Excellent site, good clean facilities, modern shower/washing/cleaning facilities cleaned daily for an hour but the other block was readily available. Shop on site sold very basic necessities, like milk, egg and chocolate! But post office in the village near by covered more and there is a co-op store 6 miles down the B668 towards Oakham. We staying in the family non-electric field, this can be very busy at weekends but seemed to be a lot quieter during the week. The field has a very good play area at the end (sand based so bring bucket and spade!) It also has a fenced under 5's area that is full of little tikes equipment, not only did our 2 year old enjoy this but our 12 year old did too! We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The security on the site was good, number code to get in. Visitors were not allowed access to the number, therefore they were not allowed through the gate by vehicle. They had to report to reception and were walked round, this was to stop any unknown cars onsite. Gates are closed between 11pm and 6.30am. Our overall opinion is that it is a cracking little site and we will be visiting again!

Lovely site, well maintained, immaculate toilets/showers, lots of hot water, friendly wardens, good pitch size compared to other sites we have stayed on. Nice village within 10 minutes walking distance. (Don't forget the torch!) We tried The Plough, friendly staff and a nice meal. We even managed one whole dry day, a first this year! Hoping to go back in September

We visited this site during Whitsun weekend and even though the site was about full the facilities were still kept very clean. Our children all enjoyed the play area, which is quite large. This is now the third time we have been to Rutland and will definitely be going again. Pitches are all very generous, and the site is nicely landscaped. The local village of Greetham has some nice pubs, we had Sunday lunch at the Plough and it was very nice, freshly cooked, and reasonably priced, but you will need to book. Rutland Water is also worth a visit.

Found the site to be very well kept. Shower block clean and modern. Site seems well laid out with family field, adults only field etc. Also a good feeling of security on the site. Location excellent for visiting Rutland water. Would have no hesitation in recommending the site or returning again.

Found the site very clean pitches are level also have got quite a few hard-standings and more are planned in the future. It did get a bit boggy this weekend that is the bank hol one. Found the cost of the Internet a bit expense, £3.50 for an hour. The Wheatsheaf pub was very good for a meal

I visited the site with a few others & a dog in 2005-2006 in a tent. I believe the site was fairly newish. The site had a nice clean toilet & shower block with pot washing facilities.
If you want peace & quite this should be right up your street. I cant really remember much, but I know I was definitely pleased with the site & its facilities.

Echo the comments already made - the site is exposed but lots of trees have been planted and should provide some shelter in years to come - toilet block superb - load of hot water at any time we used them. Kids play area good too with fenced off section for toddlers and swings / slide for older kids. Approx 10 minutes drive from Rutland water if you avoid Oakham and go on the back lanes. Will be back!

This was a lovely clean site, with excellent washroom facilities and an ideal location to drive to Rutland Water. We particularly liked the dog walking area and easy access to the village. The pitches were very level, with good drainage. It was a quiet site, and from what we saw had a nice play area if you have kids. The wardens were extremely helpful and friendly.
Overall we liked the site, but did find it a bit bleak. It was a windy weekend, and not having our awning with us meant we were reluctant to return to the site until bed time as we did not want to have to take shelter in the small campervan!
We would return to this site in the future, but only if the forecast is less windy, and this time with our awning. We noticed most people also had tie down straps on their awnings, something I would definitely purchase before returning.

We have just spent the Easter weekend at Rutland Caravan and Camping site. We had high expectations as the reviews we had read were all really good, and we were not disappointed. The site was nice and clean all the time, the toilet blocks were regularly stocked with toilet roll and the showers had hot water and plenty of space in them. The wardens were really friendly and the location, was good - 5 minutes walk into the village of Greetham, 5 miles from Rutland Water so within easy cycling distance. And there is a bus (the Rutland Flyer 2) which goes from Greetham every 2 hours into Melton or Oakham and its a good way of seeing the villages inbetween. The essentials - milk, bread, eggs, chocolate! - are sold from reception and the chip van comes on a Saturday night. We were on the top field, where the wind blows straight across the site as it is quite open, but thought it was a little more sheltered on the bottom field. If we go back that way we would be happy to stay there again and would definitely recommend it to anybody going to Rutland.

Found the campsite very easy to get to. Well signed. It was very quiet and clean. Toilet block was fantastic. The best yet!. Warm and with radio piped in. What more could you want!
The only problem we encountered was when we came to use the motor mover on the van , with the amount of gravel laid down. We found it was skidding on it and had to use the car to reverse the van in.
Our friends were next to us in a small motorhome and also found the site brilliant. We have toured together to many places and have found this site to be one of the best. WE WILL BE BACK
