Absolutely excellent! Warm welcome from the warden when we arrived, little shop and book area in reception, even dvd's to borrow while you are there. Immaculately kept site, even the dog walk is well cared for. Toilet block extremely clean, piped music is welcome. We stayed on the adult part and although the site wasn't busy there were a few children there which we were not really aware of, due to being on the adult part. We really liked this site and are already planning when we can get back. Thank you so much. We are looking to be wardens in the future when we retire from our present jobs and would love to find a site like this to work on. Such a beautiful area too. The pub we went to was also very welcoming and the village is gorgeous!

We stayed at this site just after Easter weekend. The Harrier jump jets are now no longer audible as they clearly were two years ago when we last visited. So you would expect peace and quiet but the noise this time is positive as it is due to the construction of new facilities such as cabins and a swimming pool. It was very cold and windy during our visit ( no fault of the site of course!) but being as we had asked to be alongside our daughter's pitch - she has a baby on board - we were on a large unattractive rectangular field which had absolutely no shelter from the relentless wind blowing across the Rutland flatlands. The 'adults only' field is more attractive by far. There is a very short walk into Greetham which has one shop and three pubs. We had an Indian meal in one of the village pubs renamed 'Delhi 7' and the curries and the welcome were excellent. Babies and well behaved dogs welcome - how nice ! You can but a tray of double-yolk eggs at Reception although other groceries such as bread and milk must be bought from the local shop in Greetham.

This was only our second site since we bought a caravan and our first Caravan Club site. Everything was how we expected after reading other reviews, the hard standing pitches are large, the shower/toilet blocks are warm and clean with Rutland Radio playing which actually makes them less clinical, the play area looks like my 5 year old granddaughter would like it if it was better weather. One facility we didn't use but is a good touch is the dog shower, quite impressed with that! Overall a nice clean tidy site.
The location just outside Greetham village makes this a very quiet site except for the hourly church bell! There are now only 2 pubs and we ate in both. The other pub has turned into an Indian, jolly nice it looked too. Had the Friday night special of BBQ Ribs in the Plough which were to die for. The Wheetsheaf is a little more up market serving lovely food and although looks expensive on the menu, is worth every penny. The welcome we received at both pubs was so friendly and both allow dogs which is really good for us!
Overall we had a lovely weekend and will return when we get some better weather.

Just returned from a enjoyable first visit to this site. Friendly welcome and allocated a nice plot in the adult section. Site is nicely laid out but I imagine could be very busy at peak times, Showers very clean, warm with plenty of hot water. Not sure how the showers and toilets would cope when the site is busy as limited number. Village is 5 minutes walk with 3 pubs we ate in the Plough and Black Horse and would recommend both. You will be given a discount card on booking in for the Black Horse 10% of food and 50p off a pint.
Visited Oakham by bus which runs every two hours from the village.
Ideal off peak site for a quite stay within walking distance of the village.

One of our favourite sites and on this visit, we opted for the 'adults only' section. Settling in after selecting another pitch from the one allocated, peace reigned supreme. The toilet block was thoroughly cleaned each day and was heated I believe by a bio-mass (wood burning) system which ensured a luxurious warmth throughout. The showers had constant hot water with none of the 'push-button' type of operation guaranteed to annoy even the most hardened camper. Generous hard standing pitches were provided for even the largest of rigs. The staff couldn't have been more obliging in the well stocked reception block. A free pickup service is available to the local golf club which boasts a fine hotel with a superb restaurant. On asking if we could leave late on the last day we were told that our pitch was booked by another caravan owner but Hey-Ho, not to worry, they could be given another pitch which neatly solved the problem.

First time here and first time in the motor home, wardens were very helpful and friendly, we were in adult only section during the week which was very quiet only the church clock pleasantly ringing,
site was very clean, toilets warm and clean, hardstanding large and well marked out, plenty of facilities for children both safe and well kept.
dog walk good, but some lazy owners as usual, talk about give a dog a bad name, (pick it up folks) nice walk into village with shop and various pubs.
try the double yoke eggs from reception delicious, easy drive to rutland water and oakham with plenty of things to keep a family busy, all in all a very pleasant stay, will return.

This is without doubt one of the best sites you could go to. We have visited this campsite at least a dozen times in the last few years. It has everything you need for a relaxing break. Staff are friendly and helpful, pitches are generous and level and there are even some all service pitches at no extra cost. The shower block is clean and well kept, showers are not governed by having to keep pushing a button and are well heated for the cooler months. There is a separate Adults only camping area A dog walk at the end of the family field is a children's playground and even a small indoor games room Away from the site there are 3 walkable pubs that all serve good food, a garden center and local shop. There are even plans to open a swimming pool on site which will make this ever developing campsite complete. All I can say is try it you just might like it. With the very popular Rutland Water close by you really cant lose.

This is a very good campsite, we have been to a few and think this was the best so far. Lovely calm atmosphere!
Children's playground very good with sandy floor. Beautiful area with post office/shop and pubs in village 4miles walk from site.
Rutland water is lovely £3 for parking all day, kids play grounds free, cycling all around, dogs in certain parts.
Flat site, big pitches, very tidy well kept with friendly staff. AND swimming pool coming next year!

Just had a great stay with fab weather which is always a plus. Campsite/toilet/shower block were clean with good supply of hot water.
However at the weekend when the campsite was full they could have been cleaned possible twice daily rather than once.
Large playground and plenty of space for the kids. Facilities in the indoor games room a bit limited though.
If you go to the nearby village try The Wheatsheaf pub, good food with friendly staff. Lots of places to visit nearby.
Had a great stay will be back.

Just got back from our weekend at this excellent site. This is our second visit to this site & we cant wait to go again!
The pitches are big, level & well maintained we was on a hard standing & we got the sun all day. The toilet blocks are nice & clean with the radio on in the background. Greetham village is about a 10mins walk there is a village shop & 3 nice pubs the black horse has a deal on with the site as when you check in they give you a discount card. 10% off food & 50p off a pint or glass of wine. Rutland water is only 10 mins away which we biked around & the site is only 5mins away from the a1 & well signposted. Would recommend this site to anyone
