Site:- Clean, Tidy, Flat, Average Costs.
Washing area Clean. Plenty of good sized shower Cubicles. There was always one free. Hand washing basins not separated. Family Bathroom. I. E. A real bath, not a shower.
4 Washing up sinks again no queuing
Recycling and chemical point available. Also kept clean. Swimming pool hire at extra cost.
Pitch size average. FULLY serviced (Water and grey waste)
Play area for young Children
Wardens polite.
Up to this point 10 out of 10.
Would not recommend home cooked Cafe food. Cooked Breakfast was very dry.
No cycle, scooters etc allowed on site.
We were late back one night we explained to the receptionist on arrival that this would happen We asked if it would be Ok to park in the carpark outside the entrance to the park. We were told we couldn't because the security gate would be locked but we could get in via a footpath at the back of the site if we left the car on the the road into the village.
At 11pm on a Saturday night we found out that this path is not suitable for disability walkers and that you need to have your pass card to get in through the solid metal gate which does have a notice on it to say it is the way in but is very weathered and not easy to read. I imagine in wet weather the path is very muddy.
Pitching your tent MUST be on the Right of the pitch with car on the Left as you face the pitch. Not very friendly when camping with another couple when there is a car between you all the time. No communal area between you of any size.
The site was not busy even though it was August and very warm. We asked if we could leave the trailer in the car park for the afternoon on the day we checked out. Request refused.
My impression was that there were rules and regardless of circumstances there would be no deviation. So even though the campsite is well maintained I would not consider staying here again unless there was no alternative. I did not come away feeling good about this site.
Look out for Firework Competitions in the area during August. Drone show and 4 X 10 minuet firework displays to music. Fantastic. Take your chairs and picnic. Some people even had a portable BBQ. BUT remember you will have to walk along the footpath at the back of the site to get back to your tent!

A large busy site noisy at times but it was the Bank Holiday weekend and school holidays. We originally booked an adults only hard standing pitch but asked to move due to the noise from dogs barking and the busy road.
We were moved without any problem onto a grass pitch further down the site. Unfortunately someone felt the need to play their music loudly until 10. 45pm one evening. Site requests that noise is kept to a minimum after 11pm.
Very popular for owners of dogs, which we have, but the dog walk was smaller than we had imagined. The shower block is lovely, clean and warm and the site is reasonably well maintained. Staff were approachable.
We did not use the cafe on site but the menu looked good.
The village is an easy walk from the site and the Plough is a nice pub but overall little else in the village.
We left the site early. Overall overpriced and not for us.

Excellent site. Very good facilities. Toilets and shower room had underfloor heating!
Every block was spotless.
We stayed on the adults only part of the site.
We had a hard standing pitch with hook up and it was level and close to all amenities.
Liked the boundary gates being card operated for extra security.
A ten minute walk to Greetham village which had a great cosy pub The Plough.
The campsite staff were very friendly and helpful to me as a newbie to campervan life.
I would highly recommend this site.

A well kept site with a separate adults only section.
When we called to book we were told there was an 8 metre maximum length allowed on site so it seemed a bit strange that there were 3 large RVs parked up when we arrived. We were allocated a pitch and told that was the only one available.
The facilities block is well kept, with individual rooms including shower toilet and sink which was a nice touch.
The village is reached via a gate form the site and there are a couple of pubs. We took the bus to Oakham which was like a rally down the country lanes on the way there but thankfully a more relaxed journey back.

We have been visiting this site since 2002 and its lovely to see it mature over the years and after RAF Cottesmore changed to an Army base the site is so peaceful and although I do miss the harrier jets they rarely flew on weekends.
We have just spent a few days there again with our 5 year old Grandaughter and it was fantastic.
We booked the swimming pool which is hired out in 30 minute slots for £16 where you have the pool to yourselves which was started to protect families through covid times and was so successful has been kept on?
The park is split into 2 halfs, 1 for Adults only and one for families which has a children's play area in the center so everyone can keep an eye on their young ones.
Dog walking facilities are fantastic and there is a rallie field that I call hares field as there were 11 hares on the field boxing and playing early morning around 6am.
Local pubs and restaurants 5 minute walk from the site and at the back of the plough pub they have rabbits and canary flock to see as well as a lovely garden.
Site also has a coffee shop open from 0800 to 2000 g8 food lovely staff and you can order homemade pizza and full English Breakfast and you need never cook your whole break if you desire 😋

Lovely well kept campsite, been many times, with the grandchildren in the family bit or with friends in the adult side.
Lovely, helpful staff.
Great facilities, clean toilets and showers.
Walk through the woods to the village, sadly village shop has shut, but we had a meal at the Plough and it was great, good value and buzzing, we haven't got a dog but it welcomes them, even has a dog menu!
Oakham is a lovely town and Barnsdale was lovely, would be even better in Spring.
As somebody said swimming pool a bit overpriced but if you were a family not bad value.

Friendly staff on entrance who were fast and efficient in directing us to our site even though we were late arrivals.
Clean and very convenient for the sailing club and a very cheap site in beautiful surroundings. Lots of pubs around area to eat in.
Couldn’t have asked for more from our stay and booking and payment card/cash as we arrived at the site was so easy, we didn’t even have to exit our vehicle.

Stunning site with adults only area and facilities as well as family friendly facilities all on the same site.
Small cafe that did a lovely breakfast in the morning and you can walk into the nearby village through a path out the back of the campsite where you will find a couple of lovely pubs and a takeaway.
My only criticism is the cost. The pitches are not cheap and £16 to use the pool for 30 mins, is borderline ridiculous and not worth it for a couple or single family.
