist they have chance to sort out before you leave. Doesn't sound very fair or reasonable to me. Been to plenty of well run sites that ensure rules are maintained without all the demands and orders.
Nice site, great location. Maybe they feel the need to provide intensive instructions and rules as we all know how ignorant some campers can be. But it all felt OTT to me.

Check In was very easy and the staff friendly and efficient. The site was pristine with plenty of space between pitches.
Facilities were good, shower block excellent and spotlessly clean.
Robin Hood Bay beach only a 12 minute walk away, easy reach to pubs and possibly the best fish n chips I’ve ever had.
Can’t find fault with the site, looking forward to staying again.

Have been visiting this site for many years we have camped, caravanned, motorhomed and also stayed in their static caravans we both thoroughly enjoy are stay here.
The facilities are always top notch, the staff are very helpful and the woodland ravine walk down to the bay is a bonus where there are shops bars and restaurants.
We hope to stay here for many years to come. Many thanks to Middlewood for another very enjoyable stay.
Have yet to try the camping pods maybe next time ?
