We turned up here unexpectedly and was surprised they could fit us in as it was a scorcher of a weekend. Our reception was friendly and formative. The pitch we were given was in the family field and was huge!
The toilet blocks were clean and the showers ace. There is lots to do in the area so this site would make a great base for a longer stay but we were only there one night so we just sat back and enjoyed the sun.
There is a chip van that visits on a Saturday evening which was well nice.

Just had a great weekend at this lovely site.
The general area is pretty and nearby Rutland Water is gorgeous.
Toilet/shower blocks were excellent - modern and very clean. Showers had very good pressure.
The children's play area was superb and kept our little ones entertained the whole weekend. It is all on sand which gives it a real holiday feel.
The only downside for us was the pitch. We were given a 'super pitch' at no extra charge which has water and waste. The hard standing was actually stones (shingle) and this presented a problem with earwigs. During the day it was fine, come night time the little buggers took over the awning - in every nook and cranny. There were literally hundreds of them.
Also, the small grassed area between pitches needed a good weeding, it was covered in nettles - not the best with small children. The grassed areas of the site did look better kept though.
All in all, a great site in a great location and we will definitely visit again (on a grass pitch).

Lovely site. Very clean facilities, plenty of hot water with good water pressure in the showers!
We quite enjoyed watching the Tornado fighter jets practising vertical take-off & other manoeuvres, but some people may find the noise intrusive.
Site divided into adults only/family areas with toilets & showers in each area. Play area looked really good & shop had a fair stock of basics.
Would recommend to anyone.

Situated just away from the picturesque village of Greetham, the park is easy enough to find if following the instructions given on the website. Upon arrival you come across card operated barriers giving security peace of mind, a card is issued in exchange for your Caravan Club membership card (which is held as a deposit).
Being a Caravan Club site, a high standard is expected and the product on offer is certainly no disappointment. The site is made up of 3 fields, one for camping, one for families and an adults only area. Large area pitches give a feeling of freedom with plenty of room for an awning and car parking and a quick game of football with Tatty hound..
A first class toilet and shower block, closed for an hour each day to allow for thorough cleaning (2 blocks on site so when 1 closed the other remains open).A nice touch was the piped music in the Gents (Heart FM but never mind). At the time of our visit, Mrs. Tatty was suffering from a broken ankle (I keep telling her she is too old for skateboarding but will she listen?) and our request for her to have access to the disabled facilities was favourably received.
There is a large dog walking area containing many trees which must be a paradise for dogs. A waste bin is situated at the entrance of the area. Just a few minutes walk away is Greetham village itself, containing 3 pubs (pub lunches very highly recommended) and a small shop which sells just about everything you would ever need (and a whole lot of stuff you probably wouldn’t).
A little pricey maybe, but you get what you pay for in this life. The park cannot be faulted in any respect with its friendly, very helpful staff, high standards of park upkeep and cleanliness. We will definitely be making another visit.
Footnote: If you want a days fishing then try Homeclose Fishery midway between Oakham and Melton Mowbray. 4 well stocked lakes and 1st class facilities.

Have just come back from a lovely weekend at this pleasant site. We would not normally go to such a big site, preferring the smaller, family run ones but they have divided up the large flat site into smaller, more friendly areas with earth banks.
The only downside was the rather stony ground which was rock hard as there had been no rain for some time, we bent a few pegs but had a couple of rock pegs which came in handy.
The showers were first class and there were plenty of them. There are two shower blocks, one of which is in the 'adults only' field and these tended to be quieter and cleaner because of this.
There was a clearly marked path to the village where we had a very good meal at the Plough.
In all a super site in a lovely area with plenty to do and see, we will be back!

The best showers ever and the Heart FM radio was an added bonus!
I would have liked to stay on the ' adults only ' area, which I think would be acceptable for adults with teenagers that do not surface before 9 or 10!
The Plough pub in the village ( lovely walk ) accepted dogs in the bar and in the garden and food was very good.

As people have already said this is a nice site with plenty of space between pitches and clean facilities.
Family bathroom was good (bath, loo and basin) for dealing with 4 youngsters at once.
It is moderately exposed and (apparently) often quite windy but there are some hedges / banks to help with this. The only problem we had was the soil was ~2 inches deep before hitting stone. This may have been our corner of the family camping field (no one else seems to have mentioned it), but it did cause a few tense moments when pitching in a strong breeze!

Great site, we had a short break in May and chose the site because of it's proximity to Barnsdale Gardens. Very clean and tidy, excellent ablutions and level pitches make it suitable for the disabled.
The small shop on site seemed to have essentials though we tend to shop before we travel so didn't actually use it. There was some building work going on whilst we were there but it didn't really impact on us as we were out and about during the day.
The first day was very quiet due to the volcanic ash no fly rules but the second day provided entertainment in the form of the Harriers at next door RAF Cottesmore (I think this made the trip for the other half). On the second evening we took a gentle stroll down the footpath to the village and can heartily recommend sausage night at The Plough!
Barnsdale was an absolute delight and as we're lucky enough to live just a short way up the A1 we'll be visiting regularly to see the gardens throughout the seasons. Nearby Oakham is a nice wee town and has supermarkets and lots of interesting shops. There's also a few takeaways but we didn't use any on this trip. Stamford is just a short drive down the A1 and is also a pleasant little town.
Wardens were friendly and helpful and made sure our pitch was within easy reach of toilet / shower facilities so all in all we'd recommend the site to anyone.

Have stayed here a few times now as it is near my in-laws at Melton Mowbray.
It really is an excellent site, very convenient for the motorway and access is good.
The staff are always helpful and stock most essentials in the small shop.
The site is very level and there is plenty of space to manouver into your pitch. You are shown how to place your caravan/awning/car and the pitch sizes are good with no-one squashed in.
The facilities are very good and we have never had to queue for a shower. Plenty of hot water and ample shower/toilets/wash basins.
The water and waste disposal points are dotted around the site. Plenty of bins for rubbish and recycling is good here.
The dog walk is good with two areas planted with lots of trees. If you have good control of your dogs and you are aware of other users you can let you dogs have a run here.
Although we stop here to visit family it is a very good site for exploring the area. Only a short drive to Rutland Water where you can walk/cycle for miles.
Leicester is not too far away if like my hubby you are a tigers rugby fan, we always seem to fit a match in when we come down!
We are already planning our next visit and would not hesitate to recommend this site.

We've just come back from Rutland and it was a really nice site. The toilets and showers we're excellent, very clean with piped music which in my eyes is always a pleasure.
The pitches were massive with no extra cost, the pitches are all very flat. There's a lovely dog walk which is in a kind of orchard. Just a small walk down a small wooded lane leads you to the small village of Greetham where you can get your daily papers and 5 mins by car is Hambletons bakery which is great for your fresh bread.
