Visited for two nights late March.
Very friendly and helpful reception. Had a hardstanding pitch which was large and level.
Walked to one of the pubs in the village, The Plough, took 10 mins(need a torch though at night). Dog friendly pub for those who like to take their pooch with them.
Toilets/showers spotless ,tv reception good too.
This is a fairly new site so lacks any features to give it any character.
Will be visiting again in the summer for a stop over

Great site. Friendly staff. Good pitch sizes, well set out. Everything spotlessly clean and tidy.
Two toilet blocks, one brand new with handy dog parking area outside.
Huge kids play area, mainly sand, with wooden fort, swings, slides and wendy houses for the little ones.
An open site so can be windy. Fish and Chip van calls on Saturday night. Ice cream van came around site on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
Walking distance to local village with 3 pubs and a small shop.
Very near to RAF Cottesmore so flight noise can be very loud during the week, no flying at weekends.
2 huge tent areas. One near the play area and entrance, the other at the back of the site.
OK dog walk, but densely planted and dog lead kept getting tangled around the trees.
Pitch black at night, but more lighting going in soon.
All in all one of the nicest sites we have stayed on for some time.

This was our first time ever in a caravan and a weekend to try it out.
This site is super the staff top rate and the site in whole is just like new pitch was hardstanding well they all are,
The size for each pitch is well very very large I can't recommend this site enough.
We are going back again that's for sure
Very secure you get a card to get in the gate and if you go out and are back after 11pm you must leave your car outside the gate no noise after 11 which I think is great.
A little shop not a lot in it but they sell gas and a few other bits but oakham is a few miles away so no worries .
Showers and toilets are great just like new and need a number to use them (well for the door that is) closed 11 to 12 for cleaning.

We stayed for three nights Dec 30 - Jan 2. Had a fantastic time, super site, friendly owners, spotless facilities, even our four boys enjoyed being here 'Just like they used to'. Plenty of space for children to play without disturbing others, lots of lovely walks to and around the village of Greetham and of course 3 pubs to choose from.

I stayed here for 4 nights last week - lovely clean well kept site with very helpful wardens _ I was most impressed as most sites price for 2 adults, but I was given a discount because it was just me and I have never had this anywhere else.
The nearby RAF base was a bit of a worry when I first arrived, but is honestly not as issue even when the planes take off and land.
I did wonder if it would get noisy and busy over the weekend but the wardens seemed to place the larger parties on one field and the smaller (and I guess generally quieter) parties on another so everyone was happy!
Highly recommend this site to anyone else and will definitely be back

This was only our second time camping and we are well and truly hooked.
We saw the weather was going to be nice, telephoned the site, packed the car and were off.
On arrival at the site we were greeted and shown to the pitch by the owner. They put us and our two children (aged 4 & 2) right next to the children's play area. Our kids played in the play area (which was secure) until the tent was up.
The toilets and showers were immaculate and everyone on the site was very friendly. Even managed to get dinner from the visiting fish and chip van that comes to site on Saturdays.
There were no rowdy families on site at all and everything was very relaxed and felt secure and safe.
Packed the tent up in the morning and headed for Twinlakes park which tired the kids out completely and is about 20 miles away.
We will definitely be returning, but next time for longer so we can have a good explore around the area.

Fabulous campsite, great location. Helpful friendly staff. Level, spacious pitches with seperate family field, allowing me to sleep in each morning. Well maintained, spotless toilet and shower blocks. I returned from an evening out at 10.30pm to find the toilets in one block were not flushing. When I went to use them again at 7.15am, they had been fixed and cleaned. Pretty impressive by any campsite standards! Only a 5 minute walk to the very pretty Greetham village with a shop and 3 pubs - The Plough had a lovely atmosphere as well as 3 hand pull beers. The Wheatsheaf has a pleasant garden and decent beer. Only 10 mins from Oakham and Rutland Water. Thought I had finished camping for this year, but may fit in another weekend to return to Rutland.

We only stopped for 1 night but were more than happy with our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even guided us to our pitch on his bike. The pitch was great; the toilet and shower facilities were spotless and the campsite was really clean. The local pubs in Greetham were reasonably priced. Our preference was for the Black Horse as this was more suited to our budget. The local Post Office stocked everything you would need and helped us out with a cash back facility. The Village was beautiful and well worth a look around. The only thing that other reviews didn’t mention was an hourly chime from the church which may keep the lighter sleeper awake at night. We are definitely going to use this site again.

My partner and I stayed here over August Bank Holiday weekend. Great site, clean and secure with friendly staff and only a short stroll into Greetham village. Do try the Plough pub for good beer, great food, and very friendly staff and locals. We were made to feel welcome everywhere we went. The site didnt feel crowded despite being fully booked all weekend, there was never a problem with the loos or showers (plenty of hot water and kept clean), the pitches are all quite large so you aren't on top of your neighbours and it is lovely and quiet after 11pm. It is very handy for Rutland Water and Barnsdale and also easy to get to. We will be back!
